Where they'll be depends on how the game with 11-3 Maryland. Current odds have Oregon -4.5. Sandy Rocks No. 10 Share Posted January 5 The ducks are really playing well in the second half. Finally getting the shots to fall but that is result of their excellent defense. I wish I could watch it. At least with the old PAC-12 station you could watch all the conference games. It's disgusting that I can't watch it since it is such a good game. This is the way the ducks have to play each game. They can't let up. It's going to be tough but at the end of the season they will be battle-hardened. 30Duck Author Moderator No. 19 Share Posted January 5 He's not Peyton Pritchard, but Shelstad had a Pritchard type game in this one! 23 points, 8-10 shooting, 0 turnovers after a horrible game against Illinois.
Sandy Rocks No. 20 Share Posted January 5 Good game, they really balanced back and played hard in the second half. Shelstad had an excellent game, the announcers said that he had a look in his eye that he wasn't going to lose. I wish I could have watched it but at least hopefully I can watch the replay on the BIG channel. I think it is criminal that the BIG didn't have the conference game on their channel. It's okay with preseason games, they don't matter as much. It's all about the money. You can't pay to see all these games. It's hard to keep track of the game when you can't watch what is happening. There was a first for me in this game, a technical when Maryland asked for a time out when they didn't have one, they stupidly took one earlier when they really didn't need it. That's on the coach.
Charles Fischer Administrator No. 21 Share Posted January 5 What I did not know until the end is that Maryland had already lost at Washington on this road trip, so it's too bad that the Huskies are going to be tough for us, but great that the B1G opponents don't just concentrate on preparation for Oregon. We needed that! 1 Mr. FishDuck
Sandy Rocks No. 22 Share Posted January 5 I respectfully disagree about the comment regarding Pritchard and Shelstad. This is only the second year for Shelstad. Pritchard needed all four years to get as good as he was. I believe that Shelstad is equally good as Pritchard at this point. He gets a lot of assists and he is playing with a much deeper team than Pritchard ever had. It hasn't been easy with all this depth to figure out each player's roles and rotation. Shelstad has to manage all that. I am so pleased that Biddle is getting the attention he deserves, I always felt people were way too harsh with him in the past.

Whew! GeoTechDuck pointed out a while ago that there are going to be a dozen or so Quad 1 wins just in conference play. I didn't think so much of it from afar, B1G teams getting in to "March Madness" with under .500 conference records, but now we're seeing how that happens. Home court wins are incredibly important. 1

You can track it here. I like this layout and it notes how teams are moving in the rankings. If things hold (they won’t), Oregon would have 14 Q1 games. That is absolutely insane!! There will be teams below 0.500 in the BIG getting into the tourney for sure. Oregon currently 5-2 against Q1 and perfect against Q2-Q4. We are still sitting g in that 2-3 seed spot in Bracketology.
