GameDay Thread versus Utah: Join Us!
Ok let’s see if Lanning and Lupoi made any adjustments. Otherwise this will be painful to watch.

Good start for the offense.

UCLA v USC
UCLA is taking USC out to the woodshed in the 1st quarter. Let’s see if they can keep this up.

Can the Oregon Ducks Beat Utah Without Nix?
True. But the best oline in the world won't help if we're one dimensional.

Can the Oregon Ducks Beat Utah Without Nix?
I hate to be a negative Nelly but I just don't see it happening. TT just hasn't shown us anything that would inspire any sort of confidence in him competently managing the offense...if Nix doesn't play then there goes the Pac12 championship game for OBD.

Recruiting News Thread - Updates
Yeah but could you imagine David Hicks and Kadyn Proctor squaring up in practice every day?? Now that's some serious iron sharpening iron...

Getting David Hicks and Matayo Uiagalelei would improve that pass rush in a hurry.

Tough Question: Are These the Right Defensive Coaches?
A quote from this article: Lupoi, who played defensive line at Cal, had zero experience working with the defensive secondary, a critical component of Saban’s defense. Lupoi was known as a tireless worker and talented position coach during his three years as Alabama’s outside linebackers coach but there were concerns about whether he’d be up to the task in areas like situational play-calling and recognizing what an opponent is doing in-game and being able to adjust on the fly, which had been a big strength of previous Tide defensive coordinators Kirby Smart and Jeremy Pruitt. However, Lupoi was the staff’s best recruiter -- he’s a big reason stars Tua Tagovailoa, Najee Harris and others picked Alabama -- and he was going to have interest from other programs. If Saban didn’t promote Lupoi to defensive coordinator, he was likely to lose him. And after overhauling his staff to get more aggressive on the recruiting trail following the 2017 title, Saban didn’t think he could afford to let Lupoi go. Wow, this sounds alarmingly similar to a recently departed head coach of ours...that being said it's too early to give up on Lupoi yet. I'm hoping he'll learn some better in-game adjustment coaching from DL before next season.

Dillingham to ASU Picking Up Steam
I could see Harsin going to ASU, it's certainly closer to geographic areas he's more familiar with for recruiting. I still have no idea why Auburn hired him in the first place.

Dillingham to ASU Picking Up Steam
ASU's getting desperate...probably because no one wants to coach ASU with an unknown number of sanctions coming their way. If I were Dillingham I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Nothing kills a promising career like a really bad move.

Lanning Was Out-Coached
Definitely. Right now I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and chalking it up to inexperience....he's playing like a true freshman right now...I'm expecting him to dial down the aggression by 10% and being more field-savvy next season.

Lanning Was Out-Coached
"meh" is being kind to Noah. He's excellent at being a run stopper and plugging up holes in the line, that's just how he's built. But a guy his size just can't do pass coverage and it shows. I agree with you that DL's defense basically needs a lineup of 3 Jeffrey Basas at LB...guys that are around 6'3" and 220 lbs which are just big enough to help with RBs but quick enough to adequately defend the pass. He's already started to address that in the 2022 class with Devon Jackson (6'2", 200lbs) and Harrison Taggart (also 6'2" 200lbs). We'll probably see them start lining up alongside Flowe next season (I think Sewell will declare after this season).

The Head Coach is Brilliant...When?
I have to disagree with the onside kick. That's a surprise that might work once in a blue moon but if you've already done it, teams like UW who will over-prepare for the Oregon game will have definitely noticed and be ready for it. In this case, it was absolutely a bad decision.

Ducks vs Washington: Post Game Recaps, Articles, Interviews
Up until Nix got injured due to a dirty hit to his leg, that drive would have resulted in a TD and the game would've been out of reach for UW.

Offense squandered opportunities and made too many mistakes.

And suddenly Irving develops butterfingers. What on earth is going on?

Why wouldn't DL take a time out and get Nix back in?? What???

TT is in? The game is over...

GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
Apparently even adequate pass coverage is too much to ask...

GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
Defense absolutely needs a stop this drive.
-
GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
What's with our kicker?? He keeps kicking it out of bounds and giving UW better field position.
-
GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
Really don't like settling for a FG. That was a dirty hit by the Fuskie player, aiming his helmet right at Nix's knee like that.
-
GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
Really good, methodical drive. Now they just need to finish it and punch it in.
-
GameDay Thread versus Washington: Join Us!
The pass coverage is absolutely terrible. An open receiver on virtually every play right now.

If there ever a time for a stop, it's right now.
