  2. Like many players have said.NIL money is NOT NFL money. The money is nice, but not the ultimate goal . Oregon probably wasn't the highest bidder for Bo Nix. He went from "overrated". To number 12 pick and leading his team as a rookie to the playoffs. I am sure UW was not the highest bidder for Penix. He went from not sure aoubt his durability to number 7 pick backing up a veteran. To now it's his team That's what development does. And with how Dan and company recruit I don't see a holdout for more money happening in Eugene. And by how I mean character and work ethic fit.
  3. Really good to see Dante playing. Has 6 points and looking good. Only his second game I think.
  4. Happy to see Dante playing tonight for Houston against the Lakers
  5. I do not believe Dana is too old school. My guess is we do not have enough NIL money to attract the top talent in the portal. I think the same thing is happening with our WBB program. It is simply a bidding war now. If you do not spend a ton of money you are not going to get the top transfer players. Also Oregon is probably spending the majority of their NIL money to keep the players currently on our roster
  6. I wonder if Dana is just too old school for the modern college kid? Personally, I love him and think he's a great coach, but it has seemed that he has trouble getting buy-in from some players.
  7. WBB adds multi year starter at Washington State. Former Washington State guard Astera Tuhina commits to transfer to Oregon women’s basketball WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Oregon has landed its second transfer of the offseason.
  8. Maybe he was promised more...I dont doubt that doesn't happen. Especially now that agents can check the market out as to who's getting paid what.
  9. WBB adds all Mountain West forward from Freson State. Former Fresno State forward Mia Jacobs commits to transfer to Oregon women’s basketball WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Jacobs shot 40.8% from the field, including a career-high 38% from three, and 85% from the free throw line this season while starting all 34 games
  10. Hmmmm. What is happening right now with recruiting and the portal? Are we just missing on every top recruit and every guy that has solid experience at the Power 5 level? I’m not trying to be negative, but on paper this offseason looks like a disaster so far. Hopefully this means Bittle is back for sure.
  11. I’d cut bait. I’m pretty sure they could find a dude for $1m that could get that roster into the playoff. Seriously, if our QB1 did this today I’d want us to let him go and elevate QB2.

  13. The Ducks score seven in the 4th and five in the 5th inning to get the easy road victory. Lindsey Grein improves her season record to 20-1. Emma Cox who started the season at catcher but was injured a month ago finally returned to action today. Braiesey Rosa has been fantastic while taking over the starting catcher position. It will be interesting to see who gets the majority of starts now. This was a much needed win after the surprising loss to LMU on Monday. Hopefully the Ducks dominate the rest of the weekend with a series sweep over Minnesota.
  14. Former Penn State center Miles Goodman transfers into Oregon program DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Former Penn State center Miles Goodman, once a 100 recruit, looks to start his college career as an...
  15. Unfortunately Wa St and Ore St did not understand their positions in the pac 12. They should have agreed to take quite a bit less in favor of Oregon, USC, Utah etc. Instead they demanded an equal share and now have the future of the Titanic.
  16. Wow. Demanding 4 Mil a year while sitting out on a 2.4 mil contract. If he's under contract, doesn't sitting out violate that? Who deals with these disputes? The court system? Any type of governing body dare touch this subject? Someone better come up with a true functioning system for all of this soon or the whole wonky system in place may soon break down. Are we going to start seeing game to game or half to half deal renegotiations? Without any system in place how does this not just devolve into a continuous ransom situation. Imagine a guy running back a kick off and the TV cuts away to his lawyer renegotiating his deal before he re enters the game. Yuck.
  17. Wow, If those numbers are accurate it is not good for the sport that we all love. I'm all for players getting additional compensation above their scholarship but this is getting ridiculous. A college QB holding out of spring practice because $2.4 million a year is not enough. Does he think none of his other teammates deserve any NIL money? I would think this would fracture team chemistry. Negotiate while at practice and leave for the portal if you are unhappy with the results. I hope this does not happen for OBD but unfortunately it is probably inevitable.
  18. The inmates run the asylum and have for quite a while. The owners/schools/coaches are neutered. If a player underperforms, his contract is usually guaranteed, and you are stuck. If he overperforms, his contract is worthless since you can't hold him to it and he renegotiates.
  19. Five Oregon Ducks Freshmen Who Can Make Biggest Impact In 2025 Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning was successful once again recruiting at the high school level. Five-star talents such as defensive back Na'eem Offord and wide receiver Dakorien Moore are poised to breakout in their freshman seasons, but who else could be an X-factor in the 2025 season? Five Oregon Ducks Freshmen Who Can Make Biggest Impact In 2025 WWW.SI.COM Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning has shown during his time in Eugene that he is an extremely successful recruiter, and this past cycle was no different. Lanning
  20. Yeah...I think Nico can go kick rocks, despicable behavior there.
  21. Dante Moore and Austin Novosad share mutual respect amid QB competition Oregon sophomore quarterbacks Dante Moore and Austin Novosad remain the favorites to replace Dillon Gabriel at quarterback. Both players spoke to media this week. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/dante-moore-austin-novosad-oregon-ducks-football-248613287/
  22. Oregon DL Aydin Breland standing out in young, talented defensive line room DL coach Tony Tuioti had strong praise for Oregon's redshirt freshman pass rusher, Aydin Breland. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/oregon-ducks-football-aydin-breland-standing-out-in-young-talented-defensive-line-room-tony-tuioti-248607992/
  23. All of this is the NCAA's fault. It saw what was happening 50 years ago and didn't do a thing, except hold on tighter to the "Student Athlete" model. There were ripples, Ed O'Bannon, UCLA basketball player, was the lead in a class action suit against the NCAA that touched on NIL, the player's won, the NCAA's actions violated the Sherman anti trust laws, players should be compensated for their NIL. But nothing really came of it, so here we are.
  24. This is what a Spring Game should be. Bring back Bucky and Christian, Mike and Rich. The fans will show up, expecting nothing more than a scrimmage, the players, especially the new ones will have good time.
  25. Nico is a holdout over more money. 8 Mil for 4/5 years ain't enough these days! QB Nico Iamaleava skips Vols practice amid NIL talks, sources say - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Quarterback Nico Iamaleava did not attend Tennessee's spring practice Friday amid ongoing NIL negotiations, sources told ESPN.
  26. Thank you, 30, for the post. I'm so happy that Danno and Ryan Day for that matter, are not following the coaching lemmings over the cliff when it comes to calling off Spring games because of poaching concerns. Every team with a Blue Chip Roster is being scouted by player agents 24/7. Seeing players perform in a Spring game will not be the deciding factor on which players get poached. Ohio State and Alabama with three players each vying for the starting QB spot will likely lose at least one QB to the portal, open from 4/15 through 4/25, even though coaches say competition for the starting spot will continue to the opening game. It's interesting that OBD's Spring game will be played on 4/26, one day after the portal closes, but this is not Machiavellian, the 26th falls on a Saturday. (I think? But with Danno in charge? ) Novo is pressing Dante for the starting spot. Novo and his representatives have to be hearing from the poachers. Among other teams, Florida QB DJ Lagway's shoulder is hurt and he also has a lower-body injury, he may have to have shoulder surgery. If this is the case the Gators will be poaching with a big check in hand. I sure hope Novo stays put. On the Duck (not Dark) Web, The Bellotti and Gonzo Group is -1.5 over The Brooks and Bucky Boys .
