Oregon vs Maryland Post Game Discussion Thread
Chas Man replied to kirklandduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I'm curious to see how the O-Line grades out. Seemed like someone was getting blown up regularly killing the plays before they started and setting DG up for some big hits. Reminiscent of the first two games of the season before we got things figured out. -
"ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!" || Ducks Vs Them
Chas Man replied to CjAllen180's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Loved the Coach K clip Lanning showed, and the moment it was fulfilled in the big house. "Wha's the key? Preparation is the key. In this game, I'm going to come up to you at some point, I'm going to ask you to take a peek. I'm going to ask you to look around and see them leaving that place because we did our job." Wow, that is next level coaching that is making this team a force to reckon with. Go Ducks! -

The Illini gave up 49 points in their overtime win over Purdue. Chances are the Duck is going to be doing a few pushups Saturday.

Evening CFB Games to Discuss: No. 1 Texas vs. Georgia!
Chas Man replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Every one of Oregon's vanquished opponents won or is winning today: Idaho, (Boise State with a bye has only lost once; to OBD), OSU, UCLA, Michigan State. All of them winners AFTER losing to OBD. That's saying something. -
Evening CFB Games to Discuss: No. 1 Texas vs. Georgia!
Chas Man replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
So, is Illinois that good, or is Michigan that bad? Seeing how they lost to the disgusting dawgs up north, Michigan may just be that bad. -
Evening CFB Games to Discuss: No. 1 Texas vs. Georgia!
Chas Man replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Don't know that I love being #1 this early in the campaign. That's an awful big target on your back from here on out, but, what are going to do? Trust the process. Shut out the noise. Play for your brothers. FEBU! -
Oregon's Defense: Purdue Went From 49 Points to ZERO?
Chas Man replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Seems like the "eye test" on OBD used to be we were either fast but a bit on the small side, or big and a bit slow. Now we look big and fast. I like what I'm seeing! -

Limar? Harris? Would be nice to see if someone in addition to James can tote the rock. Well, okay, an outstanding catch by Whittington will do! -
NCAA Closes the "Oregon Loophole", I Think Not.
Chas Man replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Breaking News: PI penalties will now result in a touchdown when it is apparent the offender was intentionally choosing a 15 yard penalty instead of giving up a sure score. (This loophole must be closed according to NCAA verbiage stating that "a team should never benefit from committing an infraction". -
Yeah, the way the snobs cherry pick what offends them and what doesn't is pretty lame. There are scores of things teams do during the course of a game to leverage the rules in their favor, "Hurry up and snap the ball before the truth comes out about who really caught the ball" being one of the more obvious. How about throwing the ball to the ground to stop the clock? How about kicking off out of bounds to avoid the possibility of a big runback? How about stepping out of the back of the end zone or kicking the ball out of the back of the end zone to opt for a safety instead to giving up a touchdown or field position? Come on blue blood snobs, have a little self awareness!

Pitching Disaster: Oregon Loses to Texas A&M 16-9
Chas Man replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Yikes. -
Senior Guard Jermaine Couisnard was 4 for 17, 0 for 5 from beyond the arc, and 5 turnovers. Hard to know what to say about that stat line.

Cool! Jan. 24th Jabbar Muhammad Update!

Out of sight and right on! -
What a wonderful turn of events from less than a week ago. When UW kicked off to Michigan they were on top of the football world. Who knew that Michigan taking that opening drive to the house would spell the beginning of the end. Poof, Cinderella’s carriage turn back into a pumpkin!

National Championship Game Discussion Thread

So much for Michigan’s top rated defense getting freaked out by the laser like passing game of Washington. Defense still wins championships:) -
Oregon BEATS the Bastard Huskies 76-74!
Chas Man replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Ducks by 2! Always a bit more enjoyable to win a close one in their house:) -
Yeah, I was exhorted to “Bow down to Washington” in the office this week. And we are supposed to find some level of elevation in their success? Not I! GO BLUE!

U of O grad living in Seattle… Even after losing 12 in a row to Oregon, Husky fans projected an air of superiority and ridiculed the fake “O stands for Zero NC’s” program built by Nike $. My two favorite teams will ALWAYS be OBD’s and whoever is playing “M”.

Texas ranked 116 against the pass this year. One would expect Penix would have put up Bo Nix like numbers. While some would diminish Michigan’s #1 ranked defense and #2 against the pass statistics “because they didn’t play a passing attack like Penix and company” you would have to agree the windows will be tighter and the task more difficult than vs Texas’ porous secondary. Also noteworthy: The top rated passing defense Penix faced this year was Oregon at number 54. The rest of the teams all ranked around 100 or worse, with Stanford topping the crappy list at 133. Judging by the stats, Penix has not faced a good pass defense all year. That will change Monday night.

UW also should have lost to a horrible ASU team at home, but for a travesty no call on an obvious game ending pass interference call, and miraculously escaped a simarly anemic WSU team at home. They are not invincible by any means and could be embarrassed by a much more physical Michigan squad. Just sayin.
