  2. A seeded as ranked 16-team PO field in 2024-25, with no spots guaranteed for any conference would have been: 16. Clemson at 1. Oregon 9. Boise State at 8. Indiana 13. Miami at 4. Penn State 12. ASU at 5. Notre Dame 15. South Carolina at 2. Georgia 10. SMU at 7. Tennessee 14. Ole Miss at 3. Texas 11. Alabama at 6. Ohio State 6 SEC/ 4 B1G/ 3 ACC/ 1 G6, Independent, B12 The B12 doesn't want two teams assured to be in the field? The 8 conference game, 2 Blue Chip Roster ACC would have had three participants, plus Notre Dame. If the ACC wants an assured three teams in the field, require ND to become a football member, and then three in is fine. Even though the ACC went 0-2 in 2024-25. Notre Dame and Boise State were the two PO teams in 2024 that played four or more G6 opponents. And there is no justification for the ACC to play only eight conference games. Power 2: Tell the Peanut Gallery to pipe down.

  4. Welp. Dang. No reason they shouldn’t be a top end program and honestly no reason they shouldn’t beat Oregon and tOSU.
  5. The Luchar sisters back to back in the lineup worked, and they field too. McCoy stopped being a freshman a long time ago. But will the Ducks have an answer to Houston?
  6. Yeah I wouldn't mind some games up in Portland, I live in Eugene, but it would be a good way to stay connected to the Portland fanbase. Hillsboro is a bit out there, but it would still probably do well in attendance.
  7. You know, a case could be made, so I will. Day to me wins because, when, he has superior talent. Franklin apparently wins with far less talent. Coaching" Franklin> Day
  8. Yep, rubber match coming right up. Glad that Oregon got the big win today and not Stanfurd. Go Ducks!
  9. Oregon run rules Stanford 15-5! On to night game, winner takes all to advance.
  10. They added, on paper, three good receivers from the portal. Spot on comment. Versus Notre Dame, no PSU WR caught a pass.
  11. This has been as plain to see as the nose on my face (I have a big nose!). I am shocked that the issue of non-revenue sports attrition hasn't emerged earlier as a Title IX issue if nothing else.
  12. Mario beat essentially the same team Lanning defeated... When that unit was comprised of freshmen. Including a frosg QB that blossomed enough OBD world have lost horribly later in the year ( that was the second game of they year). In essence, the entire front seven in 22' was the same unit as last year. Lanning also exploited the edge in his Eugene game like Mario did ( Ohio State fixed up and promptly shut that down in the Rose Bowl). Mario basically caught a young team at the right time. Freeman has played Ohio State better because they have better talent. They are much more clutch on defense because they have better talent. They even forced Allar into the game winning INT. Penn State hasn't done that to teams because they don't have that kind of talent. That Franklin keeps games close against superior teams speaks volumes. They don't have the talent to stay that close. They just don't. I'm sure nobody in the nation expected Penn State to be in a position to beat OBD last year. No one. That's a testament to Franklin. They had no business getting a drive to win the game, yet they were there. Just like far superior Ohio State in Eugene. When I discuss this with PSU fans, they bring up the chokes. Bi say you can't choke if you can't take control of a game. Penn State can't control games against superior talent. They haven't, and just like Indiana last year, it eventually shows up. Franklin made Vandy look legit. Most coaches can't come close to matching that kind of performance . As Auburn and Florida ( not to pick on you), and Tennessee have learned. Talent matters. A whole lot. We're just going to disagree here. Respectfully. I simply believe James Franklin is the kind of coach to keep a contender like those teams I mentioned from falling behind like they have. He's that good.

  14. Freshman goes yard with 3 run HR. Ducks up 6-2 in 2nd, chase Furd’s starter from game.
  15. "The Jane" more than holds its own in Oregon facilities and venues.
  16. My wife and I were sitting in ‘The Bob’ when Lombardi and Oklahoma came to town in 2018. That 5-0 Duck victory left a lasting impression on her of the program and facilities. But, what probably tipped the scale (as she has mentioned many times) was the fan support. Even by Oklahoma standards, it moved the needle.
  17. Oregon Ducks Favorites To Land Offensive Line Recruit Lex Mailangi Over USC, Alabama The Oregon Ducks are looking to get a head start on their recruiting class of 2027. Three-star offensive line recruit Lex Mailangi has visited the Ducks several times this spring, and Oregon coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks are the frontrunners to land Mailangi over the USC Trojans and Alabama Crimson Tide Oregon Ducks Favorites To Land Offensive Line Recruit Lex Mailangi Over USC, Alabama WWW.SI.COM The Oregon Ducks are starting to recruit the top prospects from the class of 2027. While it is still early, Oregon coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks are recruitin
  18. What is it with formats and OBD when they get the No.1 Seed????
  19. GREAT research, and thank you! I am expecting to see most of the pitchers you mentioned as brief appearances, and yes...I think something is up with Sanford. But I could also see other freshman pitchers, such as Michael Meckna, and Gabe Howard make brief appearances for an inning at a time? Oregon does not have enough proven, quality pitchers for four games in four days...but UCLA has a HUGE break...where they play on Tuesday and Wednesday...thus their Tuesday pitchers (Starting and Relief) could be called on for--the Sunday Championship! We just got hosed...
  20. No doubt. I can't, though I'm trying, to say enough about Coach Lombardi. She was fine at Oklahoma, would have eventually been the head coach. Instead, she leaves that to come to an Oregon program that was just rocked, and it was anything but a smooth transition. Now, the team took a hit, literally, against Stanford. Maybe they pull it off, win 2 and move on. But if they don't, Lombardi and the Ducks will be back next season.
  21. But. What if the Michigan St. Coach does a Lanning...and goes for it, believing that they can get by Nebraska with their No.2, but need No.1 to beat Oregon?
  22. I checked out the schedule and bracket and our Ducks are the last team to play. This gives our guys a couple of days rest while everyone else is battling it out. But this scenario also could be an issue as Oregon would play four games in four days. Will the pitching hold up? I did a deep dive into Oregon's pitching depth. These results are based on the last 15 games, when Oregon won 14 out of 15. I have to admit I didn't know the Ducks have 19 pitchers on their roster! Besides our starting pitchers, Coach Waz relies on only six relievers. Grayson Grinsell, Collin Clarke and Jason Reitz each had four starts. Relievers and appearances Cole Stokes 10 Seth Mattox 8 Santiago Garcia 6 Ian Umlandt 6 Ryan Featherstone 5 Jaxon Jordan 4 Pitchers who have made a brief appearance in the last 15 games. Toby Twist 3 St. Mary's - Washington - Iowa Sam Boyle 2 Tanner Bradley 1 Julien Hernandez 1 Will Sanford 1 Last pitched against Oregon St. on April 29th. Started and pitched two innings. Is he recovering from an injury?) This is going to be a challenge for all teams, not just Oregon. I'm sure we're going to see some pitchers who normally don't play. Keep the bats boomin', Ducks!
  23. It's better to be projected in the Super's rather than not, but by all means OBD, go ahead and win the thing! As for facing Beavis, my thought has always been to deal with difficult as early as possible. Now, after beating the Beavs 4 straight, the law of averages goes against the Ducks...So
  24. Tournament time is all about pitching. Lombardi is (understandably) tight-lipped regarding any issues effecting her staff. We are left to speculate and wonder. She has two remarkable pitchers in Grein and Sokolsky. That said, there still remains a significant difference between recruiting the top national prospects, and attracting talented projects from less competitive programs looking to use their last year or two to their advantage. Irregardless of their accelerated rate of development, that difference often does show up at tourney time when facing the toughest competition. Image wise, Oregon’s softball commitment and stability probably took a big hit among high school coaches and players when it refused to pony-up in order to keep one of the most successful head coaches in the game from moving on. By earning the program’s first regional hosting since then, Lombardi has begun to close that perception gap; and, along with her stellar credentials, will hopefully now start getting commitments from the kind of talent that she will need down the road.
