I don't know what is holding back Harris in practice, he seems good, although I could have probably scored on that last play. Harris a Limar certainly seem to want it more when they are out there.

Whittington is still stuck in his head about the injury. Playing scared in a strange sort of way. If he's truly our 2nd best RB, then we need to use James sparingly through the season unless we are on track to lose. Whittington also isn't reading where to go well. I was hoping Harris would be used, but he's still behind Limar, which is disappointing. Kudos to Whittington on that catch though. Outstanding.

Yeah you have no choice but to go a day ahead. The flight time combined with the time zone change, and game prep is too much, even for a late start like this one. Just sent alarms for regular West coast wake up and you should be okay.

Sports science says the best way to beat the time zone change is to be there as short a time as possible. Its when your body clock tries to adjust that you have problems. So keep the trip to 24-36 hours and don't change your clocks and you'll be fine.

The 4 seconds lost were the difference between OSU having time to call the time out after the slide vs the game being over and it was 100% legal. Remember the Survivor series motto? "outplay, outwit, outlast" It's well known that our most elite military groups utilize every possible advantage in a tactical mission. If they would have known exactly when osama bin ladin was going to be taking a poop they would have adjusted their attack time. If it's legal, DL is looking to exploit it, and I'm all for it. I still think the UO sports science group needs to mix up a mouth rinse for our O-Line that creates the most pungent and repulsive breath, such that when they block down on you and breath in your face your natural instinct is to recoil away as fast as possible, such a stench that you can't think straight enough to defeat the block and tackle the ball carrier.

Great read. Still the comment that Burke was off his game because he was getting beat. I saw the play from Tez for the TD, the way Tez ran that route, getting into Burke and explosively releasing off him is unguardable. I keep saying that a perfectly executed pass play cannot be stopped by perfectly executed defense. Maybe sometimes Burke gets beat, but has enough speed to reel the WR back in or the ball is under throw. Nobody beat with a double move is going to reel in Evan Stewart when Gabriel hits him in stride.

Thanks for that snippet. I tip my cap to that guy seeing the same thing we do and calling them on it. I actually think the local/ team specific press has good reason to focus on their own team's plusses and minuses just like we do on this forum. But I don't give a pass to players and coaches and national press that refuse to admit OSU was outplayed. Lastly it's a fallacy to say they beat themselves with their mistakes. The Ducks made their share of mistakes that cost points too.

To a coach (except Kelly), to a player, to a fan, to a sports writer: "Oregon didn't beat us, we beat ourselves." What a bunch of entitled, classless, bad sports. Screw these guys and the pompous world they inhabit. I officially am an Ohio State hater now.

What did I say in the perception topic? We weren't good, OSU was bad, that's why they lost. Denzel Burke didn't get beat/outplayed, he just played bad and needs to do better. I think the OSU locker room knows what happened. They played a team that was superior to them at times, and often enough to beat them.

OMG check out the box score. The stats are the most even I've ever seen in a game. A tip of the cap to Ohio State for the uphill battle against the environment, the travel and the game time, that they came to play right out of the gate. BTW did DL grow or what? He trusted his D and kicked a field goal from one yard out.

Yep I didn't think we could win tbh. Amazing game. I was okay with losing a close one, but this win should get us into the playoffs one way or another. Everything about this game was unexpected. Offensive pass interference on #4 was the last thing I was expecting. He was rag dolling our dbs all night, but they finally called one at the most inopportune time. Howard threw better than Gabriel. Not what I expected. So many not what I expected things. What a game.

USC is at home too. That doesn't bode well for our game. Expect tOSU to get the vast majority of the debatable calls going their way as the crowned jewel of the legacy B1G this year.

Let's all be grateful to be relevant and having college game day at our campus. Let's enjoy the game for what it is, win or lose there should be some rare, phenomenal displays of talent from both teams. Go Ducks, make us proud!

Perception presumes a lack of knowledge, and a lack of knowledge breeds belief, and people choose to believe what they want to believe. So no, I don't think winning will improve people's perception of the Ducks, it will just prove to those people that Ohio State was overrated and Day sucks and should probably be fired. I just read a headline that basically said that. Winning a few playoff games and especially a Natty will be what actually changes perceptions of Oregon by force. But I'm okay with that. I don't need confirmation from people that don't know what they are talking about. And our Oregon team touts FEBU, so I don't think they care much either.

I'd be thrilled if we didn't get out coached on our halftime adjustments this game.

Ohio State players will feel like they are on another planet in Autzen. The air is different from the Midwest, the sound will be vibrating their eyeballs, and the 7:45pm start time will make them slightly groggy..

So that's as good as it gets for them. It's great for them they are on the CW and not a streaming service.
