  1. A blowout would help Oregon's chances the most. Doesn't matter if it's Michigan or Ohio State. Looking like's it going to be a 3-0 game, at this point.
  2. I also disagree with those that say that a QB can't improve. As I mentioned above, Ty Thompson has all of the physical abilities you'd look for in a QB (e.g., athleticism, arm strength, size), it's just putting them all together. Players are capable of growing with good coaching, in the right situation, as long as they have the physical abilities. Off the top of my head, below are some examples of QBs who drastically improved by their senior seasons (there are countless other examples): Joe Borrow Carson Palmer Akili Smith Dennis Dixon I believe that the coaches should bring in an experienced QB to complete for the starting job next season but I wouldn't write off Ty Thompson, yet. Even if he doesn't win the starting job next year, he could do really well his senior year or somewhere else.
  3. Easily Florida State. Oregon exposed an undefeated Florida State in the first ever college football playoff in the Rose Bowl. We'd do it again. I just hope that Oregon takes care of the mutts and has an opportunity to play in the college football playoffs. Go Florida! Knock off FSU today in the Swamp.
  4. I hope that they don’t dial it back and continue to play physical and aggressive. It’ll benefit us in the post-season and next year.
  5. Except it’s not really “fricken.” Dan Lanning had a FEBU shirt on in one of the Ducks vs. Them videos.
  6. Ty Thompson has all of the physical gifts you'd want in a QB - size, athleticism, a huge arm, etc. This year he appears to be making better decisions (with the exception of the interception in the ASU game) and throwing accurate passes. I hope that TT continues to improve and leads Oregon to a B1G championship next year!
  7. My only remaining concern with Will Stein is his creativity/play selection on 4th and short. There are plenty of plays to scheme guys wide open and/or to provide RPOs with a mobile QB. I hope that he has added some of them to his playbook in case we need them in our remaining games. Two things that I have been most pleased with (1) letting Bo retain complete control of the offense, including the ability to check at the line of scrimmage and (2) his development of QBs, as Ty Thompson looks better out there this year. Stein appears to be another great hire by Dan Lanning (we'll have to see how he does over the next few years without Bo Nix at QB).
  8. I disagree. Caleb reminds me of a bigger Patrick Mahomes. His accuracy downfield and playmaking abilities on the run is special. He has a strong and accurate arm and is tough to bring down due to his size. He is a baller and could be a superstar at the next level, if he is surrounded by the right supporting cast.
  9. I've seen other mock drafts that has Bo going #20 to Minnesota and another #8 to Atlanta.
  10. I haven't seen a mock draft with Bo going this high (many have him going middle to late first round) but it shows you how much Bo has improved his draft stock by coming back this year and playing well. I certainly hope he doesn't go to a NY team, for his sake... 2024 NFL mock draft: Caleb Williams first of 5 QBs in top 9 picks WWW.FOXSPORTS.COM There has never been a draft in which five QBs were picked in the top 10. The 2024 class may change all of that, with USC's Caleb Williams leading a talented group.
  11. However, this moment was pretty special for the program and still brings tears to my eyes...
  12. I posted this in another thread. My personal favorite play against Oregon State was Keenan Howry’s punt return for a TD. It was a miserable day and both offenses were struggling. Oregon was down by 3 at the start of the fourth quarter, until... Immediately after Howry's TD, the rain started to come down even harder to the cheers of the Oregon fans at Autzen. It was like we were getting a little assist from someone up above.
  13. Including a dominant win over Florida! The same Florida that just lost to #10 Missouri by 2.
  14. I wonder if this will impact how Oregon State plays on Friday. We all saw Oregon's two thrashings to Utah with the Mario Cristobal to Miami chatter. If he were focused on the Oregon job, we might have seen a different result in the Pac-12 championship game. That's one of the reasons that I was glad that Dan Lanning shut down the Texas A&M talk, right away!
  15. Tyler Van Dyke (TVD) is an intriguing prospect and I'm sure that there will be a lot of interested teams. TVD needs to reduce the number of interceptions. I haven't seen him play enough to know what he needs to improve but he seems to throw a nice ball and looks mobile enough to escape the pocket and pick up a first down, if needed. We all know that the regression is due entirely to Mario Cristobal, which is a shame because he looked like a really promising freshman.
  16. When I was young, I had the privilege of attending an Army home game at West Point. It's a beautiful campus and setting. Highly recommend it, if you ever have the chance. Go Army (and the other serve academies)!
  17. We'll have to see who enters the transfer portal. One name that I've seen on this and other sites is Cameron Ward, assuming that he could qualify as a grad transfer and be eligible to play immediately. He would be very intriguing given his athleticism and success at WSU. He is a very good QB on a bad team. I'd love to see what he could do with Will Stein as his OC and surrounded by the talent Oregon has on its roster.
  18. That makes sense. However, I’m sure our coaches will go coast to coast to recruit blue chip defensive lineman in the 2025 class. It appears that Oregon has high interest from 3 2025 4-Star DTs from Illinois and 3 4-Star DEs from Kansas, Ohio and Maryland. I’m sure that they’ll be more. There is little chance that Oregon coaches turn away high 4 star or 5 star talent that fits what they are looking for, IMHO. Oregon 2025 Football Prospects 247SPORTS.COM Oregon
  19. Dillingham coached Bo at Auburn and Lanning and Tosh coached against Bo as DCs at Georgia and Alabama. Therefore, they had plenty of opportunities to assess Bo’s strengths and weaknesses before offering him a spot at Oregon. His talent was too good to pass up, with an unproven QB room. Trust our coaches. They have proven in a short period of time that they know how to evaluate and develop talent. If they don’t bring in an experienced QB transfer to compete against TT then they have TONS of confidence in our QB room. If they are wrong, 2024 could be a long year. Are they willing to go through a potential “rebuilding” year to set up for a run in 2025 and 2026? I have faith that our coaches will do the right thing for Oregon’s football program.
  20. If Jonathan Smith takes the MSU job, we’d be facing his team in the B1G. I personally hope he stays at OSU.
  21. It’s obvious that Lanning and Lupoi believe that having a disruptive defensive line is critical to having an elite defense with how they are recruiting. However, the number of D-line recruits both this year and last makes me wonder if they are stocking up talent to prevent other teams (e.g., USC, Washington) from getting these studs. Bring them in and let the cream rise to the top.
