College Playoff Current Predictor Odds
Pennsylvania Duck replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
With a win over Arizona State and some help, Oregon can clinch Pac-12 Title Game spot this weekend With just two games remaining on the regular season schedule, the Oregon Ducks are now in a position going forward where they can clinch their spot in Las Vegas for the Pac-12 Championship Game on December 1st. All it takes is a win over the Arizona State Sun Devils this weekend, and a little bit of help from the Utah Utes and Washington Huskies. Oregon Football: How Ducks can clinch Pac-12 title spot this weekend DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM There is a scenario where the Oregon Ducks are able to clinch a Pac-12 Championship Game spot this weekend, but it’s not going... -
Stock Report: Brandon Dorlus dominates, while penalty issues pile up for Ducks The Oregon Ducks had a much more dominant game than the final score would suggest. Though they won by just 9 points against the USC Trojans, 36-27, Oregon outgained USC 552-379 in total yards, with almost double the yards on the ground (140-73) and a significant margin through the air (412-306). On top of that, the Ducks won the turnover battle, and forced four USC punts, while being forced to punt the ball just once on their own side of things. The stats help to show what those who didn’t stay up late to watch the game couldn’t see — a victory that was never in doubt for the Ducks. While there are a lot of things that need to be cleaned up for Oregon going forward, especially when it comes to penalties, Duck fans should feel pretty good about their team’s ability to get a stress-free win, even when not playing their best. As we do every week, let’s look at the players who saw their stock rise the most in the game, as well as a few players or areas that might need some attention going forward. Here is our weekly stock report for the Ducks... Oregon Football: Brandon Dorlus dominates, penalty issues pile up DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks largely dominated on the field against the USC Trojans, but still have several things to work on going forward.

No. 6 Oregon vs. Arizona State: Ducks open as three-TD favorites down in the desert This upcoming game for the Oregon Ducks is a classic example of past history causing a lot of concern for the fan base, while recent proof shows that it should be a lopsided affair. In the history of Oregon Ducks football, some unfortunate things have happened when traveling down to Tempe late in the season with a great record and high hopes for post-season success. Most recently, in 2019 the Ducks had a 9-1 record and were ranked No. 6 in the nation. They went to Tempe and lost to a 5-5 Sun Devils team that had no business competing in that game. A couple of years before that in 2017, Oregon again lost to Arizona State, this time ranked as the No. 24 team in the nation. It’s fair to see why Duck fans aren’t too fond of going down to Tempe. But if you look at this game in a vacuum, it’s not one that should provide much trouble for Dan Lanning and Co. Oregon is currently rolling and playing as one of the best teams in the nation, while Kenny Dillingham and the Sun Devils are playing inspiring football, though at a level far below the Ducks. If you take recent history out of it, this one shouldn’t be close. The betting line supports that notion. Let’s take a look at the early lines as they came out on Sunday... Oregon vs. Arizona State: Ducks open as three-TD favorite in Tempe DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks are big favorites on the road against the Arizona State Sun Devils this weekend down in the desert.

Massive Duck Recruiting Weekend
Pennsylvania Duck replied to Desert Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Speedster Gatlin Bair Pops up in Eugene as Ducks Continue Flip Efforts The Boise State wide receiver commit is one of the best playmakers in the country. Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are hot on the recruiting trail in the 2024 class. They're in the midst of their biggest recruiting weekend of the regular season and a big name popped up in Eugene for the USC game. 2024 Burly (Id.) wide receiver Gatlin Bair, who's verbally committed to Boise State, made the trip to Oregon to see the Ducks take on the Trojans. Bair committed to Boise State in August and chose the Broncos from a top five that also included Oregon, Michigan, Nebraska and TCU. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound pass catcher is rated a four-star (0.9786) recruit according to the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 40 player nationally, the No. 10 wide receiver and the No. 1 recruit in Idaho. The elite wide receiver's visit to Eugene is particularly notable because Boise State fired head coach Andy Avalos on Sunday morning with just two games left on the schedule. Oregon wide receivers coach Junior Adams and special teams coordinator Joe Lorig also recently made the trip to Idaho to take in a Burley game. Oregon's 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 6 nationally by 247Sports and already features commitments from wide receivers Jordan Anderson, Dillon Gresham and Jack Ressler. But Junior Adams and the Ducks aren't getting complacent, as they're continuing to push for elite playmakers to come play their college football in Eugene. Troy Franklin is all but guaranteed to be NFL-bound with the season he's having, becoming the first Oregon wide receiver to pass 1,000 receiving yards since 2018. Oregon Special Teams -- What's Up With Camden Lewis?
Pennsylvania Duck replied to SilverDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I am not sure of the circumstances, but Andrew Boyle has been on the injured/inactive list almost every week since the first couple of games. Isn't Grant Meadors a field goal kicker? I thought he kicked in some of the OOC games. -

9 major takeaways from Oregon's decisive 36-27 win over USC Trojans You can tell who stayed up late to watch this game based on the way that people talk about the result. The scoreboard says one thing, while the eye test says something completely different. 36-27 was the final score, a nine-point win for the Oregon Ducks over the USC Trojans. However, it was not a game that ever seemed to be as close as the final number would suggest. After a touchdown on the very first play of the fourth quarter, the Ducks held a 22-point lead over the Trojans, and if not for a touchdown late in the game, the narrative surrounding this contest would feel quite a bit different. It was yet another legendary performance for Bo Nix, a standout game for Oregon’s defensive line, and a somewhat frustrating outcome for fans when you consider how many opportunities were left on the table to make this a truly lopsided affair. In the end, a win is a win, though, and the Ducks got that without much stress. Here are our biggest takeaways from the game... 9 major takeaways from Oregon’s decisive 36-27 win over USC Trojans DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Some major takeaways from the Oregon Ducks’ decisive 36-27 win over the USC Trojans on Saturday night.

Ducks Wire Player of the Game: Troy Franklin inches closer to the Ducks' single-season receiving record The Oregon Ducks’ passing attack was at the top of its game in Oregon’s 36-27 win over the USC Trojans. Bo Nix connected with six different receivers and threw for over 300 yards for the second week in a row, this time racking up 412 yards through the air. Oregon’s leading receiver was Troy Franklin, who finished with 147 yards on 2 catches, and a TD, which makes him the Ducks Wire player of the game... Troy Franklin Becomes Oregon's First 1,000-Yard Wide Receiver Since 2018 Junior wide receiver Troy Franklin etched his name into the Oregon history books on Saturday night. He became the 12th wide receiver in program history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a single season and the first to do it since Dillon Mitchell in 2018. It was a light workload for Franklin against the USC Trojans, but he made the most of it, turning two catches into 147 receiving yards and a touchdown to help the spark the Ducks in a 36-27 win. The 6-foot-3, 187-pound wideout now has 1,093 receiving yards on the year and says the achievement shows he's making progress on a goal he brought with him to Eugene back in 2021. "It means a lot," Franklin said of hitting the 1,000-yard mark after the game. "When I first got out of high school I came to kind of change the receiver perception up here, so I think I'm kind of doing that." Franklin's achievement on Saturday looks like an indication of more good things to come, as he's now up to six 100-yard receiving games in 2023, tying an Oregon single-season record. Bo Nix's top target is now just 92 yards away from breaking the single-season record for most receiving yards (1,184), set by Mitchell in 2018. Franklin has at least one touchdown catch in 12 of his last 14 games, and his 139 career receptions are tied with Johnny Johnson III for 10th in program history. For more details, click here.

When you have a young head coach who is finding success on the field, fans are going to have to get used to hearing his name thrown about in conversations about open head coaching jobs across the nation, especially when they come at some of the more notable schools in college football. It comes with the territory, and it’s something that fans of the Oregon Ducks should be used to by now. So on Sunday morning, it might not have been a massive surprise to wake up and hear that Ducks’ coach Dan Lanning is being mentioned as one of the leading candidates for the Texas A&M Aggies job, which is expected to open up with the firing of Jimbo Fisher, something that was reported early this morning. Fisher, who is 45-25 in his six seasons at College Station, is expected to be let go this weekend, with the Aggies buying out his full $78 million contract and eating the loss. Going forward, they will be looking for coaching candidates who can help return the program to heights seen early last decade. It’s understandable why Lanning is seen as one of the leading candidates. In less than 2 seasons at Oregon, he has coached the Ducks to a 19-4 record, and appears well on his way to a potential spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game and subsequent College Football Playoff appearance should Oregon win their coming games. As you would expect, the news of Fisher’s firing, and the subsequent speculation about his replacement, fired up social media on Sunday morning, with Oregon fans feeling some type of way. Here’s a look at how fans were reacting... Instant Reactions to Oregon's 36-27 win over USC The Oregon Ducks won their ninth game of the season under the Saturday night, Autzen Stadium lights against the USC Trojans. The Ducks led for almost the entire game, but the Trojans did make a late push. With around five minutes left in the fourth quarter, Austin Jones scored a rushing TD, making the score 36-27. Lincoln Riley opted to go for the 2-point conversion, even though the PAT would’ve made it a one-score game. The Trojans didn’t convert, and the Ducks iced the game with a few first downs shortly after. The thing that stood out most to me was how strong Oregon’s passing attack was. Bo Nix has led one of the nation’s best passing offenses all year, but his performance in this game was particularly special. The Oregon receiving corps was able to make plays in open space throughout the game. Below are the rest of my instant reactions to Oregon’s win over USC...
