Quaaack!: 4-Star WR 2024 Commit...Jordan Anderson is a Duck
Good early pickup. Watching some of his highlight tapes, Jordan reminds me a bit of Kris Hutson.

5-Star Safety Peyton Bowen Committed to Oregon on Wednesday, but Snags Develop...
I agree that Oklahoma is closer. Although a 3+ hour drive is not fun. The original post was comparing the travel time from Dallas to Eugene vs. South Bend. The total travel time is ~50 minutes more to Eugene than to South Bend (3 hours and 37 minutes to Eugene vs. 2 hours and 46 minutes to South Bend). I doubt that would be the deciding factor between Oregon and Norte Dame. Plus, with NIL $$$ the family could easily travel now to see Peyton play, if they wanted to, and pay for TSA Pre-Check!

5-Star Safety Peyton Bowen Committed to Oregon on Wednesday, but Snags Develop...
Oregon = Peyton’s choice Notre Dame = parents’ choice Oklahoma = compromise? Wonder what Oklahoma fans think about this and how Peyton will be received in Norman? How long before he is in the transfer portal? I feel bad for Peyton. This is supposed to be HIS moment. He is a heck of a player and I wish him the best wherever he plays ball.

5-Star Safety Peyton Bowen Committed to Oregon on Wednesday, but Snags Develop...
WHAT FLIGHT ARE YOU TAKING?!!! There is a direct flight from Eugene to Dallas that takes ~3.5 hours. I took it a few months ago. It can't be much further from Dallas to Eugene than it is from Dallas to South Bend, Indiana. Is there a direct flight from South Bend to Dallas?

Noah Sewell is Off to the NFL
I wish Noah the best. It has been a true pleasure watching him play for the Ducks. He gave the program his all and appears to be a terrific young man. Once a Duck, always a Duck!!!

To Think...We COULD Have Had Justin Wilcox Recruiting!
The Wilcox hire never made any sense to me. Oregon would not even had him on their list of potential head coaches, if he weren’t a former Oregon player. Disaster avoided.

Dan Lanning: Best First Year Recruiting Class for ANY Oregon HC?
I’ll be interested to see how many of the highly rated recruits develop into impact players on the field. Looking back at Mario’s classes there appears to be a lot of misses (i.e., players haven’t made a significant contribution or transferred out). Not sure if this was poor evaluation or coaching. Of course, there are the can’t miss players (e.g., Kayvon, Noah) and Mario was very good at recruiting offensive lineman. I’m most excited about the roster turnover. We could be starting fall practices with over half the roster recruited by the current staff, including transfers. It’s clear that Dan and Tosh want size (tall and big) and athleticism on the defensive line, and many bodies to rotate to keep fresh. The top secondary players that I’ve seen are tall, athletic/fast and have great ball skills (some were receivers or returners for their H.S. teams). It’s an exciting time to be a Duck fan!

5-Star Safety Peyton Bowen Committed to Oregon on Wednesday, but Snags Develop...
No offense but this is not what is happening, according to reports. Peyton wants to be a Duck but his parents want him to go to Norte Dame. Peyton Bowen’s high school tape is amazing. He is all over the field and is a ball hawk. Reminds me of Patrick Chung. Would be a huge pickup for Oregon and I would expect him to make an immediate impact. He will get paid regardless of where he goes. Hope the parents let the young man make his own decision but, unfortunately, I’ve seen this scenario play out before...

High Drama: Signing Day Evening Update on Oregon's Remaining Verbal Commits
Regardless of what happens from here on out, I’m excited about the class that our coaches were able to pull together. We’ve addressed a number of positions of need with elite talent. There are some players who could have an immediate impact. Most importantly we have signed player who want to be Ducks and play in Eugene. As Dan Lanning proudly said not one signee from last year’s class has entered the transfer portal.

Jurrion Dickey Flipping?
Regardless of what Jurrion decides (I hope he’s a Duck), the coaches knocked it out of the park with this class because it has addressed positions of needs. We lost Moore but signed Austin Novosad, who could end up the better college QB. We got transfers from two proven offensive line studs (Ajani Cornelius and Junior Angilau). We signed a number of tall, athletic defensive lineman, headlined by 5-star Matayo Uiagalei and still have a shot at another 5-star David Hicks. We’ve brought in a bunch of secondary talent, including Daylen Austin and brought in another transfer CB from Alabama, who was the #1 JC player last year. I hope that Peyton Bowen sends his LOI to Oregon, if that’s where his heart is but, in not, Oregon will be fine and perhaps looks for a transfer safety. Oregon will be fine at wide receiver. We have Hudson and Franklin returning and signed a transfer from Alabama. No, today was a GREAT day to be a Duck. Our coaches gave recruited positions of needs. We have player signing with Oregon who want to be in Eugene. And we are not done, yet!!!!

Quaaack! Austin Novosad is a Duck
Wow. Coach Lanning said that Will Stein has been high on Austin and has known him since the 8th grade.

Good Grief! Oregon Has a Shot at a THIRD 5-Star?
LOL. That would be worth the NIL $$$. Make the Trojans regret double crossing the Pac-12!!!

5-Star Safety Peyton Bowen Committed to Oregon on Wednesday, but Snags Develop...
Peyton Bowen is a ball hawkin' safety. GREAT pickup by Coach Lanning and Oregon! GO DUCKS!!!

Ajani Cornelius, Superb Portal Offensive Tackle Picked OREGON!
Any guess on where he will choose?

It's a Great Day to Be a Duck!
Hope Hicks reads ESPN. He could be a part of something special.

How Many Quarterbacks Can One Team Sustain?
It wasn't that long ago that Oregon was down to their 4th or 5th quarterback, playing UCLA in the Rose Bowl. I was there and it was among the worst Oregon offensive performances that I have witnessed. Oregon only gained 148 yards and lost 0-16 (first shutout in 22+ years). The Niners are on their 3rd QB this year and he almost wasn't able to go last game. However, unlike the NFL, college teams cannot trade or pick up free agents during the season. Ducks suffer ugly shutout loss to UCLA KPIC.COM UCLA freshman Kai Forbath kicked three field goals, including a career-long 54-yarder, and the Bruins took advantage of No. 9...

Breaking: Stud 4-Star Corner Daylen Austin Flipping Commitment from LSU to Oregon!
I didn’t see anything that I didn’t like watching Daylen’s tapes. He is fast, aggressive, makes plays all over the field, plays with a lot of confidence and is a heck of a punt and kickoff returner. It should be a great completion for the starting secondary positions with the returners, transfers and high school signees.

Breaking: 5-Star Edge Matayo Uiagalelei has Committed to be a DUCK!!
Watching Matayo’s highlight tapes, he doesn’t appear to have the raw quickness as Kayvon (very few do) but he appears bigger/ stronger at the same age, very athletic and I really liked his motor/relentlessly. Hopefully he is an immediate impact player for the Ducks for a huge position of need.

Breaking: 5-Star Edge Matayo Uiagalelei has Committed to be a DUCK!!
It’s sad that Matayo couldn’t announce it himself, as he has been in the hospital the past couple of days. Hope it’s nothing serious and he gets better soon. Can’t wait to watch him in Eugene!!! Go Ducks!!!!

5-Star Safety Peyton Bowen Committed to Oregon on Wednesday, but Snags Develop...
Great pickup at another position of need! Hope Peyton (great name) can contribute right away. The coaches have prioritized revamping Oregon’s defense with over half of the class playing on that side of the ball.

Breaking: 5-Star Edge Matayo Uiagalelei has Committed to be a DUCK!!
This is HUGE news! Wonder if the NIL money that freed up with Moore choosing UCLA was spread around to some of these top prospects? Much better investment, IMO.

How Many Quarterbacks Can One Team Sustain?
While I agree that keeping 4-5 QBs on the roster is more challenging with the transfer portal, I disagree that it can’t be done. It’s all about expectations. Most 5-star QB recruits are going to expect to start within the first year or two, and if that doesn’t happen they will transfer to a school where they believe it’s possible. On the other hand a 3 or 4 star recruit may be willing to wait a bit longer to start. Perhaps they are more of a developmental project or perhaps they grew up an Oregon Ducks fan. They also probably won’t have as many opportunities in the transfer portal, particularly at top 25 programs, since they don’t have the name recognition as a former 5-star. IMHO, Oregon should look to add two 3-4 star QBs EVERY class. If they don’t develop then look for a proven transfer QB in the portal to fill the gap. For the upcoming season, it looks like we’ll have 3 scholarship QBs, if TT does not transfer out in the spring. Perhaps the coaches should look to add a lower rated player or preferred walk on to get to 4 QBs, in case of emergency?

Quaaack! OG Junior Angilau is a Duck--A HUGE Target
Wow. Great news is everywhere on this board tonight. Another HUGE pickup. Hopefully he can be fully healthy before fall camp because this dude can play!
