Will Stein's OPPOSITE OFFENSE...or a Head-Fake?
I disagree with your characterization of the teams. There are NO Power 5 programs or conferences, as it is only Power 4 conferences, and it has been that way for at least two years. In the past we referred to the other conferences as "Group-of-Five" leagues, but now with the "new" Pac-12...it is "Group-of-Six." The difference in the teams is clear, as they cannot afford what we can with their media contract for Beavis at 10 million a year versus our payout for 2025 of 54 million. As for your question...I agree that three easy teams and a bye does not fully prepare Penn State for Oregon, but four easy teams for us does not help us either. Our guys would have a much tougher intersquad scrimmage than any of these four games. I wish we had at least one major challenge before meeting the 'Lions, but it is what it is.

Oregon Football: Expectations of Dante Moore
Maybe but DM will have to prove it against better competition (e.g., Penn State, potential opponents in the B1G Conference Championship Game and playoffs/bowl game - assuming we make them). Lots of football left to play. Dream scenario - The Oregon Ducks win the 2025-26 College Football National Championship and Dante Moore goes #1 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Dan Lanning Reacts to Oregon Ducks Fans Asking for Inflatable Duck AppearanceWading above the White River rapids in Indiana, an inflatable version of the Oregon Duck mascot stunned fans at Big Ten media days last year. Dan Lanning answers if the inflatable will make a visit outside of Martin Stadium for Oregon vs Northwestern. Though Lanning didn't consider the massive balloon, the Northwestern Wildcats sure did. Northwestern head coach David Braun even addressed the potential of the giant Duck floating outside of Martin Stadium when previewing the matchup against Oregon. “I have thought about that,” Braun said. “We’re going to have to figure something out. We can’t have any ducks floating around on game day.” The venue is surrounded on three sides by Lake Michigan, and is a part of Northwestern's Lakefront Athletics and Recreation Complex making it the perfect venue to bring a giant water-based statement if you're an opposing team. “It’s been amazing seeing duck fans so quickly adopt into the Oregon flock. Oregon is always ready to make a big splash and is consistently innovative with their marketing, and we wanted to do something that would turn heads," said Jacobi Mehringer and Andrew Chhour of Oregon-based ad agency Wieden + Kennedy, the minds behind the giant Duck. The marketing agency also teased future projects with the program. We’re going to keep showing up in mighty different ways in the coming months,” the agency said shortly after the Indianapolis promotion. “So stay tuned.” Oregon Ducks On SIDan Lanning Reacts to Oregon Ducks Fans Asking for Inflat...Just a year ago, an inflatable Oregon Duck drifting on the White River in Indianapolis shocked fans visiting the Ducks' first Big Ten Media Days. Oregon’s Home Away From Home
After winning a "Natty" or two and if the Riverwalk park ever reaches its full funding and potential; I can definitely see something like this scenario coming to fruition. A "block party"/Saturday market vibe with monitors throughout the Riverwalk park live streaming the game. Would work Great for September/October games...not so sure about November...never rains at Autzen stadium but everywhere else it does! Fun stuff to contemplate until the narrative changes to favorite Natty contender, after our takedown of Penn St during their "whiteout" the end of the month. Go Quackers!

These are sharp. Whomever is picking the uniforms this year has done a terrific job so far, IMO. I’m curious to see what they pick for the Penn State game. Do they go with the all whites (aka storm trooper uniforms) for the white out?

Will Stein's OPPOSITE OFFENSE...or a Head-Fake?
I would argue it's almost all tied to Penn State prep. By Sep 27, Oregon will have played 4 games, 3 against Power 5 opponents (counting the Beavers). Penn State will have only played 3 games and none against Power 5 programs. Penn State also has a bye before Oregon, so twice as much time to prep. Thus it makes sense for Stein to give them way too much to digest, open up the playbook, provide multiple looks and cause them to prep for the "wrong" things. I honestly don't think a bye this early in the season is an advantage, after this week's game against Villanova, they don't have another game to work out the kinks with their new DC and coaches and players (and Drew Allar), I think that hurts PSU. Penn State will have only played Nevada, FIU and Villanova. What are your thoughts? Is a bye an advantage after only playing 3 lower tier teams?

Oregon’s Home Away From Home
I start this article by admitting to failure. My search for something interesting to talk about for Oregon’s upcoming game against Northwestern came up empty. The Ducks should roll over the Wildcats the same way they destroyed Montana State and Oklahoma State. Oregon’s Home Away From Home

Oregon Football: Did We Underestimate Dakorien Moore?
It would have been more than just an amazing block. On Nov 17, 2012, Dakorien would have been 5! (Sorry couldn't resist) 🙂🙂

Oregon Football: Expectations of Dante Moore
I am sure there will still be a few growing pains here and there. I am more worried that DM is going to be so good (with a so far mixed predicted NFL QB draft class) that the NFL is going to come hard at him. Before the first snap, a good season and a return for 2026 seemed a possibility. Already it seems much less likely.

Oregon Football: Expectations of Dante Moore
I was wondering how he would do. At UCLA he was a frosh and the comfort he played with in high school changed as the high D1 college game was so much faster than high school. A lot of good football players struggle as a college freshman, especially QBs. I am tickled pink with his play through the first two games. He has been poised, comfortable in the pocket and rolling out or scrambling a bit to buy time. He has a great arm, but has also been throwing with some touch when needed and he's a big, strong, fast runner who can do some damage with his feet when needed. In all likelihood the Ducks are 4-0 traveling out to out in the middle of nowhere valley and facing Penn St. Watching the Nittany Lions the first two weeks I haven't been that impressed actually. Let's just say they seem to have a lot of Mario Cristobal in them. Oregon looks bigger, faster, stronger and deeper on both sides of the ball. The one question mark for the Ducks pre-season was Dante Moore, if he continues to play at a high level and even improves from week to week, I believe he will be up to the Penn St. challenge and beyond. Go Ducks!

Dan Lanning: "Business trip.” Interesting Conversation on Better Equity with Game Scheduling
Having the 4 Pac12 teams play eachother makes obvious sense to mitigate travel distances as much as possible for everyone in the B1G. They need to figure out how to make that happen.
