Desert Duck No. 1 Share Posted December 3 "Miami coach Mario Cristobal asks (begs) CFP committee to reward wins" Mario is begging the selection to "go to the facts" when deciding whether the Hurricanes deserve an at-large berth into the 12-team field. Well, the facts are that their 10-2 record should be 8-4, they've lost 2 of their last 3 games, and they'd played a weak schedule. Augduck No. 3 Share Posted December 3 UGH- Mario just never ceases to amaze. He just does not know when to stop. He is making his ineptness look even worse by doing this. "Hey, CFP committee, I really screwed up in a couple of games and cost my team wins but can you please overlook that and reward us anyway. We did not beat any Top Ten teams but, please pay no attention to that, okay??? Please????" He is prepping the Miami fan base to go all in and blame the committee.
DrJacksPlaidPants Moderator No. 4 Share Posted December 3 Who does he think he is? No coach can get into the playoff with two bad losses unless they're wearing a crimson script "A" on their polo.
MicroBurst61 No. 5 Share Posted December 3 Mari-ONo NEEDS a playoff invite. He won't have Cam Ward to pull out wins in the end next year. If he slips back to middle of the pack next year then recruiting, coach choices, become limited, And more importantly Mari-ONo's coaching seat instantly goes to HOT! An invite would give him a three year grace period before the inevitable. And he knows it. Glad we have Lanning!
Ktmguy2018 No. 6 Share Posted December 3 I don't think Mario should tell anyone to "go to the facts" The facts are: They won two games via extremely controversial calls, and overturned CALLED touchdown that had no conclusive evidence to overturn, and a blown targeting no-call on Miami that would have extended a Cal drive and probably ended the game. Miami "should" be 8-4 and everyone knows it. Just because you win 10 games against inferior competition doesn't give you an automatic bid to the playoff. Army is 10-1, Memphis is 10-2, BYU is 10-2, Iowa State is 10-2, UNLV is 10-2 Those teams are in the class that Miami is in. Everybody except Mario knows that any 9-3 SEC team is better. Shoot, the 6-6 Sooners would give the Hurricanes fits. He is politicing because he knows that his own mistakes cost him and he would rather defer and dump the ramifications on the "Big, Bad Committee". News flash Maron (that's Mario and Moron combined), you don't even get to play in your conference championship! That's on you, not the committee. 2
DrJacksPlaidPants Moderator No. 7 Share Posted December 3 Mario became Oregon's coach because the current players at that time told Mullens he is who they wanted. Then, Josh Wilcox almost became Oregon's head coach because that's who the former players told him they wanted. Luckily, Wilcox turned the job down and forced Mullens to go with the inexperienced kid. 1
