  2. Perhaps add a little spicy sauce to OSU vs WSU? Jonathan Smith is available.
  3. I trust coach Lanning but I will admit that I was hoping to get coordinators with current multi-year proven track records of play calling success for both of the new coordinator positions. It feels good to promote from within until you find out they were not ready for the new position. Oregon is a top 10 program with the goal of a national title. Our new coaches will be going up against more experienced play callers next year while attempting to win that elusive national championship. Hopefully, his coaching hires work out again for Coach Lanning and OBD.
  4. After 50-plus days and close to being shut out on signing day, Matt Campbell is a pretty good hire.
  5. Penn State finally hires a head coach after about 50 days. Got him from Iowa State. Iowa State took about 50 minutes to hire a replacement. First year Washington State coach leaves the Cougs.
  6. You gotta love new Big-10 rivalries forming... It fits me to a "T"! (Referring to the Penn State AD remarks)

  8. Five Things to Know About Oregon's New Offensive Coordinator Drew MehringerOregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning decided to hire internally when it came to offensive and defensive coordinator vacancies. Co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Drew Mehringer is reportedly set to step into a new role with the program. 9. Dan Lanning breaks down desired traits in offensive coordinator hire
  10. Ducks expected to promote Drew Mehringer and Chris Hampton to fill vacated coordinator roles Oregon is expected to promote from within to replace both outgoing coordinators, per reports. Drew Mehringer is expected to become the new offensive coordinator and Chris Hampton the defensive coordinator.
  11. I know there is another thread about our potential OC, but it was getting long and time for a new thread. Below is the latest...
  12. If the Mehringer and Hampton promotion predictions are accurate, then having Tosh and Will stay through the CFP maintains full season coaching continuity and a launch on both sides of the ball for 2026. Call me an optimist, but I like it! It beats the heck out of what is going on at Penn St, LSU, Ole Miss and most programs spinning in the coaching carousel.
  13. The name Neuweasel sounds like a Huskey
  14. Two names I like are Jerry Neuheisel and Sean Brophy. You could make Brophy co-OC and get some of those ideas from North Texas and mix them into the offense.
  15. Sounds like Mehringer. If DL believes in him and the players buy in, as they appear to have done, then it's time to get on board. James Crepea is reporting Chris Hampton will be the new DC. Works for me as does finding an expanded role for Wadood with the DBacks.

  17. I don't see the risk. Coach Lanning knows Drew Mehringer really well. They've recruited together; sat in meetings together, CL has seen how DM understands the game, how he relates to player, how he schemes offenses, how breaks down and attacks defenses, how hard he works, how he reacts to stress, etc. If any thing this is hire that is anything but risky.
  18. And some people just don’t have “it” or are not good at certain things. Hope he does well, if the rumors are true, but this is a huge and unnecessary risk for the program, IMO. Oregon has a golden window to win the national championship in the next couple of years and we’ll need the best coaches possible to pair with the extremely talented players. Our young coaches have been out-coached in a couple of games (e.g., Ohio State in the playoffs, Indiana this year).
  19. We will need a quarterback coach then? Need to keep Daunte happy!

  21. Georgia suing a transferred student/Athlete who received $30K for $390K. Georgia seeks $390K from DE Damon Wilson for transfer damages - ESPN This is not a good look for future recruits.
  22. Looks like Lanning is set to promote Drew Mehringer to OC. Will be good offensive scheme continuity. Mehringer has called plays before and has called games for us — one with a banged up Bo Nix.
  23. BYU, Duke, and Indy? Gutsy. Find a book that will take this parlay. 🤑
  24. Who?
  25. Especially when the team that lost does not have a clear resume advantage, which is the case with ND.
