No doubt Jeanty is a great running back. Also no doubt that week in, week out he played against far inferior competition than DG. I'm pretty sure most voters will side with your perspective. By the way, the Moore Award, given to the best OL group, has gone to the B1G more than any other conference.

Quality of competition should matter on some level. How Heisman worthy is a h.s. kid who runs for 400 yards and 6 touchdowns against a h.s. defense? Looking at Hunter's team, they played only one ranked opponent all season, Kansas State, and lost. In that game Hunter tallied 3 receptions for 26 yards, and on the other side of the ball notched one tackle. DG on the other hand had a plethora of "Heisman Moments" against some of the best programs and most difficult environments in the country. Not saying that TH isn't talented, but if I'm in a room trying to decide between 4 of the most talented players in the country, I'm going to give some consideration to who each of them played against, and what they did when they played against the best.

I think your last comment nailed it. I saw a video clip on "X" today of OBD fans going crazy to "Shout" between the 3rd & 4th quarters. The white outs looked miffed that Duck fans were partying in their place! Not a whiff of a mention by the broadcast folks.

One of their more maddening tirades was when the Penn State punt returner got called for the fair catch signal "that wasn't an infraction" in their high and lofty opinions. I muted the tv at regular intervals from that point on!

Could not agree more: It's time to retire the, "Kenny Wheaton's gonna score" rift. Whereas I once found it inspiring and thought I'd never tire of seeing it, I now find myself cringing when it is aired before EVERY game, as if it portrays the only moment of glory and the zenith of Oregon football. While it may have signaled the dawn of a new age, it is now tired and time to put it to rest IMHO.

It looked like the plan was to benefit from Tez's presence on the field AND to allow him to get some of the rust off from his extended absence. I loved seeing him go to the ground safely several times, and minimize the end zone gang celebrations after his touchdown catch. Mission accomplished. He looks ready for the playoff stretch!

Definitely need to find their mojo!

Speaking of Thanksgiving, does anyone know what the schedule is for the players on Thursday? If you were a parent of one of the Duck players, would you want your kid home with you on Turkey Day, eating second and third helping of dessert, or would you want them maintaining their game week discipline? I for one would say, "Stay focused, the best gift you could give all of us is a beat down of the Huskies on Saturday. We'll celebrate with turkey & pumpkin pancakes on Sunday!"

Nice to see Prime & Heisman favorite TH go down today. Perhaps an off day at the office will cause his odds for the trophy to plummet as they did for DG a week ago. Now we just need to see Wyoming pull the stunner against Boise:)

Shelstad had 6 assists, all in the first half. That's bringing it when your shots aren't falling.

The "fatigued vs fresh" factor was the main storyline of that game IMHO. Which makes our stellar play in the 4th quarter, especially from the d-line, and really the entire defense, all the more impressive.

Upon reflection, I'm having a difficult time choosing my "superlative" player. Too many choices! I'll suggest a few of my own categories: * Shooting Star: This is the guy who is either the best player on the field, or quietly performing behind the scenes: Kenyon Sadiq * Crunch Time: When you need clutch (as in 4th and 9 with the game on the line) T. Ferg of course * Line Judge: Who owns the line of scrimmage? My favorite dirt dog: Jamaree Caldwell * Tip of the Spear: This is the guy who signals to opponents they are in for a slobber knocking game: Jordan James (of course) * Secret Weapon: The freak of nature whose middle name is "Game Wrecker": Matayo Uiagalelie (My current favorite player and biggest source of confidence) So many more that could be mentioned, and I guess that's the point: This team is loaded with difference makers. Great culture for a championship run. Go Ducks; Annihilate the Dawgs!

Well that was a nice turnaround. Happy to see it...didn't want any bad vibes traveling to Madison with OBD.

Hard to believe Portland lost to UC Santa Barbara by 39 points. Strange game.

If I put my fears of a major injury aside, I see this road game in Madison as a glimpse of the Summit. Win this, and you are in the Big Championship. Major goal accomplished on your way to the Natty. You have a bye week to prepare for the Dawg Poop beat down with no pressure whatsoever. Lose to Wisky, and now you are in a must win situation vs UW. That to me is worth circling the wagons and making sure you have everyone focused to bring your absolute best THIS Saturday.
