I've watched the condensed Oregon State and Washington State season openers, and really was surprised just how far down they've gone in one season.

IDAHO looked bigger, stronger, faster and more skilled than WSU. The only reason Idaho lost was from shooting themselves in the foot over and over with stupid penalties and fumbles.

OSU just looked untalented and inept against Cal that looked same as they have for the last few years minus Jayden Ott.

OSU and WSU have gone from P5 competitors to mediocre G5 teams in a year and a half. The PAC whatever absolutely will be a G5 team across the board. The only resemblance it will have to the former PAC12 is it will be league of parity.

Hard to believe these Rodents represent the same school that throttled Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl in the Dennis Erickson era. Their undoing was that stupid chain saw routine. Get rid of that and you've ungraded the program!

Oh yeah, every team not called BSU that’s joining the league in 2026 is at best a mediocre G6.

That.... And... Not taking that huge win and leveraging it into a bigger brand and program.

They took the win and were happy with it. Never thought of the next step.

Oregon in 1994 reached the Rose Bowl and continued to work on building their brand into something bigger and better.

1994 was the beginning.

And the difference between those two... Oregon lost that Rose Bowl but made something of it..just think of what the Ducks would have done with a win?

Take the lowest tier of the old PAC 12, add a bunch of mid level Mountain West teams and expect them to be P5 competitors? C’mon man, not ever gonna happen.

Do we call them the PASC 8 now? Pacific Association of State Colleges…

They are bottom feeders in their new conference! A conference they opted to build while destroying another.

Maybe they can invite Oklahoma State to join the Pathetic Association of State colleges?

Seriously, there’s nothing to suggest they won’t be middle of the PAC if that conference sticks around. The one advantage they used to have over their new conference teams was their association with the real PAC. In the new PAC they’re just some wannabe trying to recruit against teams located in better recruiting markets.

It's like a very poor Elvis or Michael Jackson impersonater. Just let the PAC name go off into the sunset. It's just dragging the once "Conference of champions" through the mud. It's like they think keeping the name will elevate programs, but it's the programs that elevate the conference. It would be like if the ACC loses Clemson, North Carolina, FSU, Virginia and Miami and replace them with Memphis, Coastal Carolina, USF, Tulane and UCONN but keeps the name ACC. Even that would be better because they would at least keep some recognizable names like Duke, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech, Louisville, Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Boston College.

Who thought of Washington State and Oregon State when you spoke of the PAC Twelve? Who thinks anybody in that new iteration of the PAC outside of Boise State would be coveted by the P4?

For football Boise State is intriguing but there are two problems that has kept them out of a power conference all these years.

1. Market share - we have all learned too much about media markets with realignment that's for sure. And Boise State is just a really small market. Probably OSU and WSU have better market shares than BSU but BSU is a much better football school.

2. Academics - this one seems silly but some of the Power conferences do still care about the academic side of things. The academics are BSU is what really kept them out of the Pac-12.

Boise State will be putting a whole lot of these new pac-12 trophies in their cabinet which will probably anger the only two real pac-12 members..

Oregon State has some serious issues. Bray is making the Helfrich era look Sabanesque! 👀

Nah, OK State doesn't have the money to change the conference logo on the unis. 🙃

I think Beavis has an outside shot at 0-12 now.

They’re almost certainly starting 0-6 imo, 1-5 at best. The last 6 games on their schedule are pathetic, but so are they. WSU looks like the better team, and they play twice. Some of those random teams are going to have better athletes than they think.

I’d put their ceiling at 4-8 at this point.
