  2. Makhi Hughes and Dillion Thieneman. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Oregon running back Makhi Hughes and defensive back Dillon Thieneman were named to the 2025 Walter Camp preseason all-America second team on Tuesday morning. Both transfers. Let's hope some home grown make the list after the season.
  3. Respectfully, I would say that the PIG-2 entering a scheduling agreement in bad faith with the MWC, and then turning around and strategically poaching MWC members, and then legally fighting poaching fees they agreed to is calling out their hypocrisy, not bullying. IMO the PIG-2 are classic bullies. Can’t compete with someone supposedly in your weight class? Go kick some sand in the face of someone you think can compete with.
  4. It has been a full year since OSU/WSU were left because of the football business decisions they made. They are making the best of their "now" situation. They are not stealing anything from any school, since every other PAC 12 team left of their own free will. I remember when the Ducks hadn't yet left for the B1G about discussions leaving USC and UCLA out of PAC 12 payments. The PAC 12 is still a brand name and OSU/WSU are using that. Not that 30 million per school is a little amount, but Oregon will make up the 30 mil in 1 or 2 years? However, OSU and WSU have to deal with being an afterthought probably forever. The bullying of OSU and WSU is kicking a dead horse at this point. Oregon is in a much better financial place, to be angry at OSU/WSU for trying to make lemonade out of lemons........

  7. Rece Davis agrees, CFB needs collective bargaining. But why would the athletes who have everything in their favor agree to bargain anything away? Join the 'Union' or you can't play? How would this work in right-to-work states? One Union for all sports? The Moneyball sports only? Do revenue sports have the same issues as nonrevenue sports? Rece Davis suggests 'only answer' to stop college football tampering is collective bargaining WWW.ON3.COM . Atlas Shrugged, no more athletic scholarships, every sport is a club sport, may be the only way to force Congress to provide schools with relief from litigation. How do you decide who is in the Union, who manages the Union, and what constitutes Management?
  8. I actually think it's pretty cool when all the fans are wearing the same color. Like Penn St's white out. Problem with Oregon is they have so many color combinations that it's hard to get the whole stadium on board. I guess that's the drawback to being trendsetters.
  9. I think you meant to say still some meat on the bone as an analogy.

  12. Scouting Report: Koloi Keli Scott Reed, June 30, 2025 I think all will enjoy reading this scouting report from Scott Reed, now his new home at Ducks Sport Central. He writes in part: "Koloi Keli might not turn heads immediately with eye-popping measurables, but once the tape rolls, it’s clear he’s one of the most physically dominant linemen in his class. At around 6-2 and 290 pounds, Keli has a naturally compact build that lends itself well to interior line play. His combination of foot speed, heavy hands, and nastiness stands out, and he brings a relentless attitude to every snap." "Keli’s recruiting profile may not match the star-studded metrics fans often obsess over, but he’s a “stock-up” prospect with a high ceiling. His blend of quick feet, strong hands, lateral agility, and finishing mentality makes him a true enforcer in the trenches. With continued development and a move inside, he could become a long-term starter and culture-setter for Oregon’s offensive line." further reading in this scouting report he also talks about Keli’s Run Blocking, Pass Protection, Technique and Tools, Physicality and Mentality, Projection. 18. Two observations surfaced since I wrote my original post about Keli. 1) It was noted on another site and by EastBayDuckdad above that he could be moved to center, as apparently he has that quickness and mobility. This makes sense because when Hroniss Grasu left HS as a 3-Star...he was just under 260 pounds and certainly not ready. Yet by first game as a freshman...he was up to 285 pounds, and while that was light--he was perfect for our Spread Offense where he would pull and lead the way on Outside Zones for LaMichael James. Later he got up to 305 pounds, but the point is--he did not look the part as a HS senior to play immediately at the college level. I was a bit too dismissive of him...my bad. 2) The only other P2 team offering was Michigan State? I brushed past that, and then remembered later that it was Jonathan Smith offering him, and THAT means something. Beavis was SO BAD when he took over and he could not recruit Blue-Chippers, but he was exceptional at seeing upside and developing OSU into a very good team. It always seemed that he found running backs out of nowhere that were better than our highly rated ones...So my point is if Coach Smith wanted him--he saw upside, and our coaches were able to seal-the-deal.
  19. Are we stealing their color before we stop playing them for a long time?
  20. We've gone from stealing 4 and 5 star players from USC to stealing 3 and 4 star players from Cal. It is what it is. The portal is our future in 2-3 years time again or we're not going to have a enough blue chips to fill a roster. That is what it is as well. We shall have to wait and see how it plays out, relying on other other teams to develop our future players. These next 2 years are a short window where our top 5 recruiting classes give us a chance to be truly special. They can't be wasted with mediocre QB play. I really hope Stein and Lanning aren't full of wishful thinking about Moore and Novasad, that they truly are better than anyone we could have gotten in the portal. And I hope Terry can put together a dominant OL with the talent he brought in. I really wasn't happy with how our O line was last year, nor how poor their evaluations were about how players would perform in games.
  21. Keep Hawaii in the recruiting rotation. He will live in the weight room for at least two years, and potentially be a 6’ 4” 320 guy. Still a pretty large human.
  22. I agree! I believe another three star recruit choose Oregon and he turned out rather well. As the quarterback and multisport star at Eugene’s Sheldon High School, Herbert became an ESPN three-star recruit.. His potential college destination was Portland State or maybe another division II college. Sometimes kids don't make all the elite camps, others may have had an injury which prevented being seen in those camps. Some kids may not be able to afford those all star teams and camps. If Dan Lanning and A'lique Terry want him, I'll trust them.
  23. I think I am probably alone in my distaste of someone deciding what I should wear to a game. It seems to be a thing for all sports. I know that "I" need to choose what I wear, as the combination I choose will more than likely determine the outcome of the game. ( It has nothing to do with my distaste of being told what to do)
  24. Watched his film on 24/7. Plays with an attitude and is pretty quick with good feet. Got away with some grabby stuff on several plays that would get called at the next level. Ran over DBs with ease. Undersized for a OT so even with 20 lbs added he'll be a IOL. Same HS as Pancho, maybe a center for OBD when he gets here. Good pick up and probably better than the 3☆ rating
  25. Wow, this pitching coach hire is a home run! Is that good?
  26. Sounds like a great hire... “Since arriving to San Diego in 2019, Florer has helped guide the Toreros to the most wins and highest winning percentage of any team in the West Coast Conference. In eight seasons within the WCC, Florer has developed seven All-American pitchers as well as twelve All-Conference pitchers.” “Led by one of the nation’s premier pitching staffs, San Diego ranked in the top 25 of every major pitching category (Earned Run Average, WHIP, Hits Allowed Per Nine Innings, Strikeouts Per Nine Innings, Walks Allowed Per Nine Innings, Strikeout-To-Walk Ratio, and Shutouts). The 2024 Toreros’ 41-15 (20-4 WCC) overall record was the 15th best winning percentage of any program in the country. Three of Florer’s pitchers went on to earn National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All American Honors in 2024: Conner Thurman (First Team), Austin Smith (Third Team), and Logan Reddemann (Freshman/Second Team). To tag along with these All-American accolades, Thurman was recognized as a finalist for the 2024 NCBWA Stopper of the Year, Smith was named a finalist for the 2024 John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year, and Reddemann earned the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year award. During the 2024 MLB Draft, three of Florer’s pitchers were picked up by professional organizations. Josh Randall became the highest selected collegiate pitcher from the state of California when he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the third round (85th overall pick). With Randall’s selection, Florer has helped develop California’s highest-drafted collegiate pitcher in two of the last three MLB draft classes (2022-2024). Additionally, Drake Frize was later selected in the 17th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Ivran Romero signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Twins.”

  28. I seem to recall another 3-star recruit out of Hawaii who went on to become Oregon’s first Heisman Trophy winner! Seems like Koloi Keli is in pretty good company.
