  1. Helfrich was an excellent OC and one of the best offensive minds around. Herbert's best development happened primarily under MH's tutelage. Could you imagine what kind of offense he could design around someone like Bo Nix?
  2. Under that model I can imagine the Pac12 doing well with that given they already have the Pac12 Network facilities to produce the content, then make a deal with the CW or Ion for wide distribution across all the markets they have access to. Imagine getting all our games broadcast over the air in most of the country without dealing with the giant conglomerates...
  3. To be fair, negotiating a deal with the CW channel is probably a lot easier than the giant media companies the Pac12 is jousting with right now.
  4. Speaking of media deals, this just happened... ACC, CW strike broadcast deal to air 50 football, basketball games - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM This fall, the ACC will begin airing football and basketball events on the CW Network, a new addition to the league's Saturday...
  5. Here's a funny thought: depending on the size of the equity stake in ESPN, what if the Pac12 were to buy it? Then the conferences' sports games could be integrated in by force and get both linear and streaming through the network.
  6. There will be one in every bunch that will make a bad decision. Even with his commitment Miami has only 5 blue chips and 12 3* players. For the most part, the good ones are staying away. If Miami has another sub-500 season record with bad losses to bad teams, I don't think Mario will make it halfway though his 2nd year. He'll be fired early like Slick Willie did.
  7. I read this article earlier today. Just a lot of fawning over USC and some serious underestimation of Oregon. That aside, USC can't even get past Utah and until they do there shouldn't be so much starstruck attention on them.
  8. I think what we're seeing is Mario's bad X's & O's finally catching up to him. High school grads pay attention to what their prospective coaches are doing, especially the blue chips. I wouldn't be surprised if recruits are noticing how bad his offenses really are and how much he alters/overrules his OCs schemes and play-calling instead of letting them do their job. If I were a highly ranked QB or WR, I'd stay away like the plague.
  9. I hope he realizes better playing and possibly development opportunities under DL!
  10. One can only hope! I know the two are good friends and definitely wouldn't mind being on the same team.
  11. Now DL just needs to reel in Dylan's buddy Kamar Mothudi!
  12. Was nervous about this one. The latest was that it was really close with MSU.
  13. It's an idea that's deeply unsettling for me, I'll leave it at that. That being said, stranger things have happened.
  14. Well good luck to him, after a season or two of mediocre team play he will probably have 2nd thoughts.
  15. Seems to be short-sighted given that Arizona will struggle to get into a lower tier bowl at best and Oregon would give him the best development opportunities (and display them on bigger stages).
  16. It seems that Dylan Williams is now trending away from the Ducks after favoring Oregon recently. Maybe this is because Justin Williams may come to Eugene? Oregon Recruiting: 4-star trending away from Ducks ahead of commitment DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM 4-star LB trending away from Ducks ahead of Friday commitment
  17. It seems that somehow Elijah Rushing is increasingly likely to commit to Arizona... https://www.si.com/college/oregon/recruiting/where-will-5-star-edge-elijah-rushing-commit
  18. His size and smooth, evasive running ability reminds me of Byron Marshall. If develops into a versatile back like that then I'll take 5 more like him!
  19. One thing that's interesting to think about is the equipment logistics. All the football team's stuff is carted by long haul trucks to the visitor destination (at least for Oregon). Within the Pac12 foot print currently, all those away games can be reached within 3 days or so. But to do that as a member of the Big10? What a nightmare to calculate those costs to move all that equipment to Columbus, Maryland, etc., especially for back to back road games. A team would have to double or triple their equipment to make sure there's a set ready to go for the team when they get to each destination.
  20. One of them could be Rising since OBD picked up a crystall ball prediction for him a couple days ago.
  21. This one's a trap game for OBD. TT is sneaky good. The biggest factor working in their favor is a ton of returning experience. Much easier to start off the season on the right foot not having to coach up so much and get a jump on teams in transition. The offense will need to get situated quickly with Will Stein running things, otherwise the game will go sideways in a hurry.
  22. McRoy is a mountain of a human being. 6'8" and 360+ lbs?? I'd hate to face off against him every down!
  23. That was the best part of the article lol Thanks David!
