He's got the right size to be an LB in DL's defense.

Canzano: The Truth Behind What Dan Lanning Says...
kirklandduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The more I watch DL the more I believe OBD have caught lightning in a bottle. He's intelligent, personable, driven, and most of all motivated. I think after he watched Saban and Kirby make their legacies up close, he wants to build his own legacy at a power 4 program which is why he chose Oregon. He wants that same level of national recognition and success through building up his program to levels it hasn't seen, which is a CFP championship (probably more than one). I believe he's going to win at least one in Eugene, it's not a question of "if" but just a matter of "when". Personally I think it'll happen some time in the next 5 years. -
I'll believe it when I see it.

Oregon Fans…Consider “What If…”
kirklandduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The morbid curiosity side of me wonders what would have happened if Willie Taggart hadn't left. Obviously we now know about his character issues and one season isn't really enough to make any sort of accurate guess on what kind of success he would have had by year 3 or 4 in Eugene. His offense wasn't half bad though and put up points easily, though running Justin Herbert between the tackles wasn't a real great decision. -

4-Star Oregon WR Isaiah Mozee Flips Commitment
kirklandduck replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This is one position group I'm not worried about losing a commitment, there's so much blue chip depth already. I understand why Isaiah would flip given the factors involved. -
Josh Pate's Oregon Win-Loss Prediction for 2024

I personally have them at 11-2 to finish the season heading into the CFP as that 5th seed and making it into the semi-finals. -
He's putting OBD at 11-1 to finish the regular season!

I still get weirded out by the geography of it. In the back of my mind though I can see a world where Stanford and Cal get tired of flying to ACC schools after a few years and ask to join the B1G.

New Uniform Sneak Peak! Return Of The Stormtrooper?

I like it. But my favorite is still the apple green scheme. -
It didn't help that Cristobal's terrible offense kept putting the defense in bad situations.

Will Stein Using Napkins to Draw Up Plays
kirklandduck replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Ideas can strike at any time. As a software engineer I've lost count of the number of times I was stuck on a problem then suddenly the solution struck while I was in the shower or mowing the lawn. In order to not lose it I'd always scribble it on a post-it or whatever scrap of paper I could find quickly. From the article it sounds like Gabriel already has some chemistry with TFerg, we could see the TE turn into an even bigger role in the offense this season. -
Dan Lanning Reveals Why He Turned Down Alabama
kirklandduck replied to kirklandduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
We could be looking at a modern equivalent Mike Belotti era where DL takes Oregon to unprecedented heights while sticking around for a decade or more! -
“I think it’s more about what exists [at Oregon],” he said. “For me, it’s the first time in my career I feel like I’m somewhere I can be for a really, really, long time for and my family and I think that’s number one.” ... “I can also never take for granted that Oregon took a chance on me and that means a lot to me," he said. "There’s things I want to accomplish here that I haven’t accomplished yet. I never like leaving a place where I feel like there’s something left on the table and there’s a lot left on the table here at Oregon.” https://athlonsports.com/college/oregon-ducks/dan-lanning-reveals-why-he-turned-down-alabama-crimson-tide-head-coaching-job
