OregonDucks No. 1 Share Posted December 8 Tez's story pulls at my heart strings. An undersized and under-the-radar WR, who grew up an Oregon Ducks football fan (in Alabama), adopted by the Nix family and found his way to Eugene, Oregon to show everyone what he is capable of. Congrats on becoming the first wide receiver to win the Big-10 Conference Championship MVP! [And he's not done, yet!] Hey Tez: "Once a Duck, Always a Duck!" 2

"I told them, 'This is the first game y'all coming to, I'll give y'all a show, I promise you that,'" Johnson said. "I don't know if words can explain it. My mom, just seeing the tears in her eyes, being able to watch me play on a stage like this. My family had never seen it before. ... It's something you dream about." 1 1 3

What he does after the catch on the shorter routes is what sets him apart. Is there anyone better? 2
30Duck Moderator No. 4 Share Posted December 8 Tez was amazing, he was uncoverable! On one of his catches he ran right between 2 PSU defenders, who must have felt a whoosh go by! 1

OregonDucks Author No. 6 Share Posted December 8 I hope that some team gives him a shot in the NFL. He's undersized but could be a very good slot/possession receiver. If not my Niners...Denver or the Chargers, please?

The Kamikaze Kid Moderator No. 8 Share Posted December 8 Tez's moves are more like basketball fakes and hesitations. They are way more subtle than a Barry Sanders like football fake. I don't think football players know how to deal with it. His 0 to 60 acceleration after the move is simply unmatched. He's basically playing a different game than everyone else. I remember watching his first spring game. He caught a standard 10-12 yard pass in traffic, applied one of his now standard moves and was gone for about a sixty yard TD untouched. After consulting the roster list,. I knew this new guy Tez was going to be a problem! 2

Wood Duck No. 10 Share Posted December 8 I heard he told someone when he was a kid playing tag, they always made him be "it" first because no one could ever catch him, and watching him on the field, I believe it. His is a great story. He's a special player and we're so lucky to have him. 1
