  2. You may recall Oregon played a series with them and the Ducks won all four, 7-0, 8-3, 20-11, and 35-1 back in early March.
  3. Baseball and men's Track and Field make 8 Championships. Go Ducks! Oregon Ducks Athletics Win Incredible 8th Big Ten Title With Baseball, Track Victorie WWW.SI.COM The Oregon Ducks wrapped up their first athletic calendar year as a member of the Big Ten Conference. It was a year of transition as...
  4. I will add to these throughout the day as they become available. Baseball America National Rankings: (You can see their top-25 right here) Oregon No. 6 (Concerning NCAA Seeding? "Barring an early exit in the Big Ten Tournament, Oregon feels somewhat solid as a top eight.") Beavis No. 11 UCLA No. 15 D1Baseball NCAA Tournament Seeding Projections: (You can look at their bracket projection field right here) Oregon No. 8 Beavis No. 9 (The winner of the Corvallis Regional would play at PK Park for the Super-Regionals if Oregon wins their Regional) UCLA No. 13 Also in Tournament: USC projected to play at No. 1 Seed Texas Regional as a No. 3 Regional Seed. The B1G only has three teams projected in the 64 team tournament in Oregon, UCLA and USC? Thank goodness for West Coast teams to rescue the conference! (The actual tournament seeding and pairing does not occur until Monday May 25th on ESPN...after the conference tournaments are completed.)

  6. "You are what your record says you are." Bill Parcells Excellent effort at Vandy, but he was under .500 vs. the SEC, 11-13. James Franklin versus Top 10 opponents is 4-20 overall, and 3-17 at Penn State. His team freezes at key moments. 1st and goal from the Buckeyes 5-yard line vs. Ohio State last season, scored no points, and the Ohio State O never gave PSU the ball again. A terrific defensive effort was wasted. Two terrible late-game interceptions; one against OBD in the conference champ game and a game-changer vs. Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl. And an early unforced interception against Ohio State that led to a score and was the difference in the game. You have a Blue Chip roster, and your WRs catch no passes in the PO semifinal vs. Notre Dame. Your team puts up 49 points in the Rose Bowl, and you lose the game. He can lose when he doesn't score and when he does score. Perhaps, Jim Knowles will make the same difference on D he made in Columbus, and PSU will defeat OBD and TOSU this season. But defense, except in clutch moments, has not been the problem at Penn State. I believe that PSU will drop at least one of its games vs. the Os in 2025. 3-17 does not equate to learning from your losses.
  7. I do see and respect the point you're making though. I just hear Penn State being listed as a blue blood and they have the history to back it up. I place the expectations of a traditional power in one of the big two leagues higher than I even do with Nebraska or Texas A&M. People are saying they are the favorites or number one team based off their returning talent, coordinators and what the last two champions have looked like in comparison. Until Franklin wins a game against a team with equal or greater talent, I don't buy into them as a champion. Michigan and Ohio State won big games, at least one a year. Oregon has won at least one or two big wins under Lanning. That's really my entire point. But I do see your's and respect where you're coming from and how you got there.
  8. A wonderful game summary below... SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Oregon's back was against the wall Sunday, but the Ducks beat Stanford twice to win regionals and earn the right to host another round.
  9. I see your point with what he did at Vanderbilt and I hear the concerns from Penn State people about the financial backing. But I hear Franklin makes ten million a year and he coaches at Penn State. At worst they bring in the fifth best classes in the B1G. But that's still top fifteen, I disagree with Notre Dame being more talented. Notre Dame had one great running back in love and one good receiver in Greathouse. Penn State had a better QB, two great RBs, and a first round TE. Their defense was better up front imo. I don't see the case against Freeman other than his weak regular season. But Franklin beats everybody he's meant to and had the easiest playoff path possible. At some point the excuses have to stop and he has to win a third of his big games. I'm not asking him to even go 50/50. Just win one out of three. You are a ten million dollar coach at Penn State in the B1G.
  10. When the finals become reported...it will become apparent that the West Coast Teams have taken over the old Big-10!
  11. Pretty incredible...to beat Stanford twice and get to host a Super-Regional? Wowsa...
  12. I am very happy for coach Lombardi and the team. To get two wins today with the bats and not superior pitching was fantastic. Earlier in the year the pitching got us the big wins over the best teams. Now the hitters came through when needed. If they follow up these two wins with a World Series berth then we may look back at this weekend as the career defining moment for coach Lombardi and her program. GO DUCKS!!!
  13. Oregon crushes Liberty in Fiesta Bowl then March Madness. Might as well make this a clean sweep.
  14. Texas A&M was the #1 seed and got upset by Liberty (that name rings a bell). Oregon at the #16 gets to host the super regional. Take care of business at the Jane and this team gets to Okie City
  15. I didn't mean to imply that Franklin was a bad coach, he isn't. He is the kind of coach who can take an experienced roster and give anyone trouble, especially at home. The Ducks are going to be on their webbed toes and maybe catch a break of two to prevail in Happy Valley.
  16. As the saying goes, "Give me Liberty, and a Super Regional."
  17. I highlight this because Penn State has the kind of experienced roster that Michigan and Ohio State had in 23 and 24; maybe not quite as talented but very experienced. So I think that the Lions will be a tough out for everybody in the B1G. But...Franklin is no where near the coach as Harbaugh was and Cryin Day is. So who knows? Oregon is very talented guys but not experienced at the offensive skill positions--they are a big question mark for me this year. Honesty compels me to feel somewhat the same queasiness when assessing the Dawgs fortunes this year in the SEC. I guess we'll just have to wait to see what unfolds.
  18. So many twists and turns, and this Ducks team DOES NOT GIVE UP. Stanford went up 4-0 on a first inning grand slam by Economides after Ducks dropped a 2 out pop fly. UO’s Flannery then hits a 3 run blast in 2nd inning to make it 4-3. Economides gets makes her Stanford RBI total 7 with a 3rd inning 3 run dinger. 7-3 Furd. UO’s Cox hits 2 run HR to atone for her earlier 2 out dropped pop fly. 7-5 Furd Ducks start chipping away. Ke. Luschar gets on board from a swinging strike 3, after advancing from a few hitters, comes around to score after a passed ball then an interference play at the plate even though throw beat her . Houston is removed from game, best pitcher in the stadium at the time. 7-6 Furd after 5. Patmon triples to right to open the Ducks’ 6th. After 2 strikeouts, Kai Luschar speeds out an infield single to tie it. 7-7. Ducks get out of a 2 runner jam in 7th. Huge tip of the cap to Chambers for 4.1 innings of 2 hit no run ball. UO’s Sinicki singles with 1 out in 7th. Steals 2nd then advances to 3rd after throwing error. Stanford intentionally walks Cox. Then Patmon blasts a walk off 3 Run HR to advance the Ducks to the Super Regional 10-7. I believe UO is now 41-0 when hitting an HR. Since Liberty upset #1 seed Texas A&M, word is Ducks will host Liberty.
  19. Yes, so many moments, so many heroics, but it was Staci’s 4+ innings that kept us in it and allowed the offense to chip away.
  20. I can't think of another win that had me as happy immediately as this one, against Stanford! A grand Slam in the 1st? Then she hits a 3 run homer, and our All-B1G10 first base gets creamed by a line drive? It didn't look good, folks. But Lombardi, maybe it's just coach speak, "They never give up". They sure didn't
  21. Pretty cool, had to come back multiple times, only time they had the lead was the at the end. Great work by Chambers coming if for Grein who didn't have it again.
  22. Ducks win on walk off HR! 10-7!!!!
  23. I actually believe that will happen this year. In fact, those were my thoughts before this discussion came up.
  24. I saw that Oregon leads the B1G conference championships race for the academic year. 8 of 28 Ohio State comes in at No. 2 with ... 4 I think there are some B1G regrets out there for sure.
  25. A seeded as ranked 16-team PO field in 2024-25, with no spots guaranteed for any conference would have been: 16. Clemson at 1. Oregon 9. Boise State at 8. Indiana 13. Miami at 4. Penn State 12. ASU at 5. Notre Dame 15. South Carolina at 2. Georgia 10. SMU at 7. Tennessee 14. Ole Miss at 3. Texas 11. Alabama at 6. Ohio State 6 SEC/ 4 B1G/ 3 ACC/ 1 G6, Independent, B12 The B12 doesn't want two teams assured to be in the field? The 8 conference game, 2 Blue Chip Roster ACC would have had three participants, plus Notre Dame. If the ACC wants an assured three teams in the field, require ND to become a football member, and then three in is fine. Even though the ACC went 0-2 in 2024-25. Notre Dame and Boise State were the two PO teams in 2024 that played four or more G6 opponents. And there is no justification for the ACC to play only eight conference games. Power 2: Tell the Peanut Gallery to pipe down.
  26. Welp. Dang. No reason they shouldn’t be a top end program and honestly no reason they shouldn’t beat Oregon and tOSU.
