  1. WK, that’s the beauty of perspective, everybody’s got one. From my perspective, those who wear hooker gold and prostitute purple tend to be the most arrogant and clueless fans to ever enter a stadium! Even my UW alum co-workers agree that Husky fans are an entitled bunch of arrogant @$$#*\€$. I think there is way more hatred oozing south than north. As far as little brother, no. I think of them more as dastardly dawgs. Dawgs that should be kept out of the house.
  2. Thanks Charles, for saying what so many of us would like to tell Coach Dan! We love our Ducks and want to see a prolific offense that mixes runs and passes to the extent the defense is on their heels, and gives up EXPLOSION PLAYS! Football coaches should be using the facilities at Hayward (and all the student athlete support available) to entice the really fast players to come to Oregon.
  3. It is sure fun to watch the local boy from Eugene light up the NFL!
  4. Hooker gold and prostitute purple, hard not to get sick when you see it.
  5. Too bad! Oregon played its best quarter of the game in Q3! If it wasn’t for the disaster of Q2, we may have come away with a W! Overall, I was impressed with our YOUNG DUCKS. They showed heart, and did not quit. I think Lanning will have a pretty good team next year. Let us see if he can coach them up to reach their potential… I must say that I don’t think I will miss MC’s staff very much.
  6. Absolutely the worst 10 win team I think I have ever seen.
  7. Annie, it’s white out this morning!
  8. Went from snow in rain to snow and sticking in about a half-hour! Am I dreaming of a white Christmas?
  9. Snow in the rain in Grants Pass.
  10. Are the rats fleeing the sinking ship? Or is there just not enough prowess to go around?
  11. Thanks for sharing DD! This is indeed good news! He can only get better with new teachers!
  12. As another long time FishDuck fan who had to be reminded not to throw shade, I have come to think of OBDF as a virtual ‘dinner table’ where we can share our Duck thoughts, hopes, dreams, and even nightmares! My Dad’s firm rule was that you do not discuss religion or politics at the dinner table. It always leads to a fight because people tend to think their way is THE ONLY WAY! I too read my posts before posting, and have simply deleted several posts because they could be interpreted differently than intended. My hat is off to you, Mr. FishDuck, for creating this safe haven for THE MOST KNOWLEDGABLE DUCK FANS on the planet to congregate with friends. It is my wish that each of you and yours, have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Go Ducks!
  13. Agreed LH, let’s give DL a chance to coach. I like your leash comments. Let him make mistakes and learn from them. When he repeats them, it becomes a different story!
  14. Unfortunately, it has become “part of the game” for those schools interested in the super league JJ (rightly) predicts here on OBDF. It almost killed me when so many years of OBD coaching experience was (were?) shown the door along with Helfrich. The game, unfortunately, is no longer a game, and as such, is no longer quite as much fun.
  15. I was thinking about the swings where it seems you can’t do anything wrong for a spurt. Where runs break free, catches are made and points stack up. Like when we were looking down the barrel of a 14-0 score from the Utes, and he dropped the ball on the one. Up to that point, the Utes had momentum. Everything they tried worked. That play shifted the momentum and thus the outcome. While it is as real as momentum, abject fear tends to affect me differently.
  16. I know THAT Momentum too! Got to bring a half loaded rigging truck off Bald Mt. w/no brakes back in 76! Thats a whole bunch of momentum I wasn’t even think about! Thanks for the flashback!
  17. I just read this article on and it made me wonder how some of the savviest fans I know of would weigh in in ‘momentum.’ For me, momentum is real, and you can feel it, both when you got it, and when they got it. It happens in games, battles, war, and even business. I’ve seen it in grade school, pee wee soccer, high school, college, the Olympic, and even in the professional leagues. We Duck fans have seen both sides of the momentum coin. While the article brings back a very painful 2016 bowl game, it does make some good points. I am curious as to your thoughts, oh fellow OBD fans?
  18. Wow Constitutionalist, you absolutely nailed it with that statement! A tip of my hat sir, for so eloquently stating why we humans are such an argumentative bunch!
  19. I just have a hard time understanding why he would want to join the dumpster fire that is Miami. They are stealing from the faculty to pay for coaching? Doesn’t sound sustainable to me…
  20. I thought it presented a thoughtful (if, as you point out, a somewhat disjointed) picture into a GA writer’s take on Lanning.
  21. Excellent story, thanks for posting!
  22. Noah was far and away my favorite player on this year’s squad. He was an absolute beast! He left it all on the field every game, he stayed in when he was obviously hurt, and he flew to the ball more than any other player. He was in or near the tackle on the majority of plays this year. You could watch opposing player start to shy away from him by the 4th quarter.
  23. Beat the tough teams on the schedule and STOMP rest of the competition.
  24. Jon, I have nothing but respect for most of what you post, and I admire your knowledge of the game. That said, I just can’t agree with a couple points you keep making on OBD Forum. First of all, 10-3 was “winning quite a bit, his way”. The Rose Bowl is still “The Grandaddy of Them All”, and a Rose Bowl win is a win whether it is by 1 point or 50. That 3L Wisconsin team still placed 2nd in their conference. As far as a choke collar on JH, he shared that distinction with both WT and MH. I agree that Mario is not (and never will be) an elite coach, but he gave Oregon his all right up til Miami poached him (the week before the 1st Utah game). He was a hard worker who put in more hours on his job than any of his predecessors. While I am glad he is gone to the disaster that is The U, I still acknowledge he did some good things for Oregon in his time as a Duck.
  25. LaMichael James, Marcus Mariota, and Penei Sewell, that is some pretty good company! Congrats to KT!
