The Huskies game against Eastern Michigan is on the BIG10 Network.

UW has decided to copy the SEC scheduling philosophy.

Re the SEC scheduling philosophy - We played Idaho, so we really can’t throw stones in terms of weak scheduling.

UW's OOC:

Weber State

Eastern Washington

Washington State

UO's OOC:

Idaho

Boise State

Oregon State

Sure we can:  Washington is playing 2 FCS (Division I-AA) schools OOC; Oregon played one.  Oregon's SOS is ranked higher by most (e.g., College Football News, Power Rankings Guru, SI).

I thought the title was about Jedd Fisch having one eye on the Florida job for the rest of the season..

True.  Oregon plays one Big Sky and two Mountain West level (in reality that’s what OSU and WSU are at this point) and UW plays two Big Sky and one Mountain West level.  So technically we play the more difficult schedule of the two.  I just don’t like us playing Big Sky or that level schools at all.

But being on the BTN means a blackout in Seattle. Nice.

I don’t mind for the first game, as a way to work out the kinks.

How many FBS teams would Oregon have beaten with the way they played on Saturday?

Honestly I'm reasonably certain Idaho would have beaten more than half of FBS teams the way they played. Nobody has any right to be that disciplined and dialed in for the first game of the year.

Idaho played disciplined and fundamentally sound football against the Ducks. Credit to their coaches.

However, Idaho has a roster full of 2-3 star recruits. Oregon should have been able to line up in base packages and beat them easily, if Oregon played a clean game.

Some of Coach Lanning’s in-game coaching decisions (e.g., fake punt) also may have made the final outcome closer than necessary.

I’m glad it was LSU playing USC and not Oregon.  Caught a break there for sure.

Their stadium probably has enough empty seats for these games that if they are desperate enough they can show up in person.

Though apparently they had over 66,000 for that first game.

Schedules, who cares about schedules, it was 2021, Husky Stadium, Washington 7 Montana 13.

The huskies are one coaching hire away from losing to FCS schools again, makes my heart flutter.

The only thing that matters is their offense looked way better than ours.  So did USC:s (against much better competition at that).

We are in the here and now.  Florida State lost last night.  We look about as good as they do at present.

If we lose, you damn well bet they will troll us endlessly.  They're winning.  Winning matters.
