Updates of Oregon vs. USC: Win or Go Home
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
3-1, USC after six innings. Featherston in for relief. -
Nebraska and Tennessee flooded our student section the last time they visited. Both school filled a quarter to a third of Autzen’s capacity. Luckily, both games were out of hand by halftime. However, Slick Willie decided to let Nebraska back in the game. Anyway, here’s to hoping our students decrease the number of Nuts fans at Autzen.

We might get a 1 or 2 night games but I highly doubt we will get more Friday games, I don't think the B1G will want that at all. I'm fine with this, I'm sure we're in store for one more night game at home, but to me this is just the trade off for getting into the B1G. Give it a couple years and some success and it will begin to get better. -

SP+ has Oregon ranked No. 3, 2nd in the B1G behind No. 2 Ohio State. Purdue is ranked 72nd, and 15th in the B1G. As Charles notes above, Michigan State on Friday before the Ohio State game and Purdue on a short week is a good trade-off. Friday night games on Fox, CBS, and NBC are likely to draw B1G viewing audiences. The B1G Friday night games will likely open the coverage on Fox's Big Noon preview show and also be covered by ESPN's College Gameday. -

How far back are they planning to go in paying former players? I almost played in 1976.... -
Lots of details are still to be worked out regarding Title IX, the effect on G5 athletic departments that gross $40M or less every season, roster reductions for football, the hit to nonrevenue sports, will athletes receiving payments be 'employees,' if the athletes are employees will a union be formed to resolve such matters as unrestricted transfers and what will college sports 'management consist of, and whether Congress will provide relief from future antitrust and other litigation. Hats off to the Power 2 conferences and NCAA president Charlie Baker, for leading the way toward the settlement of House and two other attendant antitrust suits that could have bankrupted the NCAA.

From what I’ve seen, Akili Smith Jr. is underrated and should be a 5-star recruit. He has all of the physical tools that you would look for in a QB. He’s only going to get better. Hopefully our coaching staff continues to recruit him hard, like they do with other recruits, because I’m sure other schools will continue to do so.
