  1. Wayne Tinkle? Perhaps they could just swap coaches...OSU's for ASU's.
  2. It seems like Dana would have to opt out, and up to this point, that is not the message he has been sending. Is he seeing his future through rose colored glasses? This team is really bad, and he is the head coach. It's his product we are watching flail away with a rather astonishing sense of futility.
  3. 3 minutes left in the half and OBD just scored their 10th point. They are shooting a collective 12% against the 11 win Terps. How can these guys spend their whole lives in the gym and still be that bad at putting the ball in the hoop?
  4. Wow, what a way to end the Men's BB season. I had shut down my computer when we were down three with 16 seconds to play, but thought I'd better check back before opening this topic. Glad I did! What are your thoughts on this year's edition of Dana's boys?
  5. Perhaps Dana could learn from Coach Graves how to assemble a cohesive team in the NIL era. Just saying.
  6. I recall the season my brother and I shared great joy when Oregon made it to the Poulon Weed Eater Bowl and pulled out a last minute win over Tulsa. We felt as though the holiday season had a special magic. Even though the two playoff losses were painful in the moment, I can be nothing but grateful for the rise in talent, performance, entertainment, and wins over our hated rivals that Dan Lanning has brought to Eugene. These are the best of times for this Duck fan!
  7. Perhaps Justin Herbert? Who would have guessed he'd be the second coming of Dan Fouts in the NFL after the way he was underutilized in college? But hey, he learned how to be physical and fight in a phone booth under MC!
  8. Perhaps Hyloti Nyata & Devon Long on the 2004 roster come close, but I think/hope the 2026 d-line is going to be more dominant!
  9. Let's not forget Evan Stewart. Having missed the entire season in 2025 because of injury, he will officially be playing his "sophomore" season with OBD. With the plethora of talent we'll have in the receiving and tight end corp, I think ES is going thrive on blown coverages and missed assignments!
  10. Just keep showing the games and the telly and don't jack up the price of my streaming service too much! Oh, and thank you to all those fans paying more to put butts in the seats and $ in the NIL coffers. We couldn't do it without you!
  11. After close losses in his first two seasons as a head coach, DL has his foot firmly on the neck of "the premier football brand in the Northwest." As long as he stays at Oregon, statements like the quote above will be seen as the obvious dog poo they are. How can you possibly be "the premier brand" when you can't beat your closest rival?
  12. I used to find some relief from the pigskin withdrawal season by watching Dana's boys fight their way into the Pac 12 Tournament Championship game and at least win a game or two in the Big Dance. Alas, in what seems like Dana's last season with OBD cagers, not even that tepid form of relief is available. Guess I'll have to dig out the clubs and start working on my golf swing. Spring is just around the corner, ain't it?
  13. Looks legit. If so, go get em Dan!
  14. And learning to approach practice in dramatically different ways as per this review on Coach Cignetti's style: "Coach Curt Cignetti emphasizes "work smarter, not harder," running shorter, high-intensity practices focused on quality reps and detailed preparation (like running specific plays 15-20 times) rather than long, grueling sessions, aiming to keep players fresh and healthy while maximizing learning through repetition and film study."
  15. oregonliveOregon linebacker Jerry Mixon returning in 2026In his first season as a starter, Mixon had 57 tackles (four for loss) with two interceptions and seven pass breakups.
  16. Let it be so! https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/01/14/oregon-football-evan-stewart-return-ducks-2026/88184479007/
  17. Question: What kind of man passes up the chance to sign a $50 million dollar contract to play in the NFL for another year of college football? Answer: A man with unquestionable leadership ability who can be trusted and followed by other young stars with mega talent and lofty goals. Go Ducks!
  18. I'll always feel like Kenyon was a generational talent that we underutilized. When I think of some of the great college tight ends (Bowers from Georgia or Kincaid at Utah), you always knew they were going to have a major impact on the game in one way or another. The way WS used Kenyon, he was like Houdini, as in, "I come and I go." You never knew when he was going to show up, or disappear for multiple games. Here's to hoping OBD find ways to maximize more of our current and future mega stars like Dakorian Moore & incoming uber athlete Kendre Harrison. Go Ducks!
  19. Although the one exception to "assemble a great team for this year and worry about next year, next year" seems to be at the QB position. There the approach seems to be, "recruit/pay the next starting QB this year with the understanding that he will get his opportunity NEXT year."
  20. IMHO all of these rematch games have a similar "feel" to them. The storyline goes something like this: The first time around was close, but we all know that OBD were the better team In most cases (minus the OSU debacle) there seemed to be an assumption that OBD had better athletes (certainly at the skill positions) and more of them When we showed up and got our butts kicked a second time, not only did we appear to be less hungry/motivated, but we seemed to have inferior athletes at most positions (O-Line, D-Line, Secondary, etc) The coup de gras on top of everything else, it appeared in each of the rematch opportunities that we had inferior coaching at every level and failed to make any of the necessary adjustments that would give our players a shot at a better outcome Yeah, I would say DL definitely needs to change his and his team's rematch mentality.
  21. After watching his 2025 highlights: Throwing motion looks a bit ragged. I'm sure good coaching can refine that. He seems to see the field (a lot) better than DM, especially when the pocket breaks down. His ceiling may be higher than we think.
  22. Another piece of the DL puzzle! https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/01/11/oregon-football-amauri-washington-return-2026/88038527007/
  23. Perhaps the best defense (of the passer) is a good offense against the opponents passer. I'd like to see DL show his defensive lineman ALL of the late and low hits on Dante from game one, and then give them permission to go get their pound of flesh. What goes around should come around. Go Ducks...Stomp out the Cig!
