  1. Past hour
  2. I think many of the conversations were probably prompted by the players much sooner than this last couple of days, since we had a slug of defensive backs who were not going to play anytime soon declare for the portal a month ago. And Dan goes out and gets the No. 1 Portal Safety.... Whew!
  3. John Canzano has no idea how entertaining his mailbag of questions are....for the wrong reasons. Q: What’s the proactive Pac-12 move for the next cycle? — JP A: I’d stay busy seducing Washington, Cal, and UCLA. Stay in their ears. Keep whispering. Do it privately, not publicly. The new-world Pac-12 should absolutely focus on doing the best business it can do in this new era, but given that we’re going to see another round of chaos when the current media deals are up (and maybe even before), I wouldn’t stop being proactive on the expansion front. The Pac-12 is now officially a Group-of-Six league, and their media contract is 7 million a year. Oregon and Washington are going to get 54 million from the Big-10, and that is with a half share of media revenue. (A big chunk from the Playoffs, on a full percentage) Actually believing that Washington, and in particular UCLA, who is on a FULL share would leave the Big-10 for the Pac-12?
  4. Yes, that's how it works. Some coaches are absolute trash in how they do it (see a certain worshipped fake coach in Colorado) and others are probably more direct and decent about it. This is big business and coffee is for closers, for lack of a better phrase.
  5. I am no insider, but I imagine that a frank conversation about potential playing time is had with all. Some may not like what they hear and look for an opportunity to play more, elsewhere. I look forward to hearing from other OBD fans with more insight!
  6. Are some of the departures asked to leave, to make room?
  7. Today
  8. James Crepea note after Green...this evening Even with 14 defensive transfers, plus 3 outgoing seniors and potentially a starting safety to the NFL, Oregon would return 6 of its top 8 tacklers. Also 8 of top 11 and 10 of top 14.
  9. transfer portal is open Jan. 2 until Jan. 16, with an extra five-day window (Jan. 20-24) for Indiana and Miami because they are playing in the national championship game on Jan. 19.
  10. Nick Duzansky the backup long snapper also leaving. Not sure he was on scholarship.
  11. Saleapaga and Green become No. 24 and No. 25 defensive linemen Xadavien Sims, Ashton Porter, Jericho Johnson, Tionne Gray, and now Green receivers Justius Lowe, Kyler Kasper and Cooper Perry, defensive backs Jahlil Florence, Dakoda Fields, Solomon Davis, Sione Laulea, Kingston Lopa and Daylen Austin, quarterbacks Austin Novosad and Luke Moga, offensive lineman Lipe Moala, running backs Jay Harris, Makhi Hughes and Jayden Limar, outside linebackers Kamar Mothudi, Blake Purchase and Tobi Hasstrup, tight end Vander Ploog and Roger Saleapaga
  12. I thought Johnson, announced for the NFL draft?
  13. I'm hoping The Trophy doesn't stay in Vegas. 😉 I want to see it headed northwest to Eugene.
  14. He is a weapon returning kicks and punts. An all-around outstanding athlete. Great addition who was predicted to go to Texas Tech or Texas A&M. Koi will be swimming in a B1Gger, better pond. 😁 Here's some more from ESPN - ESPN.comSources: Ducks land ex-Gophers star safety PerichFormer Minnesota safety Koi Perich has committed to Oregon, sources told ESPN on Monday, confirming a report by CBS Sports.
  15. After wasting her time in Jersey, she finally has a chance to get a good education. Welcome Aboard! Fairways & Greens!
  16. When such a large percentage of D1 players hit the portal, having less than 50% leave because of expired eligibility, NFL aspirations, or portal out, is pretty good. Then it becomes a personnel juggling act. It really requires a solid player management coordinator to feed information to our coaching staff. My understanding is that our last one went to Kentucky with Stein.
  17. THIS is a good pickup! I didn't watch many Minnesota games, but the few I watched, this guy was always mentioned!
  18. DrJacksPlaidPants, Jack, You wrote the following: 2022: 10-3 Holiday Bowl champs (not bad considering first game against UGA). 2023: 12-2 Fiesta Bowl champs (lost to the NCG runner-up by a total of six points). 2024: 13-1 B1G champs (lost in quarterfinal to eventual national champion). 2025: 14-1 Orange Bowl champs (won 1st round and quarterfinal, but lost semifinal). Correction: 2025: OBD are 13-2. 14-1 would have been great, but our QB telegraphed that first pass. DM did not review the field he faced; he looked at only one receiver, the one to whom he intended to pass the ball. It was an easy but fatal mistake to make. VR, KCDuck1<
  19. The 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Um, Go Ducks!, if you know what I mean!
  20. Kiara Romero was ranked #1 amateur in the world last year, and won the BIG 10 title as a sophomore. If you ever have a chance follow the women if they have a match in Eugene. For those that play golf, it instantly smooths out your swing just watching them fire at the pins. My claim to fame for Oregon golf was that I qualified 10th at the golf team tryouts in the late seventies, shooting 149 (36 holes))from the back tees at Emerald Valley.
  21. The Midwest has notoriously bad winters. January and February are the worst months, by far. Snow isn't even the worst. It's the rainy, 38 degree days. That turns to freezing rain, and black ice. The wind chill rolls through you, no matter how layered you think you are sufficiently, you're not. Huge alumni bases everywhere. Trust me, I've seen them in Florida, Texas, California, Arizona, North Carolina. From Iowa, to Michigan, to Ohio State, Penn State, and now Indiana in football. Anywhere you go, you probably have a midwestern B1G alumnus or fan as a neighbor.

  23. As Coach Cig has said, this is all kind of surreal. Indiana grad, Saturday Down South's Connor O'Gara, wholeheartedly agrees. Do not be surprised if more Indiana fans are rocking hard in Hard Rock than the Canes' fans. Saturday Down SouthI'm an Indiana graduate who still can't find the words to...IU's run to the College Football Playoff National Championship is hard to fathom for plenty of folks, most notably IU grads.
