QUAAAACCK!! Will Mencl IS A DUCK!
True indeed! But last year we (collectively) had a hard time believing Brock Thomas was the best. I think we are starting to see now that he must have been.

GameDay Thread of Oregon vs Penn State at PK Park on B1G+ at 4:05 PST
4-1 Penn State after two innings. What I feared was true....on film--everyone has figured out Collin Clarke, as they shelled him in the first inning for four runs. He recovered to have a scoreless inning in the second. Oregon had bases loaded with no outs, and only got one run when Ryan Cooney hit a ground-out to score Jack Brooks. Nothing on offense in the second inning, so we have a tough game ahead...

Brock was obviously ahead of Akili on this outing. He seems to be playing so well that I wonder if they are thinking to redshirt Raiola next year (he can play in 8 games, depending on how deep of a run the Ducks make), playing BT as the number 2 QB on most outings???? That would give Raiola 2 years to start if he needed/wanted them.

Raiola was dropping dimes. Looked like true 5 star. I didn't enough good from Smith Jr. to make me think he ever will be the guy. Defense was clearly better than the offense as shown in the final score. Offensive linebeing the worst I can remember in spring game history was the reason for the discrepancy. Very little in the way of rushing lanes or QB protection. Hopefully it's because of chemistry issue with mixing them up, and quality of defensive linemen, and not a sign of impending poor play and lack of depth. I am nervous about special teams, as that unit had the most turnover from last season. And do we really have just one field goal kicker? I think Dan goes and gets another one in the portal after the game.

Today we will see Oregon's Collin Clarke take the hill, (3.84 ERA) versus the 'Lions' starter Ben Hudson, at 8.14 ERA. A couple of items to take into account... --Forget Hudson's bad ERA, as yesterday's starter against the Ducks had an ERA at nearly 7.00 but he threw 94 and 95 mph and was great. It comes down to how he pitches today. --Collin Clarke has been beat-up the last two starts. He does not have much of a fastball, and depends upon superb control with his placement, his slider, his curve-drop pitch, and when it is humming--his changeup. Is it on today? --It is sunny and warm--the best day at PK Park for the season thus far, so perhaps with the warmer air we could see more hits fly over the fences for Our Beloved Ducks? Collin Clarke

QUAAAACCK! Top 100 Safety Semaj Stanford Commits to Oregon Ducks
It'd be great if he develops into a Jaden Canedy type of player. I just worry about shorter DBs when they have to line up opposite to the Jeramiah Smiths of the world.

Well, if that wasn't the boring Spring Game I've seen at Oregon, then it HAS to be in my top-three. The depth of the offensive line sure shows up in these Spring Games, with all the sacks. I have a couple of thoughts... --I think my question about whether Evan Stewart and Dak Moore are healthy and fully recovered was answered! --Aydin Breland sure had a game, (No. 42) and I'm glad to see his progress. --I continue to be surprised by the talent and poise of walk-on Brock Thomas. It almost felt that he was making Akili Smith Jr. try a little too hard...

GameDay Thread and POST-GAME THOUGHTS of the 2026 Oregon Spring Football Game...
Just about to head to the store and get some food donations and head to the game. My yearly ritual that starts a new season! What am I looking forward to? Which new comers pop to the eye? I still remember watching a new receiver make a routine catch, juke a million dollar shimmy and take it to the house. My introduction to the Tez Johnson era. What former back ups look like legit starters? With all the guys skipping the draft and running it back, there aren't that many holes to fill. Still I want to see who steps up to fill them. The battle of the lines. The D seems to have the upper hand with returning players but I'm always interested in seeing how the O line plays. I think this team will go as far as that group can take them. The main thing I look forward to is a great day getting back to the stadium and whooping it up with thousands of other Duck fans!

New Construction Update Shows Oregon’s Massive New Facility Rising Fast
The Oregon Ducks' new practice facility is unprecedented and starting to take shape. The construction is set to be complete in 2027.EUGENE - What the Oregon Ducks are building in Eugene is starting to look unlike anything college football has seen. The latest construction update shows an unprecedented indoor facility coming together in eye-catching fashion. The futuristic design is already striking, but it is the sheer scale that jumps off the page The project, dubbed “2.Mo.,” is designed as an all-encompassing athlete performance hub, and some of the details are wild. One of the cool factors features is a rooftop players’ lounge overlooking Autzen Stadium, a detail that sounds straight out of a recruiting pitch but is becoming reality. "It's pretty awesome," Oregon coach Dan Lanning said. "I always think a healthy university, you're going to see some buildings going up. And it's really awesome to be able to see that going on in our backyard, and the impact that's going to make for us in future seasons, and how that's going to be really a weapon for our players and our coaches, for us to continue to advance." Lanning also emphasized the benefits of the the closeness of classrooms to the indoor field, recovery rooms, a players lounge, weight room, and indoor temperature control. I do not want to see any OL player 'Over the Line!' before the ball is snapped. 😁Three good calls. Like Charles, I hope Stewart and Dak are all the way back, and I want to see what Gatlin Behr brings to the O. As Sir Notalot has posted, speed kills; let's see it on the field. I want to see more of Charles Bird Bombs. It's the Spring Game, so the O is likely to be vanilla, but I'm hoping Mehringer will let the dogs out. Raiola? How much will he play, and is he healthy? I watched a redated one-hour replay of the Michigan at Nebraska game the other day. Behind 30-20 late in the 4th Q, Raiola led a great drive to bring the Huskers within 3 points, 30-27, before Michigan recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock. He is now surrounded by better athletes than he played with at Nebraska. Will the talent and coaching help lift his game? Best of luck to Kenyon Sadiq in the NFL. It was a great gesture on the part of Dan and his tight end coach, Mehringer, to be with Kenyon and his family in Idaho to watch him go in the first round. Has Jamari Johnson continued to improve? He was a terrific under-the-radar portal pick-up in 2025. What do Kendre Harrison and Andrew Olesh bring to the TE table? I hope to see athletic play out of the players vying to start on the O-line. It would be sweet to see if we have an OT close to Josh Conerly in athletic ability. There are many quality edge rushers in the B1G. Can they handle the quickness and also run block? The DL starters? Perhaps the best starting group in CFB. What do the backups look like? Of the greatest importance: no injuries, please. This is IT before September 5th, I'm fired up. Bust the Broncos!

--I want to see how much the young offensive linemen have progressed, and if they are overwhelmed by the defensive linemen as in prior Spring Games? --I am curious about the vitality of the veteran receivers; if Evan Stewart and Dak Moore back to their prior health and skills? What are YOU looking for today?
