  2. FWIW. Returning starters in 2026. In 2025, Clemson and Penn State were among the teams with the most starters returning. 😁 This season, a team that was favored in its bowl game and came up with a B1G choke in Texas, USC, has the most returning starters. With unchecked free agency in CFB, how you picked the portal may matter more than the guys coming back. Returning production means very little if the guys returning did not produce in 2025. With 14 starters back, Oregon is in a six-way tie for 2nd place. Quite a turnaround for OBD from last season. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-returning-production-2026-returning-starters-fbs/
  3. As bad as the Ducks season was, look no further than former PAC-12 member Arizona State. They just got pummeled by Iowa State 91-42!!! And they only scored 16 first half points. Bobby Hurley is on his way out. Who's next?

  12. I'll trust Lanning but with fingers crossed. Between the personnel on the rosters and the teams recent and projected future success, they could have any QB coach or OC they want. If Lanning believes that he has the coaches he wants, I have to believe it for now. As an outsider, it seems like they could have done better but what do I know?
  13. Cavanaugh was an analyst in his last stint with Oregon. This time he's listed as an assistant OL coach.
  14. Well I am glad that it is "over"! Injuries, yea ok, but the absolute worst mens BB team since I have been here (1993). Let's hope for a roster rebuild (but wasn't what this year was suppose to be) and just chalk this o year up as the 'lost year" for Oregon BB. GOOD LUCK over the next 7 months. Go Ducks?

  16. I am glad to see Cavanaugh back, but he is an analyst, not an assistant coach as Coach Terry is. Thanks for posting the article, as it answered our earlier questions...will Mehringer be both TEs coach and OC, or QB coach and OC? The answer is neither, as he will just be the OC, and they hired Koa Ka'ai for QB coach, (who I know nothing about) and the new tight ends coach is Jack Smith. (Who I also know nothing about) But I trust in Lanning!
  17. An athlete trained in Rugby or Australian Rules Football knows how to drop-kick. Oregon has a kicker from Australia - James Ferguson-Reynolds from Geelong, Australia. If he can "Just Do It" what a weapon!

  20. One under the radar hire that really sticks out: Mike Cavanaugh has returned as an assistant OL coach. I love Coach Terry, he's young, energetic, and smart. But all of that just can't replace experience which Coach Cavanaugh has in spades. I thought the OL performance took a step back when he left for the Beavos, so I'm excited to see how the line will improve in the upcoming season. 21. Short answer... Yes... Lanning is going to have something in his back pocket to use or abuse this rule. He's that kind of coach and we love him for it. Go for it Mad Man Dan!
  22. The Drop-Kick is a lost art, and this rule could revive interest in it. Problem is...those who did it well have long since passed.
  23. Amen. In tournaments you need a fourth or fifth pitcher as you progress, and often it is at crunch time. This was an important building block of confidence for him because he almost blew the first inning. But he came back and gradually refined his control and then really did well.
  24. This season was very much a Founders Club food as the main draw over the on court play.
  25. Jon, factoring in what Indiana built in one season is not possible. The issue is not predictability. It’s fairness. Under present rules, where a coach like Cignetti can take his whole team from one conference to another, even Rutgers can win the B1G. What happened for Indiana fans, and may still be happening, gives hope to the least successful programs. I only want the schedule to provide every school the same opportunity. The conferences control the schedule, but not much else.
  26. Let's Twist again like we did last ball game, let's twist again, Twisting time is here! 😁
  27. Pretty dominating performance by Twist. If he can keep this up he will be a great middle reliever/emergency starter come playoff time. This team looks like they could be very special if their pitching cuts down on their free passes. Really good hitting and potentially really good pitching, not a bad combo.
