  1. The Gaylord in Grapevine Texas, home of the $250 Kobe wagyu strip steak, $10-$30 potato, $14 mushroom and$15 veggie! At the super price of $629 per night plus tax. I can think of more affordable spots to fly in to once a week as well!
  2. HeywardDuck, I like the way you think! Brown would certainly do good for all of us if he could pull that off!
  3. https://goducks.com/news/2021/11/3/football-brown-named-top-10-finalist-for-golden-arm-award.aspx A top 10 arm?
  4. I too despise night games, especially when they are on ESPN! And after WAZZOO has a bye…
  5. Like most I would prefer BOTH! A high scoring offense is more fun to watch. One that is close to 50% run and 50% pass, that keeps you guessing, but preferably at least 75% efficiency on 3rd down. However, a dominating defense is more satisfying to watch, particularly when they continually pressure the opposing QB, get multiple sacks and picks, and at least one score per game! With that as the criteria, I would rather see a suffocating Defense, with a D line that instills fear in opposing offenses and coaches, and a secondary that gets more picks and breakups per game than they allow receptions.
  6. There as a lot of second guessing the coaching decisions in a game that we won. It would be one thing if ANY of us could do it better, but we can’t (If we could, we’d be pulling in six figures to do it). My least favorite thing about football has always been the Monday morning quarterbacks, and it seems a lot of them come here to pontificate how they’d have done things differently. Since we are pontificating, let’s look at the play. If AB he’d thrown it to the corner where the receiver was heading, it was a score. But no, he throws it behind the receiver and into the arms of the defender. If he had cut behind the blocker and run, it was second or third and short, if not a first down. It was a good call, with poor choices and execution by a fair to middling player on a team full of playmakers.
  7. Oregon 48-0 3 T O 5 sacks 320 yards passing. Ty gets to play in the 2nd half and lights it up in the air! Go Ducks!
  8. I think I am probably as big a Duck homer as anyone, and I love to cheer and yell for good play as much as anyone. I will also boo the refs at the drop of a hat. If I am treated to 4 Ps (plunge, plunge, pass, punt) 3 times in a row, you bet your @$$ I’m gonna boo. Coming to these games is not a cheap investment, even when you get the cheap seats. I pay for the right to cheer when I am pleased, and to boo when I am displeased. I firmly believe the ONLY way a fan has to show displeasure is the boo. I support Mario in most things, and think he is doing great things for our Ducks, but if you don’t like the boo’s, then coach the team to play up to the levels we know you can.
  9. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/LongFormArticle/Lee-Corso-Oregon-Football-ESPN-College-Gameday-Auburn-173566139/ 15W, 11L on Gameday! 3-0 vs UCLA.
  10. 11-2, 34 ppg scored 22 ppg allowed A heathy Defense takes over from here on out. We win the turnover margin by an average of +2 per game, and defensive scores in at least 4 of the remaining games. Go Ducks!
  11. I don’t know about the rest of you, but if my boss told people I was doing a “solid” job, I’d be looking to get better or get replaced! Solid is not exactly a ringing endorsement…
  12. In truth, I don’t think many of us thought the 2021 Ducks were going to be a great team in the pre-season. (I know, I was the homer who said “15-0 baby,” knowing it was a pipe dream, but wanting to believe). After the tOSU game, a lot of us thought they could be very good, but I seem to remember most of us thinking great was still a year or two out. My hope now is that the team that played down to their opponents level in the first half of the season will start to play UP to their opponents level the rest of the way. Do that and I think we will remain good to very good, with greatness a year or two away.
  13. I don’t think it would be a bad thing Charles, on a forum like this. We would just have to acknowledge up front, just like the score contest, it’s gonna be a bunch of wild-@$$ guesses!
  14. My frustration is that this team will not play 4 quarters of football. We had 3 or 4 awesome drives in the first half where they drove the length of the field only to shoot themselves squarely in the foot with penalties and fumbles. Each of those drives would have been a score for a team that wanted it. Watching the game last night, it felt almost like they did everything they could not to Win. On the positive side, KT is an absolute beast! Noah Sewell is far and away the toughest player the Ducks have had in a long time. At least twice he got up after a tackle just radiating pain, but he stayed in and kept making plays. No wonder he is a team captain. Unfortunately, unless they turn things around, I see more losses than wins for this team in the second half of the season.
  15. As I prepare to make my way to Autzen, I have high hopes that this will be the game that gets the Ducks to fly like we know they can. Ducks play to their potential and deliver a good old fashioned smack down. OR 48-10, 2, 3, and 280! Please! Go Ducks!
  16. I have to come down in the “I’ll believe it when I see it” category. If it comes true, I’ll be as happy as a pig in poo, but based on what we see and hear, it just sounds to good to be true.
  17. Jrw, lovin the sunshine buddy! I agree totally. for me, a big part of the angst comes from reading posts like “if they don’t win by ## many points, I’m gonna quit watching” or “the coaches and the players need replaced” Come on, are we Duck fans or fans of blowouts? I love a good stompin as much as the next guy, but what I really love is watching the Ducks, win, lose, or draw,
  18. I think playing TD as an every down back will lead to Dye joining Verdell on the injured list. It seems MC insists on playing combinations with multiple people on the O and D lines in order to “build depth and resiliency” while refusing to give decent reps to additional QBs and RBs which would also seem to build depth and resiliency.
