  1. Every time I see the name Oral Roberts I think it's a dental school lol
  2. Trying to...muster a shred...of sympath-nope not happening. USC is not at the level of Michigan and tOSU, more like Penn St or Wisconsin. That means they will be a perennial 2nd tier team in the B10 with at least 2 conference losses each season.
  3. https://www.si.com/college/oregon/football/ducks-boast-pffs-highest-graded-returning-offensive-linemen-in-pac-12 Ajani Cornelius and Jackson Powers-Johnson lead the way in the rankings. OL turnover, particularly at the center position is always a point of trepidation for me (especially losing a good one like Alex Forsyth). But it sounds like we should be that the OL should be pretty stable and pick up where they left off last season.
  4. Sounds like herding a bunch of crazy cats
  5. Loved reading this article. It makes you wonder if Lanning is slowly building a staff of both quality and longevity similar to the golden Oregon past of the Mike Bellioti years and before with coaches staying for a decade or more.
  6. Ah in that case it's a hard no lol
  7. It wouldn't be a surprise if he were to manage a top 5 pac12 offense this upcoming season given the amount of roster turnover he's orchestrated so far. That being said, he doesn't have anywhere near the talent he walked into here at Oregon so it also wouldn't be surprising if it didn't happen the first season or two. A lot of things have to fall into place and that's tough to do even under the best circumstances, let alone ASU which his predecessor left in a dumpster fire.
  8. The media deal was supposed to go into effect on July 1st. Wow.
  9. First reported by Pete Thamel at ESPN but I like Josh Pate's take on it.
  10. I give TT 2 games of garbage time this season. If he doesn't show us anything like last season it's time to move on. He's honestly had all the time in the world to show some kind of improvement.
  11. I wonder how much more whining there will be tomorrow now that this happened today... Oregon welcomes a slew of prospects from Washington and FSP 247SPORTS.COM
  12. This might be the reason for the abrupt departure. https://deadline.com/2023/05/usc-athletic-director-mike-bohn-resigns-after-department-investigation-1235373763/amp/
  13. Big surprise, it's past mid-day Wednesday and no "huge announcement".
  14. I'd argue the level of competition is higher in Michigan than in Arizona.
  15. Losing Dante Moore at the last minute really hurt. IMO he's the most college-ready QB in the 2023 class...a 4 year high school starter and 2 state championships. You don't earn that spot based on potential, he has the goods and it shows.
  16. This is surprising after he previously postponed his announcement. I wonder if this means Michael Van Buren is going elsewhere?
  17. 6'6" 295+lb defensive tackle on Oregon's lineup? Yes please!
  18. Seems like Ohio State is getting the most bang for their buck at the moment.
  19. The CW is channel 11-1 OVA in Washington. Locally it's called KSTW and broadcast in HD (1080i). I'm watching it right now.
  20. It's also critically important that Will Stein identifies solid 2nd and 3rd receiving options, Troy Franklin will not be enough. Whether that takes the form of Treshon Holden/Terrance Furgeson or some other duo combination, Nix needs 2 other receivers that will have at minimum 500 yards each of receiving for the season.
  21. At this point I've pretty much tuned out all the news regarding the Pac12 media deal. Whatever happens will happen and when it happens I'll tune back in. Until then I just peruse articles about recruiting, spring practice, and observations about how the offense/defense will be for the Fall.
  22. Yup. Cristobal's conservative playcalling and insistence on a power run offense pulled from the '90s really hurt Oregon at the most crucial times.
  23. I also posted this in another thread but it sounds like FOX is now back in negotiations in some kind of capacity.
  24. Interesting, apparently FOX has jumped back into the fray. Might explain the lack of news about a potential deal today.
