  2. I couldn't tell too much based on watching on TV but the TV experience is not the in person one. But there should be rules about piping in noise. I know other fan bases have accused Autzen of pumping in noise but being there in person you can FEEL the human volume. It is certainly different and disruptive. But it comes at the cost of 50k+ crazy fans. Not the push of a button. I know the Pac-12 banned noise makers and I believe most conferences have a similar ban. Autzen still has the noise maker ban. If noise makers are banned so should pumping in sound to disrupt the opposing team.
  3. I had a friend go to Miami/Notre Dame during week 1. She said the DJ that Miami uses had the volume turned up to unbearable levels. They weren’t allowed to play music while the ball is in play, so he kept it on until Notre Dame’s center moved his hand to snap the ball. Miami had the benefit of the music stopping while they had the ball.

  5. There were no stands filled with fans behind our bench against Northwestern today, yet it was really difficult for the coaches and players to communicate on our sidelines due to super loud speakers. Then I watched part of the Texas Tech game and on 3rd down there was a really loud sounds affect blaring away while the Beavers were at the LOS with the QB trying to make calls to the team. If we want to take it to the extreme let's set up an 80s guitar band with a wall of Marshall full stacks behind the visitors bench pumping 140dB until their ears bleed and while we are at it install a state of the art direction sound system mounted on the light poles that pumps focus pink noise directly at the line of scrimmage. Or better yet, install a few of those state of the art crowd control devices to direct obscene dBs at the offense. I mean who needs yelling fans anymore? What is too much? Are there any rules?
  6. To add insult to injury, UCLA shelled out a cool $1.2 million to New Mexico for traveling to LA 🤣 On3UCLA seven-figure payment to New Mexico revealed for upse....
  7. The last time these players would have played at 9am was peewee football. And in a stadium with no stands on their side. A weird vibe for sure. I have 3 takeaways of future interest. #1 Dante Moore is him. I've been a bit "I'll believe the efficiency when I see it", but I'm seeing it consistently. The amount of times he dug us out of a hole with excellent decisions and really good throwing that is like Nix was doing in his second season. #2 We are really struggling to bring down RBs after 1st contact. I know some of that is the way the Northwestern RBs run the ball, and are likely taught to run the ball (never go down). But it seems like we are just tackling too high in the front 7 every game. Every tackle is a bear hug 1st, where they get drug for an extra couple yards due to lack of leverage. Those extra couple of yards each run are the difference between 3 and out, and an extended drive where we can't get off the field. It's tough for the DL when they are 6'5" and trying to shed a blocker to grab a 5'10 RB that is hunched over. I'm not a position coach, so I don't know how to fix it. #3. When our Tackles are trying to slide past the OL into the backfield to be disruptive it can leave some gaping holes for the RBs and frees up an OL to block the LBs. I guess we are good with the safeties coming downhill in a hurry before the RB breaks a big one, but it's scary. Again maybe that is just the cost of being disruptive.

  9. Oregon is a beautiful state. As a movie fan I would love to see a game with the Pacific in view or maybe somewhere close to where they filmed the Goonies.

  12. This game was exactly what we needed. Better competition from what seems to be a well coached team. We took a 34-0 lead while not playing our very best. Mistakes at the end give the coaches material to coach hard with. We probably anointed the offensive and defensive lines a bit early I need more and more of Moore and Moore
  13. Donte insured the win for us IMHO. Most Surprised By: The lack of push from our offensive line. With guys like Sadiq and DM bringing the blocks no matter the circumstances, you would think the 6'5" 330lb road graders could shove someone smaller and weaker off the ball simply because they want to. Not sure what to make of that showing today.
  14. "Kenny Wheaton's gonna pour! Kenny Wheaton's gonna pour!" What a well written ad!
  15. "66 players participated. I think 74 traveled" In addition to the 6 RBs with touches, I believe Whittington was on the sideline.
  16. Most recent travel estimate: 2:40 pm PT wheels up in Chicago 6:40 wheels down in Eugene The Beavers are still in a weather delay in Lubbock which will mean a later arrival back in Oregon than they planned. Next game for them isn't at home, but down the road about 43 miles.
  17. Hughes? The box score has him with 1 carry for 5 yds. If I counted correctly, 66 players participated. I think 74 traveled. 5-96 Hill 11-39 Limar 3-25 Harris 4-8 Davison 1-5 Hughes 2-1 Riggs 2-5 D. Moore 1-2 Moga
  18. No. 4 Oregon Ducks vs. Northwestern Wildcats Highlights This Team Can Make a Run': Oregon Makes Statement in Win Over Northwestern
  19. seems like the early start with pregame downpour had more effect on OBD than i thought it might.
  20. Effort overall looked sleepy and lackadaisical...especially in the trenches. It gave me vibes of the Texas Tech game a couple years ago where the OL/DL struggled to take control of the LOS consistently.
  21. Instant Reactions from Oregon Football's Big Ten opening win at Northwestern The No. 4-ranked Oregon Ducks traveled east to Chicago to take on the Northwestern Wildcats in an early morning contest. Here are our instant reactions from Saturday morning's game.
  22. Dante Moore recaps Oregon win at Northwestern
  23. What in the Bill Musgrave are you talking about?
  24. No penalties! Team plays with discipline. They’re not likely to beat themselves. Watching Penn State and they have great speed plus play very fast.
  25. Kirby can’t be happy. Heupel loves his new QB, Aguilar is thankiing the football gods and Nico is cursing them.
  26. As an aside, does anybody else absolutely love watching Georgia Tech and its QB Haynes King? I love watching this team play, probably the team I'm most rooting for outside of Oregon right now. Just love the toughness they exude.
