Jemangi No. 3 Share Posted August 6, 2023 I was at Autzen for the Nebraska game. Easily ran over them as I remember. Nebraska obviously has more to worry about than Oregon LOL

HappyToBeADuck No. 5 Share Posted August 6, 2023 That makes sense on many levels. As many have asked, including myself; Why would a media company that is entirely a "SPORTS BROADCASTING NETWORK" not want P5 football content? Those "wankers" at ESPN wanted it all along. My intuition tells me that once GK and the presidents demanded near $50 milluon per school during the open window that FOX and ESPN left those negotations knowing the PAC had no place to go Time was on the medias side. Also FOX has plenty of content to sell ESPN to cover costs or make a profit. Some of the west coast BIG games may end up at 7 pm pst.

NJDuck Moderator No. 13 Share Posted August 6, 2023 Oh great! Was hoping to get away from Pac-12 After Dark . Yuck . Of course it will always be for now on 'Show Me the Money' . More dollars comes with a price of doing business. They want that night time inventory. But, will be better with the Big Ten then it was with the Pac-12. Washington fans need to tone it down. They haven't gotten into the Big Ten yet, already creating enemies. Illusion of Grandeur happening. If it wasn't for Oregon, Washington wouldn't have gotten in. It needed to be done as a team effort. I see this coming as soon as 2026 when the SEC will also have at least 20 teams. There will be a 16-team playoff with no auto bids and seeding preferences for conference champs. The B1G and the SEC will send at least 3 teams and more often 4 teams every year to the playoff. Edited August 6, 2023 by Jon Joseph

THIS should happen. With the in-conference SOS and an expanded playoff field, this will not hurt Oregon's ability to make the field. Oregon now has Est Coast Bias cache and games over lower-level B1G teams will just mean more than games against lower-rung Pac-12 teams. And will be viewed by far more fans. I'm looking forward to the read.

Tandaian No. 22 Share Posted August 7, 2023 It will be interesting. It isn't like Rutgers and Maryland have a long history with the B1G TEN. However, Rutgers have NYC, so they will get to stay. DC surprisingly is #8 in TV market with 2.1 million viewers. They likely get to stay as well. Those are the 2 lowest TV numbers by school for the B1G TEN. However, Maryland football averaged 971K is 2021 and 1.86 mil in 2022. From 2022.
