Number 1 QB prospect Jared Curtis is said to be flipping to Vanderbilt according to insiders on DawgNation. I kinda saw this coming, but it’s still disappointing. Oh well, hopefully he is making the right decision for his future and his family.

Vandy? Coach Clark Lee is a good coach, and his contract has been extended.

But where was Vandy before the arrival of Don Diego and OC Tim Beck from New Mexico State?

Maybe Curtis is preparing not to play in the NFL? As you well know, the Dawgs have a few more guys playing in the NFL than the Commodores.

If Jared wants to stay in-state, he might want to volunteer for Tennessee.

I can't think of any reason for him to go Vanderbilt of all places over Georgia other than they backed up the truck and gave him twice as much NIL or something. That's just nuts if this is true.

I’m honestly thinking that he has indeed flipped and is likely annoyed that it was leaked before he could announce it. Time will tell the tale though.

Good gosh...you are such a classy guy SoGaDawg, as you are handling this much better than I would...

I couldn’t blame him for wanting to play for the home team. It’s also a great school, which is still important to some, and they have shown that they can compete in the SEC.

Of course, even if he signed with Vandy, he could be playing somewhere else as early as next season…

Sounds like big NIL money to me.

I do think that this is a big possibility. It could be that he wants to stay home, but I wouldn’t doubt Vandy boosters having opened up their checkbooks so to speak. They have gotten a little taste of success, and it certainly tastes good! Either way, I can’t blame either. I do hope it works out for him whatever he decides, but I honestly think his QB career would be better served in Athens.

However this goes, it’s been a tough day for UGA recruiting! Jarmaine Mitchell has just flipped from UGA to Arizona State. Mitchell is the number 1 overall juco recruit on 247. Another disappointing happening as we could all always use another stud offensive lineman! Not a huge surprise, but you can never have enough depth on the OL!

So it’s official, Curtis decides to stay home and play early as a Commodore.

Vanderbilt is RiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiCH!!!!! One should expect them to be upper echelon for the foreseeable future. This Industry is getting flattened out just like the NFL. We may see a few teams at the top in blocks of 2-3 years but it’s going to be anybody in the top 15 can win it all. We might be there already.

No offense to our Dawg friends, as a lot of us root for ya’ll when our teams aren’t playing, but you won’t find a whole lot of sympathy here. Georgia still has the most talented roster in college football and I’m sure you’ll reload with a top, experienced, battle tested transfer portal QB.

Now go beat the #%&@ out of Bama! I want to see the politicking kick into high gear down south come Saturday evening. LOL.

Absolutely no offense taken, and really it’s not a huge deal for me anyway. It is very disappointing to have lost Curtis, but there is likely a good reason he is staying home. Could be money, or family, or whatever. I do wish him well, at least until we play him.

Seriously though, I’m fussing about nothing. Kirby has taken our recruiting to extreme heights, so I’ve got nothing to fuss about on that front. I trust him and our staff.

I would say the same for Lanning. I was very disappointed to see him leave, but very happy to see him take the job in Eugene. You guys also have a great HC, and he seems to love coaching The Ducks!!!

Hopefully we will beat Bama, but I’m certainly nervous about it! I do think we are the better team, but Bama has certainly had our number! I’m thinking that changes, but we will see.
