The Jimmies and the Joes are still in Columbus by the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria boatload. It will not be hard for Day to find quality coaches who want to be the OC and DC at TOSU. OC? WRs coach Hartline is likely ready to move up. Three solid O Line starters return. Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate are back along with highly-rated recruits. On defense, Caleb Downs, Sonny Styles, and one other starter return but the talent is on hand to plug guys in, back-ups who had significant reps in 2024. Chip like Day walked away in glory. Nevada Dawg No. 25 Share Posted February 3 As a follower of the Raiders (because of Brock Bowers), I applaud this hire. Pete Carroll is an upgrade as well. Now that Tom Brady is more heavily involved with the team, it could start to make a move back toward respectability. But the most consequential change would come if someone could pry the franchise away from the Davis family and place it into the hands of a group that actually understands modern football. Yet I sometimes feel like crying for the team. They know that they need a QB but are leaning toward drafting Shedeur Sanders. Please know. If you have to draft a QB in a bad draft for QBs, at least have the sense to take Dillon Gabriel. Brock Bowers managed to break the 1-year old NFL rookie receiving record this year. He does have Brock Bowers and J-P-J. As Nevada Dawg noted above, like many teams in the NFL, the Raiders need a leader at quarterback. It looks like the team finally has a leader as the head coach. The Raiders play in one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL. Two games against the Chiefs, the Chargers, and the Broncos is a tough ask. All three teams qualified for the post-season. Antonio Pierce or Pete Carroll? Pete has the chops. Pierce? Nevada Dawg is also spot-on about the Raiders owners. Brady is already making a difference, and I don't believe any major front-office moves will be made without consulting Brady.

New starting QBs at OBD, Ohio State, Texas, Georgia, Bama, Ole Miss, Miami, and other preseason-ranked teams will be fascinating to watch. Clemson, ASU, Penn State, LSU, Tennessee, Florida, and SMU return their QBs as does BYU, a team with a solid argument to have made the field in 2024. Impactful opening games, LSU at Clemson, and Texas at Ohio State will be interesting. Miami vs. Notre Dame, is Beck all that and is the new QB at Notre Dame ready to go? The other brand name opener has Bama traveling to FSU. OBD opens against a team, Montana State, which like OBD, had only 1 loss in 2024. Georgia opens against the Marshall Thundering Herd. Marshall is ranked 2nd in Rivals ranking of the top 100 1st round portal pickers, not because of the rating of the average recruit, 2.08, but because of bringing in 40 new players who may still be introducing themselves to one another in Athens. Ohio State and Georgia each added six new players from the portal and are tied at the top with an average player ranking of 3.67.
