  2. I bet we're 6. But...lots left with this week and Conf CGs. Just win.
  3. Heading into Week 14, Massey Computer Rankings Have Ohio State, Indiana, and Oregon, 1, 2, and 3! https://masseyratings.com/cf/fbs/ratings
  4. Last and definitely least - In the Pacific time zone, Huskies don't barf 🤮, They bite. UW 48 - Even with a Skipper, UCLA is rudderless and ridiculous - 14 Neuter the Huskies!
  5. I do think Lane could recruit slightly higher caliber players at LSU or Florida than at Ole Miss and, therefore, the odds of winning a national championship should also be higher at those programs but the expectations are exponentially higher. It’ll be interesting to see what Lane decides to do.
  6. I read somewhere that Oregon would face Indiana in the B1G Conference Championship Game, under that scenario. Although it would be great to win back-to-back conference championships, many believe it would be better to rest and heal conference championship weekend before hosting a playoff home game (preferably on the other side of the bracket as Ohio State). All four teams with the extended layoff last year lost in the first round.
  7. IMHO, the Natty runs thru tOSU and IU. Would truly prefer IU than tOSU in a quarter or semifinal game. However, no Natty without beating those 2 teams. The committee will be in a tough spot on Tuesday because there foot is in their mouth. They have expounded how Oregon's schedule was not impressive. They said, get some wins against better opponents and change our perception. While the overrated SEC teams played the little sisters of the poor conference the Duck played a top 15 opponent and won. Man up you poor excuse for CF experts...... The Ducks earned the right to at least jump ole miss. Go Ducks.......
  8. OBD is also No. 5 in the AP Poll. OBD lost to No. 2 Indiana. Texas Tech lost to ASU. OBD has a better SOS than Texas Tech. Why does the PO committee have TT ranked ahead of OBD? No metric other than perhaps 'Money Spent on Roster' sees the Red Raiders above OBD. 11. OBD's, since the loss to IU have done a very good job of matching or exceeding our opponents physicality. I felt that the Trojans didnt have much fight left in them after they scored their last touchdown. OBD's pounded the rock and moved downfield to score again to extend the lead back to 14. It must have been discouraging to the defense and the entire nation of Troy that the Ducks had their 3rd, 4th and 5th players just plug and play. Next man up destroyed USC. Hats off to all these players for stepping up to win this game. And to DL and staff for coaching them up to meet the challenge! The ancient grey beards on this Forum know first hand how an injury to just 1 starter could derail a game or season. Well done OBD's. let's get after the dreaded pack up north. GO Ducks! And welcome DuckDuckTruth.
  12. JabbaNoBargain, Just out of curiosity, if the Ducks win in Seattle (the Huskies are primed for our game), and if Michigan were to defeat TOSU (as that team to the North did to that team from the South last year), would TOSU or OBD move in to face Indiana in the B1G championship game? I would like to beat Indiana but winning and/or losing both have pluses and minuses. I enjoyed beating PSU last year in the championship game but would prefer to have nothing to do with that game. A team earns a better record if they win, but coaches are closing out recruiting, the players are prepping for the first playoff game and taking finals. If and when a team gets past the conference championship, just win to keep playing. VR, KCDuck1
  13. We are in a great position with our depth. Having the receivers and offensive line back at 100% I hope is more than a Christmas wish. I would love to be #5 in the CFP. By the way Happy Holidays to all of you.
  14. It turns out some of the PIs were actually interference with fair catches!
  15. No question our DUCKS were more physical and I think it is due to our great depth. Look at the O Line we fielded in the second half. They did not miss a beat. And speaking about depth, how about our receivers for the last three games? They were replacing starters and they have been fabulous. I certainly hope our hurt receivers reenter the fold before the season is over but it might be tough to get the current starters off the field.
  16. Definitely. I was underwhelmed by their QB. At times, their offense consisted of throwing up 50/50 lob shots to 3 NFL receivers.
  17. Should Maryland be bringing back Mr. September, Mike Locksley? Should Wisconsin have assured continuing support for Luke Fickell earlier in the season? Will Penn State defeat Rutgers and become bowl eligible? (If so, will any Nits players show for the bowl game?) Are four losses as low as the Fighting (?) Illini go? Or, can Coach Bielema manage to lose at home to Northwestern this Saturday? Coach Fleck, you need to find a kicker to help row the boat, or at least help with the bailing. Northwestern clinches bowl eligibility with a win over the Gophers that balances OBD's B1G SOS. Ohio State is not the only team looking to finish with a victory over That Team Up North. Ohio State -11.5 - OBD -7.5. A personal apology to Malik Benson, whom I questioned after he dropped a perfectly thrown pass in the Spring Game. 🤪 Saturday BlitzPower Ranking the Big Ten: Oregon Ducks sent a statement...Week 13 of the College Football season is in the books, and while it wasn't the most exciting weekend of the season, there were several games that had a massive
  18. Not that I want or expect it to happen, but probably gives us some more hope of making the playoff if something flukey happens next week. Lot of football left to play, we could still back into the conference title game as well. TOSU has had a pretty soft schedule since the opener, and Michigan will have a chip on their shoulder, wouldn’t be shocked if they punched the Bucks in the mouth and won again to crash the playoff.
  19. I guess Oregon passed the "eyeball" test, as the Ducks moved up to No. 5 in the Coaches Poll. I do NOT want to be a No. 4 or No. 5 Seed and face Ohio State before the final, and not liking a move up is not something I would have thought I'd be hoping for! 20. This was a fantastic "education" game for our frosh defensive backs. (Finney, Iffy, Lopa, and Flowers) Lanning indicated that technique can be improved upon, and between the film room and this experience--we will be much better off in the future for this experience. Imagine if the Trojans had their top-three receivers out...
  21. I lived on the border of SEC land (NC) for 5 years and can relate to the bubble and general nuttiness. It’s pretty insane imo, that someone like Lane thinks he needs to jump to LSU or Florida in 2025. He has more money than he can personally count…and they’ll give him more. He’s built it up so he probably is getting about as good of a year to year roster as he can expect to get anywhere else. The only reason to leave really imo would be to go back to your alma mater, or if he and his family actually didn’t like living there. You can do all these things anywhere and still need some luck for it to all come together in a particular year.
  22. Or maybe they recognized that the refs were letting their offensive PI's go uncalled and instead called defensive PI's? Hahahhahahahha no they would never admit that the refs called something in their favor and it be the wrong call. Speaking of Oregon's defensive backs though they did a pretty good job. They kept USC receivers in front of them and there were few yards after catch. I don't know how Oregon's defensive backs could have covered some of those receivers much better or those PI calls any better as USC receivers were pushing off against them. Loads of slop to go around but the better team still won.
  23. Time for my favorite pics when talking about ancient football things! The fact the two pics are 50 years apart (and that might not occur to somebody) only underscores how irrelevant these ancient things are.
  24. Well, if we face Ohio State in the Playoffs....they have a pretty decent QB/Rec group, but your point is well taken. The Trojan receivers are superb, and this was a great experience for our secondary to learn from, and yet still win the game. You are a new forum member, DuckDuckTruth, (I love the handle name!) and it is great to see you posting often after you became a member. Do continue, as we love to see all new opinions, and I appreciate those who start new topic threads.
  25. After Oregon settled down, the team really started to out physical USC. Causing problems in the run game and their passing game! With the strength of Oregon schedule they should make a title run in the playoffs. They should not see a QB/WR combination this good the rest of the playoffs maybe outside of BAMA/INDIANA. Go Ducks!
