  2. If Dante leaves for the NFL I would prefer Leavitt over Raiola. If Dante stays then Raiola since he's indicated the willingness to sit for a year. At the end of the day the chips will just fall where they may and Drew will need to adjust appropriately. That being said, if they're running the same offense next season I feel like it does better with a true dual threat QB. Nix did it the best, Gabriel was pretty good too. Dante unfortunately is a pure pocket passer, he doesn't do much with his legs other than a handful of designed QB runs and even then he's pretty slow despite him not being a huge guy.
  3. Resigned Kansas State coach Chris Klieman discusses why he "retired." Portal management got to him. https://themercury.com/k_state_sports/id-die-if-i-kept-doing-this-job-former-k-state-fb-coach-talks-about/article_213a7517-5d35-4d71-9658-4f97136a52ce.html Obviously Saban has talked about the current state of affairs. Saban was 3-3 in his 6 CFP championship games. It makes one wonder whether his record would have been impacted if he had the constant churn of roster that coaches face today? Would his teams have made 6 appearances? He always lost guys to the NFL, but what if he was also losing 15-20 more guys voluntarily entering the portal? (As of this morning with Moga, Oregon has 15 guys that entered)
  4. Moga entered the portal?? I completely missed that! He'd probably be a good fit in the Big12, maybe with even with Texas Tech.
  5. It is great to look for the positives, but I simply observed that OBD were seriously outplayed and out coached in the 2 most important games in the last 2 seasons. In most of the games against better teams, our offense struggled. Our stats got improved playing Montana State and Oklahoma State, and we get Portland State next season, but against decent foes we were less than impressive. Looking forward to a new OC.
  6. Moga entered the portal on Sunday, joining Novosad. So, Dante is coming back? Or, they are pretty confident someone else is coming in to step in front of them? Akili Jr. is on the roster waiting. Bryson Beaver is coming in as a freshman who would seem unlikely to step in front.

  9. ESPN's First Look at the Champ Game - ESPN.comCFP National Championship first look: Previewing Miami-In...How either Miami or Indiana can win the title, plus X factors for both teams.
  10. It seems LSU is moving on from Leavitt. This could be due to the Demond Williams debacle or Leavitt wanting to wait and see what happens with Dante. He could also sign with Miami. He is visiting them right now. Husan Longstreet is also in play for OBD, but Kiffin is hosting him this weekend. There are options if Moore goes pro. Raiola would be the least favorable because he’s still recovering from a knee injury which is why he might be willing to sit behind Dante as the article states.
  11. In reading the entire article, I realized that I skimmed over that Raiola was on campus! That's a pretty big deal. Definitely some mutual interest. Oregon is becoming QB-U for the NFL and people are noticing.
  12. Could be a best case scenario for us, but also could blow up and push Dante to the NFL. Everything hinges on him--if he bails then we're all in with Raiola as QB1, but I'm just not convinced he's the guy to lead us. Of course DM was damaged goods when he came here and despite his playoff struggles he's still had a great year. Of course the coaches are much better talent evaluators than any of us, so if this is the call then I'm on board 100%.
  13. As well as his paycheck if he comes back.
  14. I wasn’t talking about Chip. I was talking about Mario using the strategy of slowing the game down against Indiana. Much like what Ohio State did to the 2002 Miami team that was heavily favored and had a huge talent gap.
  15. I know defenses have caught up with HUNH schemes but I would like to see a dual threat QB coming in. Without time to throw, Dante does not make many plays on his own. Raiola is also a dropback QB. With the OC and the DC promoted from within, will we see any changes to OBD's schemes on offense and defense? Except for Leavitt and Raiola, the top rated QBs are off the board. Oregon has been quiet on the transfer front. Many of the highest rated LB, OL, and DL guys in the portal have been signed. What's the strategy for next season? Are there guys on the roster who can step into starting roles and play well without starting experience? Poncho is back, thank goodness, but Pickard is gone as are Pregnon, World, and Hardy. I have faith in Dan and his process and I hope promoting from within, and standing pat in the portal, except for bringing in a punter and long snapper to date, works out.
  16. Dante's stock may be higher in the portal?
  17. This is not surprising. This could be the situation that pushes Dante Moore into the NFL Draft IMHO. Raiola would be real competition and Moore could not afford to lose out and be QB2 . The real question in my mind is which of these two can respond in a positive fashion when things are not going well? I fear that Dante Moore under pressure like the two Indiana games does not respond well.
  18. According to this article and "sources", Oregon is pursuing Raiola and he will sit behind Dante if Dante returns. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/dante-moore-dylan-raiola-oregon-qb-room-2026-transfer-portal/
  19. I remember another group of misfits that won a championship with 95% of the team undervalued, the 77 BLAZERS. I dont think anybody will stop Indiana. But Ive been wrong before.
  20. Hopefully Dante will let the Ducks know where he is at by Monday, personally I think he should have made his decision by now.
  21. Love for Cig and the Hoosiers - Scarlet and GameCBS Sports sends Ohio State, Michigan, and UGA clear mess...CBS Sports' John Talty and Shehan Jeyarajah believe the 2025 Indiana Hoosiers are the most dominant CFB team in years.
  22. Cheer Up! Chin Up! OBD will likely be favored in every game next season, but for the visit to Columbus - https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/01/11/oregon-football-early-look-2026-opponents-schedule/88119677007/?utm_source=smg-duckswire-strada&utm_medium=email&utm
  23. Or bending one over your knee, throwing it into the adjacent fairway and observing the boomerang effect.
  24. I think the most disappointing part of Friday was playing so far below the standard and getting steamrolled by a more mature roster and coaching staff. Hard to admit it, but I'm convinced after watching the game that even without the avalanche of OBD turnovers, coaching drama, RB injuries and transfers, Indiana likely would have won. They may not have "better" players, but they executed with near perfection and are the better team. Looking at the IPA glass half full, Oregon will be fine going forward. I'm hopeful DM comes back as he remains the best option at QB. The raw talent is there and he only needs seasoning and a good OC and QB coach to thrive. Regardless of who returns, both sides of the ball should be ok. There is a lot of talent ready to step up and portal additions will fill in the gaps. At the start of 2025, many were predicting a 10-2 or 9-3 regular season. Making the CFP was the goal. The Ducks exceeded those expectations. The focus was on 2026 and still should be. Personally I'm going to let the sting subside and leave the wound to heal.
  25. I've pretty much decided to skip over mourning and jump ahead to looking forward to reading about spring practices, the spring game, and enjoying next season.
  26. How about a Three-Peat!
  27. He's far too intelligent to play the stupid game. 😁
