Top 150 2025 College Football Players - Yeah, Right?
Nevada Dawg replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Charles. I am very sorry about the spacing on my above post. If you can fix it, fine. Otherwise delete it and I'll try to figure how it happened. -
I suppose the seeding by the College Football Playoff Committee needs to be explained every month or so for those who post negative comments in a thread and never return to it. First, the committee did not seed teams. They seeded numbers, 1-12, before the season began. No one knew which teams would finish the season in what numbers. Second, the winners of the SEC and the B1G, plus winners of two of the other three conferences were given a bye into the second round as part of the negotiations between five conferences. That was the carrot for agreeing to the 12 team playoff. So ASU and Boise State end up seeded #3 and 4 even though they were ranked well below that. For the first round the, CFPC made a standard bracket with 5 Vs. 12, 6 vs. 11 and so forth. Again, they made that bracket before the season started. I think that Ohio State, ranked #10, beat Tennessee, ranked #7, and then, as the poorest ranked team without a bye to make it into round round two, became #8 of the eight teams in round two. So, they drew #1, OBD. Complain all you like, but the CFPC was given a sack of lemons by the conferences. They ranked ASU and Boise State low, but the agreement made before the season started said their conference winners would get a top four seed. The CFPC made the lemonade. The blame lies with the conferences, not the committee. And, to date I have seen nothing that will change next year. In the end, Ohio State had the best team and was going to beat OBD whether we played them in the quarterfinals, semifinals or finals. So, what difference does it make?

Well no comment on the rest of the top-10, but I think the two Ohio State guys definitely belong there and probably Ryan Williams at #10 as well. Williams may be the most electric with the ball in his hands as anyone. The reception that won the Game for Bama against Georgia was something to behold. He alluded two pretty fair safeties, Malaki Starks, a likely first round pick in the NFL draft next week, and K.J. Bolden who is pretty far up there on this top 150 list, and made it look easy. The QBs though are often a crap shoot. and many are ranked far too high IMHO, I particularly get a kink out of how the Manning name seems to suggest to many that Manning will be the second coming of college QBs. He couldn't displace Ewers in any game that Ewers was ready to go (as I recall). He may be everything people think he could be, but let him prove it in at least a couple games that matter before anointing him the Crown Prince. -
In our new world order this is usually a good sign.

Did this actually happen? I heard not remotely close to a done deal. -
Ducks now 39-4 and get ready to host UCLA for Big Ten lead this weekend. Ducks trailed 1-3 after four innings, and 2-3 after five. Scored 3 runs in top of 7th, then Beavers left 2 on in bottom of 7th.

I think Dan has a stronger word he'd like to use. I'd like to hear it one day. I also think there was a stronger feeling toward seeing the path Penn State and Texas were given over the only undefeated team in the field. They couldn't have adjusted the seeding so Oregon could've gotten SMU, Clemson, or Indiana? People were saying Tennessee was potentially the second best at large team. So you're giving the only undefeated team and B1G champion the toughest team coming out of the first round guaranteed? Seems kind of dumb to me. We all know college football is now NFL Lite. But that doesn't mean you have to have such an amateur way of seeding the tournament. It was dumb. You all should turn in your cards right now and go work as Minions at Universal. You can't think clearly, you can't put together a competent reason for giving us Oregon vs Ohio State 2 any earlier than the Championship. Go!!! Get out now!!! You are fired!!!!! Do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars!! What, I said go now. It's over.

Oregon if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere...... sorry to see him go.

Look, I know this stuff may almost be routine in the future, but for me--the recruiting competition with four players has me dazzled, and bumping into walls. These four are ALL Rivals 5-Stars, which is the most difficult ranking service to qualify to be a 5-Star. Oregon has an excellent shot at landing two of the four, since they are at two different positions. Jared Curtis, QB, is deciding May 5th, and it is down to Georgia and Oregon. It is tough battle, that looked like distance may knock us out, but now we are back in it and even with the Bulldogs. After he decides....Oregon has a shot to get the verbal from Rivals 5-Star QB Ryder Lyons, and this is truly a good-or-good situation. The finalists for this superbly talented player is Oregon and USC. There is rumor that Curtis may come to the Spring Game? If so--that would be B1G... At Blindside offensive tackle the Ducks are after Rivals 5-Stars Jackson Cantwell and Immanuel Iheanacho, and again--we are right there on both, but the competition is hot. Cantwell is coming to the Spring Game on the 26th, and decides on the 30th which should bode well for the Ducks. But the 'Mo is with Miami right now, because it appears they made him a monster NIL offer. I was ready to count us out until I learned he is coming to Oregon's Spring Game. Iheanacho has been a Maryland lean by many sources, because that is where he resides, and Our Beloved Ducks have to overcome the distance issue...a B1G one. But we are in it! The Ducks have been finalists two years in the row for the best O-Line in the nation, and with that rep comes some swagger for recruiting that not many schools have right now. Oregon will not get all four, at best--one at each position. But you know how this can go--we can get shut out of both positions too. I just can't believe how we are closing in on 5-Star or 5-Star....at two positions! Not something we have witnessed before...routine for Georgia, Alabama, or Ohio State. But Oregon? I'm in Shock at the Recruiting...

I believe UCLA was the only D1 school to show any interest. Nico came very close to not having a school. He and the Bruins will have a lot of eyes on them. Will it translate to butts in the seats? Doubtful. Wins? Even more doubtful. Negative press. Most likely. Wish we played them this year... Well, like Mr. Fishduck pointed out, perhaps any attention is better than no attention. -

Bruins week, in baseball and softball. These are the games that define seasons, the ball didn't bounce right a couple times against osu2 and Michigan. These games are at PK and The Jane! Should be "Shout" time all game long! -
Time to weed em out. Sorry to lose a track guy however. Can’t teach speed.

Okay, you know when you lend somebody, maybe, $40 bucks, and it seems like he "forgot"? This is nearly half a MILLION!
