Throwing Oregon's Uniforms Under the Bus!
Babyjesus615 replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
One single instance of the Big 10 Championship Game unis with the green helmets should have been enough to set them at the top of the pack. Frequent uniform changes or not, those ones were -
This one is a weird one... Because frankly it doesn't matter if NCAA basketball moves to quarters. Everyone else uses quarters and they create natural breaks in the games. It is also a guaranteed commercial break for broadcasting companies which is what they want. It is the same reason why the NCAA adopted the 2 minute timeout in football. So going to quarters really wouldn't change the game. But it just feels kinda wrong.
-
“The committee realizes there are hurdles to implementing the quarter format to the game, including the structuring of media timeouts to accommodate commercial inventory. With all the media timeouts, it was hard to get a real sense of momentum and flow with the 20 minute halves, be interesting to see how 10 minute quarters are dissected to accommodate broadcasts.

Oregon's Quarterback Recruiting: Panic or Patience?
30Duck replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
First, welcome, Porter. He did recruit Moore, who flipped to UCLA and is now back at Oregon. Since Lanning has been at Oregon, despite the starting QB's coming through the portal, Oregon has not had trouble getting QB recruits. Moore was a recruit, Novosad is, one of them will be the starter in 2025. -
Oregon's Quarterback Recruiting: Panic or Patience?
Porter replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I'm pretty sure Lanning didn't bring Thompson in and I'm not sure yet how good of a judge he is in recruiting QB's. We know he can pull what he needs from the portal but that is probably not the best plan in the long run. Of course, Ty is now a receiver for his new team. I never saw him belonging as a starter behind the center after his sophomore year. I hope he does well at his new position. I'm not sure we will ever see Smith on the turf but if the coaches develop him, I could be wrong. No matter what the Ducks will likely have a strong room for years to come. -
Buried deep inside a Tuesday press release announcing major changes to “help enhance the flow of the game” in men’s college basketball was a hint at an even more significant change to the game. Last month, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Rules Committee proposed the creation of a joint working group to gather feedback for potentially moving from halves to quarters. Since then, the NCAA revealed there’s been “positive momentum” toward the move to quarters, and the NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel further recommended Division I conferences actually develop a working group to provide further feedback on the option. Men’s college basketball is the only division of the sport that utilizes halves as opposed to quarters. Women’s college basketball has utilized quarters since the 2015-16 season. Oregon's Quarterback Recruiting: Panic or Patience?

It seems that Lyons has cancelled his trip to USC. Oregon and BYU is in the mix. Hopefully will go Oregon’s way. You are right, he will be more for the 2027 cycle once he returns from his LDS mission trip. From what all is reporting USC seems to be out of the picture. Lyons cancelled his trip to USC. My concern is BYU. "While USC had the inside track to Lyons signature early in his recruitment, the Trojans have since fizzled out. Where the Oregon Ducks rank in ESPN’s Future Power Rankings for college football In the college football world, being set up for the future is almost as important to fans as being ready to win right now. With a large emphasis on recruiting and the classes that are set up to come down the pipeline, fans who may not root for a team that is projected to be in the championship mix in a given year often opine about "down the road." Oregon's Quarterback Recruiting: Panic or Patience?
David Marsh replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Lyons is the QB you're probably thinking of there and if Oregon lands him he'll really be more a part of next year's class than this year's. This isn't to say that Oregon should pursue and land him. However, unless Oregon goes after two QBs this cycle, they probably will effectively be without a new QB for the 2025 cycle. -

They're Touchy in Troy, But Not Wrong. Backhanded Urban Meyer compliment overlooks important factors at USC REIGNOFTROY.COM Every distortion has an element of truth. While speaking on 'The Herd with Colin Cowherd,' coach Urban Meyer mentioned how highly he regards USC. To an extent h Paul Dee, with a raging inferno engulfing his Miami program, had the cojones to call out SC for one football player, Reggie Bush, receiving extra benefits, and bringing a 5-Alarm Fire crew to put out a campfire in South Central. What this article doesn't reference is that the punishment of the Pac's flagship program could not have come at a worse time, at the advent of the Pac-12 Network. If Pete Carroll continued to keep things rolling at SC, how many more folks would have subscribed to the network? Larry Scott, after eliminating SC's preferred revenue distribution when he brought on CU and Utah, did next to nothing to support SC when the NCAA was hosing over it. These slights were not forgotten or forgiven. Spoiled? Yes. A blow hard? Yes. But SC was the cash cow, especially before the emergence of OBD.

Commissioners Address House v. NCAA Settlement
