James Franklin -" We're Going To Win a Natty Somewhere"
that seems ok to me.

They might be able to buyout the daughter's tuition at Penn State. Possibly the Jim Knowles contract and a Happy Meal.

Ruh-Roh! The Leading Beavis HC Candidate is....Jonathan Smith of Michigan State?
I don't think Oregon State has the resources to give Smith near the amount he is making at Michigan State. That means MSU would still be on the line for the full buyout I think. I know there are some big time boosters up there, but I can't see them wanting to be on the tab for two large payouts concurrently(Meltdown Tucker) along with whatever it would take to pry away a big time hire.

I hear Beavis is looking for a coach--just sayin.

James Franklin -" We're Going To Win a Natty Somewhere"
I don't know if anybody caught the James Franklin interview on Game day today. If not , I'll just give a few bullet points. ° He was shocked to be fired on the Sunday following the Northwestern loss. His second straight loss as a twenty plus point favorite, and third straight B1G to open the season. ° He has no plan to retire. He has no hobbies and plans on coaching somewhere else next year. This actually should be a positive for Penn State fans, as it takes them off the hook for the record breaking 49-55 million dollar buyout owed to him. ° He still loves Penn State, but his daughter will not be attending the school next year. Take from that as you will. ° He said "We will win a National Title somewhere" , and "I had a great twelve years". He won 106 games there, and had six seasons of ten plus years. He won one B1G Title, but won only four games combined vs Ohio State and Michigan. Penn State was the third wheel in the B1G before Oregon joined the league. They are now arguably the fifth or sixth, depending on where you put Indiana and USC moving forward. Both Nick Saban and Kirk Herbstreit expressed their distaste for the firing of a man who was only one game from playing for a National Title last year. Of course they failed to mention all the resources and expectations that went into this "All Out" year. Penn State just paid over three million dollars on Jim Knowles, and probably much more in roster retention and transfer portal players to win it all this year. The team is out of the discussion two weeks before Halloween and lost to two of the worst B1G teams in back to back weeks. Mostly a very predictable interview, but the timeline of his firing has been told two different ways. I don't have validation on this, but I heard from certain Penn State fans that the firing was pushed by boosters and went down differently than how Franklin described it. Who knows. I find the fact that he said he was treated very well there, but his daughter would not be attending next year as interesting. Maybe it's nothing, but most kids go to certain Universities because of their degree choice. So if Franklin were to be hired by perhaps a Big 12, ACC, or SEC school, would his decision come down to picking a place with the same level of academic standards as Penn State?

Stepping stone? i think not. Until Beavis begins some semblance of winning on a consistent basis, that job will be more like a milestone, around a a coaches neck... or maybe a curb stone to get stomped on.

Some choice quotes from Beavis believers themselves. That’s like taking back your ex after they cheated on you, moved in with the person they were cheating on you with then you taking them back after things didn’t work out with the other one. My Beaver gear would be at goodwill. “Id rather wake up With my head sewn to the carpet…..”

Cignetti Signs New 8 Year Contract at 11.6 Million per Year...With Indiana
I’m not as sold as you are on Indiana. Time will tell, but Oregon was either out coached/played in the game or is overrated, IMO. Indiana does not have the resources or draw that some of the top football programs do. Cig could do much more at Penn State, Florida, et al (i.e., the ceiling is higher but so is the pressure to win). Even Oregon has had trouble recruiting elite high school offensive lineman under Coach Lanning and that is a requirement to win a national championship. As I mentioned, I hope he stays at Indiana but understand why he would leave, if his goal is to win a championship. He is up there in age, so time is not on his side.

Nah. I drove by some construction workers the other day on the side of the road, who were wearing them…

That’s like Joey Harrington at Oregon (without the picks). People remember him as “captain comeback” but forgot how mediocre he usually played until the second half/4th quarter (even he has admitted as such). There were obviously some exemptions like the Fiesta Bowl against Colorado.

This Was Posted Somewhere from Jedd Fisch's Wife
I too am living rent free in Jed Fisch’s head. It seems that he is obsessed with copying my furniture. I’ve had this couch for five years and his looks new.

I’m hearing Harsin, Ed O, and Vigen from Montana State. It doesn’t really matter who they get. Beavis is G6 now which means they’re a stepping stone to a P4 job.
