  2. 6' 7" wing that can guard all 5 positions. Oregon Ducks, Dana Altman Secure Howard Bison Transfer Miles Stewart WWW.SI.COM After the Oregon Ducks released Penn State Nittany Lions freshman forward Miles Goodman from his financial aid...
  3. The G6 team in the field, that will not receive a bye in 2025-26, is guaranteed $8 million, not $4 million. That took care of 6 votes. Notre Dame! Let's all go Independent! ND finishes in the top 16 (16 !!!) and is in the field. The Domers, now eligible to be ranked in the PO top 4, couldn't wait to vote 'Aye!' Other than pride, what's in it the ACC and the B12 approvals remains to be seen, probably in June. The new format has to be signed, sealed, and delivered this December. Both of the Lesser 2 conferences are pushing for a guaranteed 3rd team in the field. I doubt the Power 2 has agreed to this. But I also thought we wouldn't see straight seeding until next season. In a 4-4-2-2-1-3 format, perhaps the Lesser 2 will have some advantage in obtaining the two at-large spots after Notre Dame grabs one of the three at-large bids? Perhaps the Power 2 has agreed sub rosa, that the ACC and the B1G teams will receive a greater share of the proceeds? Meanwhile, Power to the Power 2! The oft-referenced latest SP+ ranking released post-spring, has 12 B1G and 13 SEC teams in the top 40. 62.5% of the 40-best (Quad 1 CBB equivalent?) out of 136 teams. Yet, the Power 2 are only receiving 58% of the PO media revenue before PO participation revenue is added. The Power 2 assured of 8-teams in the field in 2026-27 is receiving populist flak that is not supported by any meaningful metric. 50% of the field is a far cry from the 62.5% ranked in SP+'s top 40. And the media viewer numbers (Eyes on the Prize) overwhelmingly favor the Power 2. Do you want folks to tune into the games or not?
  4. 6-1 ‘braska, after seven innings. I cannot believe how the bounces of the ball have gone against us today…
  5. Yes it was but it's insult to injury having a dog involved.
  6. Yes, frustrating, but the calls were correct.
  7. Today
  8. 6-1 Nebraska after five innings. Grinsell, like the rest of the Ducks, are not having a good day.
  9. Jeremiah Johnson's epic run, Masoli's heroics, and a hurdle over a beaver by LGB are 3 of my favorite CW memories over the last 60+ years of Duck history!
  10. Frustrating, to say the least.... A FUSKIE fan? On what planet could THAT be construed as interference in favor of the DUCKS???
  11. 4-1 Nebraska after four innings, as the breaks continue to flow against Our Beloved Ducks. The Cornhuskers are a team that is only a game over .500 in wins for the season, and needed an error to beat Michigan State. Oregon is not playing their best by a mile, and while we have been down three runs before, (like against Iowa) we gotta turn it around NOW.
  12. 3-1 Nebraska after three innings, as Oregon's Grayson Grinsell got 'em 1-2-3 and is looking much sharper. The Ducks have had a ton of bad luck today, and I hope we got it out of the way. Dominic Hellman gets a nice hit, but Walsh nailed a good hit, but it bounced the right way for the Cornhusker pitcher to begin a double-play against us. The breaks got to start going OUR way!
  13. 3-1 Nebraska after two innings. Jacob Walsh made a rare error that allowed a runner to score with another Cornhusker hit. Anson Aroz hit into the right field corner for a double to start things for Oregon, and the Maddox Molony hit up the middle to score him for the Ducks. Burke-Lee Mabeus was called for batter interference when he momentum after a swing carried him back into the batters box, so the catcher was unable to throw to second to stop a Molony steal. Mabeus was called out, but I do not know how he could have avoided it.
  14. This has been an frustrating game with errors, fan interference by a husky fan, batter interference all going against Oregon
  15. Grinsell need a few more cups of coffee.
  16. 2-0 Nebraska after one inning. It has been a LONG time since Grayson Grinsell gave up a hit, and a two-run homer to start a game. Oregon bats were quiet...
  17. What helped make this an epic ending was the importance of the game. The Rose Bowl was on the line for both teams. We had to beat Arizona….just to get a chance to crush the hopes of the Rodents bid to go to the Rose Bowl. Which led to another epic ending…..the War for the Roses.
  18. Oregon Ducks Softball's Rylee McCoy Named Freshman of the Year Finalist WWW.SI.COM EUGENE – Oregon Softball true freshman Rylee McCoy continues to impress. On Thursday, the California native was named the third NFCA Freshman of the Year finali Amazing stats for Tyler McCoy!
  19. Two questions. Why would the ACC and Big 12 give up their last year of having their champions get that by? What the heck does Notre Dame have on the SEC and B1G leaders? Is it NBC pulling something here? Peacock power?
  20. The tv announcer made a good point that she might have been getting away with this all season. That seems extremely likely. Her "move" is probably to get that push off after lifting her foot. Season leader in steals. The cat's out if the bag. Whoops. I was a fierce competitor in all sports back in the long ago times, and I would pull any and every trick to get away with fouls or cheats. One time I got decked behind the net in a hockey game after I dumped the puck in the corner, and I literally took the puck I saw laying in front of me and plopped it over the net into the goalie's back...and the puck went into the net for a goal. I recall a stunned defender looking at me and saying, incredulously, "you're not allowed to do that!" I got up on my skates and just said "I know, that's why I did it."
  21. I read the rule and came to the same conclusion as the replay official. Kai begins her momentum to leave the bag when she lifts her foot, leaning into her steal. The rule says she has to maintain contact with the bag until the ball leaves the pitcher’s hand. Her jump start violates the plain meaning of the language. the second time she was on the way, off the bag when the pitcher released the ball. They will have it fixed by tomorrow.
  22. "Pitcher, pitcher, pitcher, not an underwear snitcher!"
  23. The rule I found was that a runner MUST REMAIN ON THE BAG whenever the pitcher is near the mound and then can run after the pitch leaves the pitcher's hand. Stupid rule. The runner ought to be able to do jumping jacks on the base but be on the bag when the pitcher releases the ball.
  24. Apparently ridiculous loophole that Liberty exploited. It is not spelled out in the rules that a runner can re-establish contact with the base.
  25. Even though I'm closer to 50 than 40, I still refuse to not sleep in on the weekends. Thankfully I have no children. You couldn't even pay me to watch a game on TV at 10am unless the US is playing in the World Cup somewhere overseas, so 7am? Ha! I'm sorry, but the UO and Nebraska should have protested this. The final should have been moved to Monday- not many people will be working anyway. Of course, I am more than sure there were set contingencies in case of rainouts, and we simply got unlucky. That said, how many sports would you see a double header in a semi final, especially of one team had to wake up to play at 9am local time? That's insane. What a joke.
