At this moment I think the Miami Hurricanes media guy is tearing up all the proposed drafts of suggestions for what Mario should say when asked about his Oregon experience...

Glad Harkey, 71, is a senior.

I like Moore, he is just part of the problem, but he can’t read defenses. No improvement the whole year.

No.

One bright note is that whenever the Natty does happen in a future year, I'll have the ability to afford to go to that game.

I couldn't this year and I was a little bummed about not being able to go if they made it.

No.

I believe this stat is correct:

41 starts - Carson Beck, Miami

34 starts - Mendoza, Indiana

22 starts - Moore, Oregon

In addition to Mendoza, Indiana has 4, 5, 6 year guys across all the 11 starters on offense. Maybe a third year junior, but no underclassmen.

Lanning keeps hiring young coaches that can recruit but will continue to get out coached in the biggest games against more experienced staffs.

That’s one of the reasons why I thought letting Mike Cavenaugh go to OSU was a mistake. He is an extremely experienced OL coach and probably a big reason why the line was so good the first couple years under DL. After he left I feel like the line lost a step.

I feel like he’s a high floor/low ceiling guy, Isaiah World to a lesser extent.

This. Every time I've seen Dante's face this season I haven't seen any kind of look in his eye that signals killer instinct like we've seen with Bo and Dillon. No snarl, no angry look. Just deer in headlights.

Agreed. If I'm playing I'd be pissed off. Not in a destructive manner, but with fire my team could see

That, believe it or not is coachable too ( delicately, but it's possible).

Look guys, there are who we thought they were. And we are too. Long enough corrections were necessary in November.

We let them off the hook because the analysts either aren't loudly calling for corrections, or the don't see the trends properly.

Im not a QB whisperer. But I played QB. It's constant repetition even when you're already money.

Saban used to coach explosive passes by their ability to score TDs. That's the kind of diagnosis I'm talking about. I used to think that all the time. Didn't know coaches also feel that way, much less coach it ( that's why Saban is the the GOAT...not me!!!)

I resisted this for a while, but I'm now convinced that experienced, expensive portal QBs are how titles are won. Indiana and Miami have them. We had them the prior few years. Indiana already secured one for next year. Dante is a transfer but not an experienced ready-made product one. You have to have a seasoned, polished, top QB or you don't have a chance.

I wouldn't use that strategy. Moore has enough talent to "whip butt". These are tendencies picked up before this year.

I would drill the hell out of pocket maneuvering with a guy with this kind of arm talent.

There are probably 150 QBs in the history of football as google as Justin Herbert. When you have a guy with those natural abilities, they still need to be developed.

Josh Allen was a average in college with his coach. Think about that. He has a string arm, has sub par WRs, a so so OL. Look at him now. That's coaching. And the Bills were not works beaters until he showed up.

QBs need to constantly be developed. Even Mendoza ( and let me tell you, he was coaches I to making the okays he makes, so was that damn Fuskies Michael Penix ).

QB Smith Jr should be great. He has that kind of upside. So I expect him to be Great. That should happen.

No.

Third Q stats:

260 yds offense - Oregon

289 yds offense - Indiana

Doesn't seem possible.

168 yds passing - Moore

174 yds passing - Mendoza

I know Moore needs another season or maybe 2, but he lacks the killer instinct of a #1 QB... He is not even near Trinidad Chambliss in that aspect

Agreed. Develop it then.

Just when I thought we couldn't have another horrible error...

Dan, if you own a Mercedes, please turn it in.

The next time you are invited to Atlanta, come up with, I don't know, a broken clavicle?

As we said in Boston for decades, "Wait 'till next year."

15 new starters with a 20-year-old QB, and you finish 13-2.

Heck of a season. And on 1/19, in Cig and his Hoosiers, I'm believing.
