  2. This year has been a bit insane with the number of mid-year firings. The big jobs (PSU, LSU, UF) are all interesting, I could see some surprises at those jobs since I don't know if they are jobs that are going to attract as big names as they think. Penn St for instance could be really interesting if they went off script and picked a guy like Hartline (I don't think he'll go there, but still). Florida is a complete crapshoot as to who will go there after all the misses they've had. Who knows where that job is going (Brent Key would be a guy to look at I think). LSU is such a dumpster fire with the state government getting involved and seeming to focus on getting someone who understands Louisiana culture. As for Oregon, I think it might be the right time for Stein to go, where he'll end up could be determined by who leaves a job for one of those jobs I mentioned. Seems like he's ready for it. Tupoi is also someone who I could see making the decision that it's time to throw his name in the hat. It also might depend on how Oregon does the rest of the season. If Oregon makes a run in the playoffs that might make those coaches more appealing or it could encourage them to take the next step in their careers. If our coordinators leave I have a lot confidence in Lanning to pick coaches who will be successful here.
  3. I'm not going to take Iowa to be the only person to do so and an easy win, as I do not want Charle's magnanimous prize to bump my tax bracket!!! So, Ducks 27 - 8 2 TO's (no Mari, not time outs) 1 sack 205 pyds
  4. Five keys to the game: No. 9 Oregon at No. 20 Iowa Here are five keys to ensure No. 9 Oregon exits Kinnick Stadium with a 8-1 record on Saturday.
  5. He might have to do a little career rehabilitation at OSU or in the new Pac-12 before getting another big job. It's one thing to be mediocre, it is another to be really bad. We'll see....
  6. Very true. So, odds are they will at least get a little more punchy..... at some point.
  7. That's very well possible, might be waiting for the "right" job for him. But..... I think he jumps!
  8. Orygun 56-14 4 Turnovers 3 Sacks 297 passing yards
  9. Yes, this game will show us where the Ducks truly are.
  10. I think Smith might have coached himself out of any big jobs, but we'll see. It'll be interesting.
  11. Another good strategy. Not just because of field position and weather, but also because Camden Sappingdonado is in a slump. OBD either need to punt or sacrifice a live chicken before the game to ward off the evil kicking spirits. If that doesn't work then maybe they can borrow Jobu from Pedro Cerrano.
  12. It definitely makes sense for Fisch to punch out and for JS to backfill him.
  13. Oregon 42-6 2 to 2 sacks 225 passing
  14. Great feedback everyone. I think we are all of a similar mindset here. Hopefully this is a great minds think a like situation and Dan the man has some answers with Will, Dante and the rest of the Offense.

  16. Jonathan Smith has recruiting relationships on the West Coast and he ran a pretty good offense for the fuskies before coming to OSU and completely turning that program around. It seemed like he went to MSU because he had to. Not because he wanted to. I hope he doesn't go to Seattle because OBD might not be able to steal as many of their local recruits if he comes back.
  17. Great stuff everybody! I think to sum up a general them, the Ducks just need to be the freaken Ducks! Aggressive play calling with passive execution has been a disastrous mix. Tone down the 4th and go for its and bump up the self confidence at QB seems to be a winning recipe to me. I think the Ducks should lean into whatcha gonna do about it plays with their whatcha gonna do about it players. Sadiq, Dak, Hill and Davison are problems. Make Iowa have to solve them. I love the punter/ returner chess match that could develop. I say punt even in field goal range and make Iowa live on their own goal line. Force them to get a couple first downs just to get back to the 25. I think this game comes down to Oregon's state of mind. Swagger without arrogance, caution without being timid taking the win without hoping for it is what I want to see. I think we do and the Ducks take a huge step towards maturing into a legit championship contender this week.
  18. OBD 24-17 - Weather or Not! 0 1 225
  19. Part of me want to say Iowa wins 16-10. 😣 but... Let's go DUCKS! 35-6 3 take-aways 4 sacks 226 passing yards 1 defensive touchdown in there
  20. Let's be real here...the Beevrats could not be any less punchy than they are now
  21. 💯 I too am baffled. Making the playoff and losing in the first round is better than any other non-playoff scenario imo. Anything can happen in a tournament and being able to say “we’ve made the playoff every year” would be something very few programs will be able to say to recruits. Certainly better than talking about losing the Frosted Flakes Bowl.
  22. Love your hot takes, but I would guess if MSU opens up, it’s because JS gets fired. He feels a bit damaged to me. I like your OC suggestions, I’m not particularly attached to Stein personally. What is it, year 2? Pppht. There will be absolute recruiting carnage once the coaching dominos start to fall. We could lose a few if Stein goes, but there will be a TON out there to be had.
