  1. I would want Mike Bellotti to create my team of coaches. His coaches created teams that punched well above their weight and I would like to see what he would do with all this talent.
  2. For an RPO offense to work, the QB must make good reads and be able to pass. Brown does neither well.
  3. This article is spot on! I remember when my friends and I would watch the game and think about how special the team was. But it wasn’t just watching the game- we would discuss and search the web to know more about the game. Football was interesting beyond the game to those who traditionally had no interest to the sport before. That is gone. Covid or not we are not going to watch a boring game. The BBQ are gone, the only discussion about football I have is on FishDuck, and cut the cable cord, so I am unable to watch most the games…. And half the games I do watch- I regret watching them. Outside of recruiting, the game has lost significant value to myself and others. And it has left me wondering, if I didn’t tolerate a Brady Hoke defense, why am I tolerating a Cristobal Offense?
  4. I have seen many articles and comments discussing Cristobal’s prevent offense. With the talent the Ducks had, they should have never been behind Stanford. The horrific calls by the refs were just icing on the cake. Here is what would have saved the game. A fast acting offense that could eat up chunks of yardage on the ground. Say, if you are 1 & 20 with 3 min to go on the clock, you should still be a threat with the run game against Stanford’s run defense. They aren’t and that is a systematic problem. Cristobal’s offense is built so that if anything goes wrong- it breaks down. The penalties are not the problem. The inability to overcome the penalties is the problem.
  5. You can’t recruit your way out of this mess because Cristobal will alway run up against a coach who can coach, strategize, and recruit. As of now, we will be the SC of the north until the memory of the blur offense fades and more people see through Mario’s promise of “keeping of the Oregon offense tradition but tougher”. When people catch on the ratings, sales, and recruits will dry up. One caveat, I believe that he will be able to recruit defensive talent for the foreseeable future.
  6. I would have to say that if we had helfrich/aliotti with those players we would have won that game handily and would be contenders.
  7. Ain’t that the truth… If AB could hit someone downfield, If the team was ready to play before the first half, If the Ducks had a winning offensive scheme, If the Ducks had a killer instinct, if the Ducks were prepared to play every down even when they believe the other team had a false start, if the refs didn’t hand the cardinal 2 major penalties at the end of game, if the Ducks utilized any clock management, if AB pitched the ball to CK verdell like he was supposed to, if the Ducks played with a culture of awareness, urgency, and hunger. They would have won the game.
  8. I would say offensive flat, dumb football. When our defense clicks, our game is really fun to watch. Conversely, the Oregon offense is neither entertaining or effective. I personally think that MC values time of possession over either first downs or TD’s. I want MC to dominate not just because of Oregon green but I believe he has good character.
