‘They Carried Us’: Oregon Offense Praises Defense After Shutout Win Oregon’s offense openly praised the Ducks’ dominant defense after a shutout win over Texas Tech in the Orange Bowl, calling it one of the best defensive performances in program history.

Awesome day for our defense. Looking ahead to Indiana (who is cruising to victory to be the first long-layoff team to win), I agree with the following comments from others here: "Our offense has got to figure some things out before we play our next game. 1 offensive TD on a short 5 yard field, is not going to cut it next time." "If Oregon has to play Indiana, Dante needs to fix his happy feet or the result will be the same as the October game." We'll be facing a very similar defense against Indiana, with a dominant, disruptive front. Our offense is better overall today than when we played them the first time, but there were some troubling tendencies today that looked a bit like that first Indiana game. Lots of miscues on offense and an inability (for the most part) to respond well to the pressure. Defense carried the load this game, offense needs to get better for a very similar defense next week.

The long layoff bug is very real, they need to change the format. But it doesn't appear to be bothering Indiana much (at least after the 1st quarter). I think Indiana is the top team in this playoff (other than Oregon). I'd love to have the layoff bug bite Indiana and play Alabama in the next round, but there appears to be zero chance of that happening.

No. 5 Oregon's Orange Bowl shutout of No. 4 Texas Tech shouldn't overshadow QB Dante Moore's poor playWhile the Oregon defense was simply sensational with four turnovers, its offense left a lot to be desired. The Ducks were 4-of-19 on third down and had 15 first downs the entire game. Fortunately for them, quarterback Behren Morton (18-of-32 for 137 yards and two interceptions) and the Red Raiders offense were even worse, paving the way for a comfortable College Football Playoff quarterfinal win.

Well... I don't think Indiana's defense is going to be any easier than TT's. Next game, if our offense doesn't show up, we'll be headed home.

Our Defense got a lot of help by their QB's incompletions. And I can't fathom why we would continue running into the middle of their defense and also risking Dante with runs, most or all of which did not get a first down. He was limping at one point in the 2nd half. Shaking my head.

Dan Lanning has brought a trophy back home to Eugene in every year he has coached at Oregon. Chip would’ve done the same if the Pac-12 gave out trophies prior to 2011.
