  1. I always root for the Utes in any game except against Oregon. Totally a class act, they are.
  2. Really, why should USC have to play any regular-season games? They're so good, they should just have bye weeks until the playoffs. Everybody knows it, jeez.
  3. Rasheed Wallace had the perfect answer, no matter what question he was asked: "Both teams played hard".
  4. Our comments here perfectly illustrate why the media/industrial complex is in a dither: we have 23 comments, about 24 different opinions on the future of broadcasting, and at least as many different personal viewing habits and preferences. What's a media mogul to do? And, all the other players involved?
  5. Well, the major streaming players - HBO, DIsney, Peacock, Hulu, - are losing money hand over fist, so I wouldn't bet against linear tv just yet. Amazon and Apple are different, because they can lose tens of millions a year (sofa cushion money) for on streaming sports if they think it will pay off in the future. The entire media/entertainment business is in crisis, as pretty much everybody is losing money and has no idea what to do about it. Who knows how things will shake out. But, as long as live sports are on linear tv, people will watch them (what choice do they have?) and advertisers will follow, as live sports are the only thing that people can't or won't time shift.
  6. MLS season pass covers teams and subscribers nationwide, including most of the major markets. If it can garner only 1 million subscribers (I'm one of them) I don't think the PAC, without the L.A. schools, could have hoped for many more. But, who knows?
  7. No NIL money for you, Miami! Sounds like no money for anybody...LifeWallet has also faced delisting from the NASDAQ exchange due to its stock lingering below $1 for 30 consecutive business days.
  8. Money changes everything. Great article, David. It's the same consolidation process that has turned most areas of modern economic life into duopolies, if not monopolies. Our lives will be run by Amazon, Google and whichever media company survives.
  9. So very weird, that guy is. Either he's cynically just throwing chum in the water, or he's got some psychological issues that are crying out for treatment. Either way, not a good look.
  10. Success has many fathers, failure is an orphan. It's human nature.
  11. Can't wait for that traditional Oregon-Rutgers rivalry game.
  12. I pretty sure Twitter will no longer let you see tweets unless you have an account. Change made in the last few days, I believe. Twitter isn't letting users view the site without logging in | CNN Business WWW.CNN.COM Twitter appears to be restricting access to its platform for anyone not logged into an account.
  13. This may be the kind of speed QBs really need: What is S2 in the NFL? Explaining Bryce Young, other QB scores for 2023 draft cognition test WWW.SPORTINGNEWS.COM The S2 Cognition test has become one of the more discussed predictor tools ahead of the NFL draft. But what is it? The...
  14. The perfect illustration of the Dunning-Kruger Effect in action.
  15. Let's trot out the usual excuses... • Not our kind of guy. • Didn't really want him anyway. • Can't pay as much as Uncle Phil. • Aliens are kidnapping our recruits.
  16. Man oh man, for us old people this is like a fantasy. Routinely getting commitments from 4-star players, with 5-stars in the mix, is something that back in the day couldn't even have been imagined. But, maybe these recruits are not Washington's kind of guys. You know, they don't need good players.
  17. Let’s be explicit here Huskies’ apologists: what does “a different kind of kid mean”? Is this code for something?
  18. Aaargh! So sorry, Pennsylvania Duck, for you and your husband. Hope you’re both well asap.
  19. Every watch Australian Rules Football? Not a game for the faint of heart.
