Heading into Week 5, the top 5 in QB Efficiency Rankings are all B1G boys.

1. Jayden Maiava - USC

2. Fernando Mendoza - Indiana

3. Julian Sayin - Ohio State

4. Demond Williams, Jr - Washington

5. Dante Moore - OBD

In the preseason, SEC QBs were expected to be the cream of the crop. B1G QBs only so-so. 😁

Neuter the Nits!

No.

And our mighty Ducks will be facing at least 3 of those qb's in the regular season.

This is shaping up to be a really fun season!

No.

Hmm... Aller isn't on this list. This will create a wrinkle this weekend for sure.

You have to go to the second page of QB Efficiency Rankings on NCAA.com to find Drew Allar at No. 74.

74 is certainly no Moore.😁

Arch Manning is slowly creeping his way back up after his Uncle Peyton-like performance against Sam Houston State.

The Arch in Texas has not been golden. 😁

After a nap, next up for Archie is a team with a real D that cannot score points; Florida in the Swamp. The Florida D shut down Nussmeier and the LSU O, and did the same thing for most of the game to Carson Beck and Miami.

JJ, here are three a great 5's for Allar

It's not Aller I am worried about. I worry about Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen bringing a sledge hammer to our run defense.

Agreed. And evidently Penn St has been toying with outside runs instead of between the tackles during their first three games, so stats may be misleading.

And they have played Nevada, FIU and Villinova.

I'm not saying that we have played great competition to date but we have certainly played better competition and better athletes.

Montana State may be FCS but they played a disciplined game. They are 2-2 right now with their only losses being to FBS teams.

Oklahoma State is bad but they have some larger players on the line of scrimmage. But they are still very bad.

Northwestern is a Big Ten team though not a top tier Big Ten team. They have some bigger linemen some play makers but not a great team but I think they will surprise someone this season.

Oregon State is also bad but they are improving week-on-week... kinda. But they could probably beat Villinova at football and probably Nevada. They should have beaten Fresno State but they couldn't manage to figure out special teams. They are a G6 team for sure.

Both teams have padded the stats a bit for sure but we have played slightly better opponents than Penn State to date.

Interesting list that has zero old guard B1G teams that aren’t tOSU or a team with a new coach.

I’d flip some of the conversations circulating in the world and start taking a look at our pass defense efficiency. Hasn’t our goal always been to make teams one dimensional? Our pass defense has been so good teams getting blown out that should be airing it out have been unwilling or unable to do so.

I believe Beavis threw for almost 300 against a very good Texas Tech on the road a week before us, but only managed 80 yards at Autzen on 7/22 passing.

Give me a one dimensional, caveman football team to defend any day of the week!

Yikes. And what percentage of those completions and TDs were to TE Tyler Warren, who is now in the NFL?

Penn State might beat Oregon on Saturday night but I would be shocked if it were due to Allar and the passing game…
