Jimmy joe No. 3 Share Posted December 7, 2021 (edited) Miami will wipe their a$$ with Mario in a few seasons, he’s maybe a better recruiter, but he’s not a head coach, he road the coat tails of Justin Herbert here for his two best seasons, was Pac 12 champs last year by default, and clunked their way to 10 wins this year in a conference that is a shell what it usually is… I think he knows it, he’ll Probly not have an opportunity like this again, so he jumps… good for him, but Miami’s expectations are way up there, I think he’ll feel the heat sooner than later… Edited December 7, 2021 by Jimmy joe

Duck 1972 No. 5 Share Posted December 7, 2021 Wonder if USC contacted OU. From the way I heard it it was a complete surprise. Also the breaking up of the Big 12 by Texas and Oklahoma to join the sec was the same. Sign of the times. I guess everybody needs a contingency plan now. nw777b No. 6 Share Posted December 7, 2021 Miami has a decommit, as well. Sports is just another version of a soap opera.
Haywarduck Moderator No. 7 Share Posted December 7, 2021 Miami's recruiting class is already at #11, Mario strength, one talent, isn't what they needed, oh well. He is a salesman and they bought what he was selling. Saban is a salesman too. He sells kids on things he delivers. He told Trevon Diggs he would be the best DB in football, Trevon was pissed, wanted to be a receiver. Saban delivered and all was good. Saban has done this over and over. Cristobal just says what players, families, fans and alumni want to hear, big difference. He didn't deliver, just a sales job.

HappyToBeADuck No. 9 Share Posted December 7, 2021 Miami fans will be happy to go 10-2 and play in the ACC Championship for 3 or 4 years..... They will have forgotten Diaz and how poorly he was treated. MC will find out that Clemson will never be an easy out. And as Charles has preached for the last few years..... You need 45 points a game or more from the offense. Then our problem (34 points per game) will be their problem.
toketeeman No. 10 Share Posted December 7, 2021 So we have a coach leaving us who can't coach joining an athletic department that mis-treats its coach. Sounds like a marriage made in heaven.

Even back in 1996, the disgusting "Bob Sugar" had it right: "It's not show friends, it's show business." It's not a world I like, but it's the world we all too often live in.
