  2. Oregon Making up Ground With 5-Star DL Aydin Breland The Ducks hosted the big-time defensive lineman for an unofficial visit last weekend. Oregon has been pursuing some big-time defensive linemen in the 2024 recruiting class. Names like Jordan Ross (Alabama), David Stone (Florida), Elijah Rushing (Arizona) and Collin Simmons (Texas) all come to mind. But the Ducks may not need to go too far for another stud. This past weekend they hosted 2024 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei defensive lineman Aydin Breland for an unofficial visit. "I actually just went up with Brandon (Baker) and Jack (Ressler). I got invited with them," Breland said of why he took the trip. "It's always a great time up in Eugene. It's always a good time up there. I love getting up there and having a good time with everybody." This time around was different for the five-star defensive lineman. https://www.si.com/college/oregon/recruiting/oregon-making-up-ground-with-5-star-dl-aydin-breland

  4. Since the turn of the century, the game of college football has seemingly exploded onto the scene. That isn’t to say that it hasn’t always been entertaining and hand a legitimate place in the sporting world, but over the past 20 years or so, it has come to the forefront of the landscape and is covered as closely as any other sport in the nation. With the introduction of the college football playoff, the transfer portal, and NIL, that statement is more true now than ever. What’s great for Oregon fans is the fact that the Ducks have been at the center of that universe since the turn of the century as well. With a new era ushered in by Joey Harrington and Mike Bellotti in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Ducks have been rapidly accelerating and quickly becoming one of the most popular teams in the nation. That would require one heck of a run but I think the secret to success in the postseason is to play with your backs against the wall and play like it.” Two dramatic comeback wins against Cal and now Stanford! 13. Each and every year, one of the most common questions that is asked among Oregon Duck fans leading up to the action on Saturday is not about the opponent, but rather about the attire. “What color are we wearing?” With the decade-plus of weekly uniform changes and fashion-forward thinking, Oregon has become synonymous and outfit extravaganza, and that goes beyond just the players on the field. Fans inside Autzen Stadium are always dressed to the nines, knowing that on certain weeks, they are encouraged to wear green, or yellow, or black, or white. So for the 2023 season, what colors are you wearing for which weeks? Here’s the full schedule, according to the team: Oregon Football: Ducks announce 2023 color scheme schedule for fans DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Time to start getting those gameday outfits ready. 14. Bust out the victory cigars, Dan Lanning. You deserve all the smoke. Oregon continues to dwarf the rest of the Pac-12 in high school recruiting, with Lanning landing one of his biggest recruits yet in Baltimore-bred 4/5-star quarterback prospect Michael Van Buren, who publicly committed to Oregon this week over a group that included Penn State and home-state favorite Maryland, after reportedly being a silent commit since April. Van Buren, who, according to ESPN is the 2nd-ranked pocket passer in the class behind recent Georgia commit Dylan Raiola, becomes Oregon’s 14th commit and 11th 4-star (according to 247Sports’ recruiting rankings, to go along with 3 more 3-stars. No other Pac-12 team has more than 2 4-star commitments and UCLA, Arizona State and Colorado are tied for 2nd in the conference with 5 recruits each. Forget lapping the competition: The Ducks are literally almost tripling their rivals on the recruiting trail. 15. Oregon Predicted to Land 4-Star Offensive Lineman Is another commitment on the way for Oregon football? Maybe not in the immediate future, but it's looking more likely. On Wednesday, Oregon received a 247Sports crystal ball prediction to land 2024 Aiea (Hi.) High interior offensive lineman Preston Taumua. The prediction came from Mountain Region recruiting analyst Blair Angulo, who is 479/513 (93.37%) all-time with his predictions. https://www.star-telegram.com/sports/college/article275793156.html#storylink=rss
  16. What's interesting about the Big 12 adding more teams. Where is the money going to come from? Will ESPN or FOX belly-up with more money if they add more schools? Jon made a good point, Conferences don't have the money, they need media partners to pony up. Unless media partners bring more money to the table, the more schools you add, the less each school will receive.
  17. I am with you on this, not sure. Of course as we all know, there are many articles out there on the demise of the Pac-12. Like the four corner schools going to the Big 12 and Oregon with Washington going to the Big 10 due to failed media rights deal. I read the article Tramel put out on Colorado which is this one below that the SWAIM show was talking about. As silent as the Pac-12 have been on the media rights deal, hard for me to believe that all these rumors are true at this point. I would think the likes of Canzano, Wilner or Bodkin which is closer to the heart beat of the Pac-12 would be putting the news out there if any of this is true. But again, hard to know what is true and what isn't at this point. What I hope is Oregon will make the right decisions moving forward. Hopefully voicing their demands, getting what they want before signing any 'short term' contract with the Pac-12. Tramel's ScissorTales: Is Colorado close to leaving Pac-12 for Big 12? Signs say yes WWW.OKLAHOMAN.COM A Big 12 source says Colorado is close to leaving Pac-12, and signs mount that the Pac-12 is more vulnerable than ever

  19. No. 1 RB Turbo Rogers Talks Commitment Decision and Final Five Programs With a decision date set for June 2, 2025 No.1 running back Anthony "Turbo" Rogers spoke with FanNation's Director of Recruiting Brooks Austin to break down his impending decision. Located more than 2,500 miles from Rogers’ hometown, Oregon is the lone school outside the southeast to still have a shot to reel in the talented running back. Given the considerable distance from his home, it is naturally curious that the Ducks made the cut for his top-five. To hear Rogers explain it, it is his long-standing relationship with Oregon’s Running Back Coach Carlos Locklyn that has kept the Ducks in the mix. “They’ve got a nice offensive scheme. They are known for having speedy running backs so I’m pretty sure they know what to do with guys like me in the backfield. But the main thing with Oregon, Coach Locke, the running back coach, he gave me my first offer ever when he was at Western Kentucky and he’s from my hometown so we’ve had a great relationship ever since I was in eighth grade, so that’s why I chose Oregon. https://www.si.com/college/georgia/recruiting/turbo-rogers-talks-georgia-football-and-recruitiment

  22. The timing of it all makes perfect sense. No, not that timing. Not the timing of the Pac-12's media rights deal, which has been extended far beyond what was originally forecast and might not be completed for many more weeks. Instead, we're referring to the timing of on-the-record comments about the negotiations by those in the know. The utterances fit perfectly within the larger saga. The conference held its annual double-shot of spring meetings in the first half of May. The athletic directors gathered in Scottsdale (with coaches) during the first week, then came the quarterly board meeting of university presidents on May 15 in Seattle. Both agendas included updates from commissioner George Kliavkoff on media rights negotiations and conference expansion. Kliavkoff hasn't spoken publicly about the topics for six months, and that didn't change following the May meetings. But two athletic directors and one president addressed the situation, thus providing fans and media members alike with enough crumbs to create a path through the silence. Let's dig in. Pac-12 media rights: How to interpret a recent series of public comments by campus officials WWW.KSL.COM Two ADs and one president have spoken about the negotiations.
