Oregon versus Washington - a recent history In what has, at least until recently, been a one-sided affair for the last 15 years, the Oregon-Washington rivalry is back in full swing. 2021 was the renewal of a series that has definitely regained its spice after the teams were set to square off for the inside track to the Pac-12 Championship Game in 2020 but the game was called off due to Washington having to pause football activities due to a COVID breakout. Overall, UW is 3-7 the last 10 times the two teams have met, but 2-3 the last five years and 3-3 the last six, so things have definitely tightened up. Three out of the last four times the Huskies and Ducks have met the games have been close, with the 2018 game decided in overtime and the 2019 game won by Oregon in come-from-behind fashion, while the Huskies were able to use a fourth-down stop and 43-yard field goal from Peyton Henry to give the No. 24 Huskies a thrilling 37-34 win over the No. 6 Ducks. Over the past 10 meetings, Oregon holds an average points edge of a little over a field goal a game, 32 to 30. But the last five meetings? Washington holds a 30-26 advantage, buoyed by the 38-3 win in 2017. And overall? Washington still holds a 61-46 series lead, with five ties. The last tie took place in 1962. Below are recaps and notes from the last 10 times the Ducks and Huskies have met... Oregon vs. Washington: Betting line drops slightly in favor of the Ducks After enduring a much-needed bye week for both teams, fans of the Oregon Ducks and Washington Huskies finally get to get back into game mode and ready themselves for what is undoubtedly the biggest challenge of the season thus far for either team. On Saturday afternoon, the No. 8 Ducks will travel up to Seattle to face the No. 7 Huskies in a matchup that will feature two of the best offenses in the nation and two of the leading Heisman candidates in 2023. It is a rivalry that is as bitter as almost any in the nation and a game that will be chippy down to the very end. Last week, the betting line opened in favor of the home team, with Washington giving 3.5 points to the Ducks. Since then, the line has dropped slightly in favor of the Ducks. Here’s where things currently stand, according to BetMGM... 5-star EDGE Elijah Rushing decommits from Arizona; projected to flip to Oregon Things are starting to move pretty quickly in the recruiting world for the Oregon Ducks. Sunday night brought a lot of good news for Dan Lanning and his team, starting with the commitment of 4-star CB Sioine Laulea, the No. 1 rated JUCO player in the 2024 class. However, fireworks started to come after that. A pair of recruiting predictions from 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong and Blair Angilau came in for the Ducks to flip 5-star EDGE Elijah Rushing, who committed to the Arizona Wildcats earlier this summer. Minutes later, the news broke that Rushing had officially decommitted from Arizona. Rushing is rated by 247Sports as the No. 8 overall player in the 2024 class, and the No. 1 EDGE. He was long thought to be an Oregon lean, but surprised many by committing to Arizona instead of the Ducks earlier this summer. We will now see if he turns right around and joins the Ducks 2024 class. It could happen quickly. 3 takeaways from a chaotic triple-overtime thriller that sees USC outlast Arizona USC found itself down 17-0 early in the second quarter. The crowd inside the L.A. Coliseum was dazed and confused. USC’s first three drives all went three-and-out as Arizona racked up more than 200 yards on its first three possessions. That set the scene for a truly wild night in Los Angeles. USC needed triple-overtime to do so, but led by 260 total yards of offense and four total touchdowns from quarterback Caleb Williams, No. 9 USC survived an upset bid from Arizona and escaped with a 43-41 win. The Trojans (6-0, 4-0 Pac-12) were outgained in the game 505-365. They gave up four sacks and were even in the turnover department. They were just 3-for-9 on third downs and trailed for more than 30 minutes before finally wrestling control of the game away from the Wildcats (3-3, 1-2 Pac-12). But having the best player in college football can be a great equalizer. Williams made plays late to deliver USC the win. What people are saying about the Hurricanes’ dumbfounding mistake in loss to Georgia Tech The Hurricanes just needed to take a knee to end their win against Georgia Tech. Instead, they ran the ball. Ducks vs Washington: Bye Week Articles, Etc.

5 things we've learned, 5 things still to learn about the 2023 Oregon Ducks By almost any metric you wish to look at, the 2023 season for the Oregon Ducks has been a success so far. Head coach Dan Lanning has the squad off to its first 5-0 start since 2013, and Oregon is one of only two teams in the nation to boast both an offense and a defense that rank inside the top 10 nationally. Quarterback Bo Nix is among the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy; wide receiver Troy Franklin is among the favorites to win the Biletnikoff Award, and the Ducks have one of the best odds in the nation to make it to the College Football Playoff and win a national championship. If you were to tell an Oregon fan all of those things about two months ago, they certainly would sign up for those results in an instant. It’s safe to say that we’ve learned a lot about this team through the first five weeks, but there is still a lot to find out going forward. While the Ducks’ numbers look great so far, it is important to note that they have not faced the meat of their schedule just yet. Over the final 7 weeks of the regular season, Oregon will go up against five teams that have been ranked inside the top 15 at some point this season, with a trio of No. 7 Washington, No. 13 Washington State, and No. 18 Utah all in a row coming out of this bye week. We are certain to learn a lot more about the Ducks going forward. So at this point in the season, what do we know for sure about this team, and what are a few things that we still need to find out? Let’s break it down in this midseason check-up to close out the bye week 5 things we’ve learned, 5 things still to learn about the Oregon Ducks DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM 5 things we’ve learned, 5 things still to learn about the 2023 Oregon Ducks -

Mid-Season Awards: Recognizing the best of the Oregon Ducks in 2023 A lot of this past week has been spent with us looking back on the first five weeks for the Oregon Ducks and finding out what went right, and what went wrong. With the Ducks standing undefeated going into their bye week, it marked the first time since 2013 that Oregon started the year 5-0. Obviously, a lot more had to go right, rather than wrong, for that to happen. As we get ready to turn the page on the bye and look forward to this weeks’ marquee matching against the Washington Huskies, we wanted to cement where we’re at the season and give ourselves a checkpoint to look back on after the season. In order to do so, we wanted to offer some mid season awards for Dan Lanning and his squad. Without further ado, here are our awards... Mid-Season Awards: Recognizing the best of the Oregon Ducks in 2023 DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Halfway through the 2023 season, who stands out for the Ducks? Let’s hand out some mid-season awards. -
Dan Lanning, Oregon coaches jump on recruiting opportunity during bye week One of the most obvious benefits of a bye week in college football is the fact that it gives your team an opportunity to recuperate and get healthy for the remaining games on the schedule. For the Oregon Ducks, that couldn’t be more of the case than it is this year, facing No. 7 Washington, No. 13 Washington State, and No. 18 Utah in the three consecutive weeks after the bye. With all of that being said, one of the more underrated aspects of a bye week is the opportunity that it affords the coaching staff. Rather than staying in town and crunching film all weekend, many teams have their coaching staff go out across the nation over the weekend and recruit some of the top players. That’s what Dan Lanning and the Ducks did this weekend. On Friday night, Oregon coaches were seen under Friday night lights across the west coast and into the midwest, checking in on some of Oregon’s top prospects in the 2024 and 2025 classes. Here’s a look at where the Ducks’ coaches were, and who they were checking out...
