2025 Football Poll Rankings (2)
The fact Miami struggled with FSU, and payed Oregon in the polls, probably is like a gnat buzzing in your ear... Annoying, but knowing Mario, he'll find a way to litter his own nest.

I Am EASILY AMUSED...Funnies & Facts
Oh it could get worse... They have Northwestern this Saturday. If they lose that game then Franklin is going to get Kiffened, fired on the tarmac and not allowed to get on the bus home... but this is a home game for Penn State so I guess the equivalent to that is firing him in the tunnel and locking him out of the lockeroom.

A great reminder it can always be worse..well, maybe not for Penn State, but it can always be worse..

Oregon Rank is Pretty Low
I'm with Charles. It's relative. I'm a manager that hires from time to time and all the B1G school carry prestige for their graduates. At least we're accredited unlike Nebraska, the only team below them.

Sources: Big Ten Mulling $2B Private Capital Deal
Kentucky has moved its Athletic Department from under the university umbrella and into a newly formed Limited Liability Company. In the pursuit of cash, one size will not fit all. OBD fans are blessed to have an Athletic Department in the black. If you look across the landscape of B1G schools, this is the exception and not the rule. Where else could many unsuccessful 'subsidiaries' have their 'parent company' valued at $40 billion? Private capital puts up $2 billion for 5%, with the 5% going away in 2046. Of course, beware the details, but on its face, it looks like a good deal, one that will deliver funds to flat-broke UCLA athletic department. But any deal will not happen, of course, without sign-offs from Ohio State and Michigan.

I Am EASILY AMUSED...Funnies & Facts
Once upon a time, Jeffery came off the bench, replaced the injured DTR at QB, and took down Texas. I know, Texas, right?😁 In studio on Saturday, Dad Rick had to apologize to PSU fans for losing any semblance of objectivity. I LOVE both your and Charles' takes. 😎

Are You Reconsidering Your Respect for the CFB 'Experts?'
I've not given pundits, "experts" much validity since Charles started 'Fishduck.com'. I used to think Herbstreit knew his stuff. But learning about Chip's offense from this site made me realize that KH had no clue what the Ducks were doing! I've learned so much from all the contributions here that it's obvious that the "experts" are merely repeating popular talking points. They are still stuck in the '80's for football success. Only the SEC and a few "Bluebloods" can win it all. Now, with NIL, the portal, and all athletes getting paid, 'above board', the old school elites no longer have an advantage. They can no longer store up blue-chip players and hold onto deep rosters. Now you can actually play at Cincinnati, or Vanderbilt, etc, get exposure AND make $$$. Preseason rankings based on last year are now invalid because every year is now a new roster. E.g. how many teams are starting a new transfer QB! Anyway, I laugh at preseason polls. But I love my OBD community!

Florida Beats Texas! Congrats to GatOrlando!
TBH, my son lived in Vegas for more 10 years... During that span, I hit the spotrs to bet college football ball exactly once. In the week before the 2010 season began, i bet $20 on Oregon to go 12-0. My lack of faith cost me a bundle, as long 20 to 1 odds... i had enough spare cash to put down $150 or more, but chickened out. Guess I'm not a gambler, eh?

I can't remember that last time that I've seen a team drop from #2 to #28 inside of 9 days.

Oregon Broke Penn State
How much did the internet scuttlebutt suggest Uncle Phil paid Franklin to throw the game? You know some idiots believe that shite!

Oregon Broke Penn State
LOL. There are Penn State fans asking the same thing about Coach Franklin.

I Am EASILY AMUSED...Funnies & Facts
LOL. I thought UCLA went up to the student section before the game and asked if anyone (all 10 of them) wanted to call plays for them today. This is the only dude who raised his hand.

Don’t forget to add Mike Riley and Oregon State’s HC names to the list. LOL.

If he did, then the spy was a double agent.

Oregon Broke Penn State
Through the first 4 games, UCLA scored 57 points, total (14.3 PPG). Against Penn State, UCLA scored 42 points.

I watched Franklin's post game and they did put a spy on him. But... Either the spy wiffed their tackled on Nico or Nico caught them on a play they went man and didn't have a spy. I don't know how actually true that is or isn't but that's what Franklin said. Penn State Washington without a stating linebacker who was really one of the primary communicators. However, Moore ran for some important yards and first downs against a full strength Penn State defense. So their defense has problems.

I'm not sure Day was glad to see him go in that sense. From a bunch of sources I have read/listened to was really the Day and Knowles had run their course. Day had become more of a micro manger and Knowles lost some of his autonomy. Warranted or not... That sort of thing gets old fast. So we'll see what happens at Penn State. Personally, I'm not sure he is the best DC in college football but the media loves saying it and Knowles is getting paid like the best DC so he better have answers.
