30Duck Moderator No. 1 Share Posted December 11 And Finebaum isn't even the guy wrote it. Best Match-up for the Championship Game. 1. Texas v. Georgia An all-SEC national championship would ruffle feathers but it would still offer the best matchup possible. A rubber match between the Longhorns and Bulldogs is the trilogy this season deserves to end on. Georgia may have already won the series with two wins but if Texas could avenge both with a national title then that would be what everyone remembers. 2 2 1
mikethehiker No. 2 Share Posted December 11 A rubber match occurs after a split. It's over Texas. You don't have one Top 25 win this year. Not one. 1 1

But WE don't.
Haywarduck No. 4 Share Posted December 11 Actually NOtre Dame should be able to go straight to the championship game, that is what everyone wants to see. They shouldn't have to play anyone to ensure they don't play another bad game and lose on their way to the big game. One more Texas-Georgia game and then ND, the way it should be, in a perfect world!

Solar No. 6 Share Posted December 11 (edited) This is wrong on so many levels it's exhausting just thinking about refuting it, so I won't. I don't really have a problem predicting that game, I mean, yeah, I could see that happening, Texas is a good team, Georgia is a good team, but in no way would that be the "best" matchup. What does that even mean? Is it the most intriguing matchup? No because one team has already won twice. Is it the most exciting matchup? No, because neither side has shown much in the way of offense, and the last game was dud when it comes to actual play. Does it bring some sort of history to the matchup? No, because there isn't really any connection to the two programs other than they played twice this season. The best matchup is probably Oregon-Georgia. It has the Lanning-Smart connection, Oregon is an exciting offense against a very good defense, SEC vs. B1G, most dominant program of the last few years vs. the team that has looked the best for most of the season. 2 2 2

1Funduck No. 12 Share Posted December 12 There is NO WAY Texas and Georgia play for the NC. Georgia is going to lose to Penn St. or ND. Texas has a straight shot to play us in the semis. We beat them. We have a demonstrably better QB, better receivers, and an equal if not slightly better defense. The Natty is going to be Oregon/ND(Penn St.). I hope its ND because we already played PSU. DUCK ON!!!!!!!!

I like the spirit, but crap happens (key injuries, suspensions - we’ve been THERE before, crappy refs, etc). Not saying it will be a one and done, but 3 more games including the natty (thank you Cliff).
