ESPN’s College Gameday Coming to State College, PA
Gameday has jumped the shark (OK I did not really see a shark in the pool when Mcafee jumped) But They have taken their buffoonery to a whole new level.

Big Moves in AP, Coaches Polls
Coaches poll continues to show that coaches either don't care or don't pay attention to games. No way Maimi is No. 6 with their resume. And I'm no big Mari fan.

Our Beloved Ducks: Not Quite Ready for 'Natty Time?
Ive watched a lot of football this year and a lot of replay games on YouTube in the off season. Very few teams play perfect football on any side of the ball for any set of downs.

College Coaching: Dabo Has a Meltdown
I think there isn't a ghost of a chance Kirby is interested in an NFL job. He has been there before (with Saban) and reportedly was not enthused about the gig. As for Fran going to Florida--that's a nightmare for a Dawg fan, lol.

Holy Crap! Indiana was ASTOUNDING
Illinois is not a top 10 team, but Indiana truly embarrassed them. Indiana believes they belong in the CFP picture, and I won’t argue. Their QB was 21/23 passing, and they rushed for over 300 yards. They also had 7 sacks. Nobody beats a team with those stats. Home field advantage at Autzen is the real deal, and our defense will be challenged. 10/11 will be a can’t miss game.

Big Moves in AP, Coaches Polls
That is, for everyone but Oregon in the AP poll. It is OK, as things will be different a week from now! 6. OregonOregon whacked Oregon State 41-7 in their in-state rivalry clash. The Civil War went to the Ducks and now they can focus on Big Ten play. With the way QB Dante Moore has been playing, Penn State might have a lot to worry about. Moore had 305 yards and four touchdowns against the Beavers. As for the Coaches Poll? Better... 5. Oregon Oregon blasted Oregon State in the Civil War game on Saturday. All the Ducks do is win and win convincingly. This time, they won 41-7. How high will they climb in the Coaches Poll if they beat Penn State next weekend on the road? Is this the true best team in the country if that scenario plays out? Time will tell.

Holy Crap! Indiana was ASTOUNDING
Week 7? Hoosiers could be a hard Cig to stamp out in Autzen. The B1G headliner this week is OBD at Penn State. (DUH 😜) However, Indiana's first road game of the season at Iowa could be interesting. The Iowa D looked bad in the 1st half at Rutgers, but Phil Parker's D shut down the Rutgers O in the 2nd half. I was surprised by the score vs. Illinois, but not the manner in which the Hoosiers played. Cig did a great job of improving where Indiana most needed improvement, both LOS. Mendoza is a step up from Kurtis Rourke. And Indiana looks faster and quicker than last season. Google Cig, he wins! 😁

Our Beloved Ducks: Not Quite Ready for 'Natty Time?
AMEN! Winning college football games is not easy. Even teams with poor rosters have rosters that would result in high school titles playing in the toughest high school conferences. OBD, No. 1 in the PO Committee's final 2024 ranking, is definitely one of the most hunted teams. And with Uncle Phil's role in the forefront of CFB coverage, and the weekly uni fashion show, one of the most hated. Oregon State was fired up to beat the team that, in the opinion of many Beavis fans, screwed OSU. OSU scored on a coverage bust, and that's all, folks. Montana State and OK State were swept aside in Eugene. OBD TCB'd against a P4 team on the road with a 9 AM body clock time start. On the road, close to every player who traveled played. Dan is not leaving the starters in to run it up or help Dante with Heisman stats. And, this team has not been immune to injury. Criticism, especially with the players bringing in a nice chunk of change, is fine. But no team based on talent alone will brush aside every opponent. Ask the good folks in Clemson, SC. The rubber hits the road this Saturday in Beaver (!) Stadium, and then two Saturdays later, when the Hoosiers visit Autzen. Put a Fork in the Franklins!

Holy Crap! Indiana was ASTOUNDING
I read somewhere that by game’s end Illinois had lost a total of six of their ten DB’s to injury.

Holy Crap! Indiana was ASTOUNDING
P.S. You cannot see it on mobile, but on laptop and especially on desktop...you can see a wonderful picture in the background of No. 2 Gary Bryant scoring his touchdown. It is very hard to find the right photos that fit, as you'll note the football is on the same level as his face....which never happens, and is perfect. His positioning is to the right, thus the ad won't pop up in the middle of his face. (at least on my desktop) And the photo by Scott Kelley is looking upward with the celebrating crowd behind, and not at eye-level which has cement wall background, the sideline, etc. And to add to it--we have had massive issues with the new platform uploading photos, and I think we have a band-aid on it for now. Fun stuff, that makes it special.

Holy Crap! Indiana was ASTOUNDING
63-10? Wow. I don't know where Cig finds these guys, as we all knew about Mendoza, (and he was MUCH better than at Cal!) but the players on defense, in particular pass-rushing was just jaw-dropping to me. If anyone coaches offensive linemen well, it is Coach Bret Bielema, and his team got tore up yesterday with a ton of sacks....like I can hardly believe. The skill players at Indiana just zipped past Illinois, and the precision of their passing game was impressive. Between the JMU transfers, and all the transfers that came in after last football season....Cig has a very smart, old team made primarily up of seniors. This has become a very tough game in nearly three weeks, but we can worry about after next Saturday. I just thought I'd give the warning after a 63-10 destruction of No. 9 Illinois by Indiana yesterday. Wowsa.

Oregon - Penn St. Pre-Game Reports, Interviews, Etc.
Penn State fans are already cocky, say White Out too intimidating for Ducks Crowds give themselves too much credit. The truly intimidating thing about playing Penn State is that they are a great football team, as talented and experienced defensively as the Ohio State squad that rolled the Ducks 41-21 in the Rose Bowl. If Lanning and the Ducks want to smash that narrative, they'll need a better plan and a better mindset for their third crack at a Jim Knowles defense. In a matchup of No. 6 at No. 2, execution matters way more than fan trash talk. Autzen ZooPenn State fans are already cocky, say White Out too int...It's big. It's loud. It's a dramatic scene in a hallowed venue, so powerful that the broadcast crew goes silent as the music roars and the band dances.

Our Beloved Ducks: Not Quite Ready for 'Natty Time?
Both SC and UW are putting up points in bunches. UW and USC QBs are playing as well as any QBs in the conference. I believe they are in the upper tier with Mendoza and Dante. He doesn't have the WRS Sayin has at Ohio State, what QB does, but I will not be surprised if Williams is the better QB in Seattle in Week 6. UW's Jonah Coleman may be the best RB in the conference. Jedd Fisch can coach. He flipped the record at Arizona with a then-unknown QB when no one expected it. UW has played off the radar but has looked good doing so. SC's defense appears to be at least adequate, and how many B1G teams can keep up with SC on the scoreboard? If the weather is decent, I think SC will give Notre Dame all it can handle in South Bend. With the way Illinois played yesterday, SC could still be a close dog on the road at Illinois, and if Notre Dame can keep up scoring-wise when it plays at Arkansas, SC will likely be the underdog on the road at Notre Dame. Perhaps the game at Nebraska will be close, but I expect SC will win, and I also think that SC will defeat both Michigan and Iowa at home. If I am right, SC could travel to Eugene with one or two losses and will be ranked. In addition to Ohio State, UW plays Rutgers, Illinois, and Purdue at home before Week 14, when UW plays OBD in Seattle, and plays Maryland, Michigan, Wisconsin, and UCLA on the road. That's seven winnable games post-Ohio State and before OBD. If UW is not blown out by TOSU, and the game in Ann Arbor is a close loss, I think UW will be ranked. SC and UW, I grant you are as of today B1G Ifs. As to the Committee's rankings in Week 11 and Week 13, many of the currently ranked SEC teams will have three or more losses. The SEC SOS was dinged yesterday by Florida's loss to ACC Miami and Arkansas losing to G6 Memphis. Wins against Florida by LSU, Texas, and Georgia will not be sterling wins. Today, the ACC has Miami, FSU, Louisville, and Georgia Tech in the rankings race. I expect one of these four, if not two, will not finish ranked. The B12? The Fine Young B12 teams are having at it. Utah looked bad, getting blown out at home by Texas Tech. I'm happy to make The Dukes' Trading Places Wager, One Dollar! 😁

College Coaching: Dabo Has a Meltdown
“[Dabo] Swinney is the second highest-paid coach in college football at $11.1 million, according to USA TODAY Sports.” If Dabo is going to accept his extremely high compensation then he needs to deliver. As other have said, he has not adjusted to the current college football landscape and the game appears to be passing him by.

Our Beloved Ducks: Not Quite Ready for 'Natty Time?
The one drive OSU scored it looked quite bad. I will say the Ducks turned around and made a point to take the run away. Right now we are all pursuing end of season perfection. Though we are not yet at the end of the season... Or even halfway.
