  1. Precisely this: Riley and UCLA's Chip Kelly will probably put on a smile and recite the official company lines about how great of an opportunity it is to join the Big Ten. We might even hear about how wonderfully enriching it'll be for the student-athletes to experience the cultural ambiance of Piscataway, New Jersey, while visiting Rutgers.
  2. I think is a clear + for Smart over Ryan Day. I don't think Ohio State took Oregon seriously last year. Georgia has handled Lanning to Oregon with class from Day 1. It's very likely that another team would have tossed Lanning under the bus and said that the game against Oregon will be a laugher with their hand me down coach.
  3. This is how I take it as well. I believe Kirby is saying that playing Oregon sets them up for taking on SEC teams, rather than an opening game against a cupcake that wouldn't be any competition at all.
  4. . It will be, "What the?" Wow!!" But. I don't think Nix will be Johnny Footbawl,
  5. I recognize the disadvantage the time zone puts Oregon at, but overall, I am thankful. I like the 5:00 start times for the Prime Time games, very thankful to not have to start watching at 8:00. On Sunday the NFL games start at 10:00 and 1:00. which I prefer much more over 1:00 and 4:00.
  6. Yeah, that seems to be a prediction based on nobody else making that prediction.
  7. I too feel like the "silence" is a good thing, and I'm looking forward to "Media Day"
  8. Seems like Spencer Webb was a 5-star human being who would have gone on to accomplish great things, a tragic loss.
  9. And UCLA's. I know my buddy Bill hates this!
  10. It has been proven that the winners of the championships have had stellar recruiting numbers. But Oregon didn't lose to Auburn because of their roster. If Dixon didn't go down, that team would have won it all. I'm all in for Oregon getting the top players, but it's just another stat.
  11. I don't find it that fantastical.
  12. It all begins with Georgia, and it's hard to make an objective case for Oregon winning that one, but the games last season against the Utes were a complete mess. New coach, new players, new offense, new defense= new outcome. Of course, it will be 1990 all over again when BYU comes into Autzen. The Cougars in the Palouse the next week have me more concerned.
  13. This is worse than, "Once a Duck, always a Duck". The disingenuousness is overflowing.
  14. No, I should have been clearer, my favorite USC player.
  15. Thanks for your thoughts.
  16. Cal? Ore. St.? Bulldozers are at Reser digging up interest while Oregon just finished construction on the premier Track & Field stadium in the world. In Berkeley I expect that 70% of the fans don't know when the first game is on, much less when or who the Bears are playing. Watching the Pac-12 Network has shown one thing above all, the crowds at home games for Oregon are the biggest and the loudest.
  17. Wow, it's as hard for USC fans to EXcept that Oregon has handled them with almost as much ease as they have the Purples. The Trojans have actually won in the past and belong in the blueblood type, but they can be just as classless. If USC basketball was a guest on that old TV show, "What's My Line" it would stump the panel. SnoopDogg doesn't go their games. Their best player last season: could walk around and nobody would recognize him.
  18. This is exactly how I see it too. From now on, I want and actually expect. USC and UCLA to be bombarded with boo's from start to finish for every road game, in every sport, The Jane can get pretty loud. As for the Beavs, I want wins because then it's more impressive when we beat 'em. The Huskies have enough trouble winning now I don't need to really think about their games, and of course, Go Utes, beat FlorDUH!
  19. Thanks for bringing this article over, it was a very enjoyable read, looking forward to reading more from Mr. Oram.
  20. Well, gosh darn, sorry to hear about your problems there, Addison. Hard to imagine USC being anything less than forthcoming with their future plans...about anything.
  21. He was nominated for an Oscar for his role as Sonny in "The Godfather" and I really liked his TV show. Las Vegas", but to me, James Caan was Brian Picolo in, "Brian's Song? I remember when it was shown on TV, it was all anybody was talking about at school the next day.
  22. I agree completely with Kamikaze Kid, we don't hate the Beavs, in fact it is a bit like Wally and Theodore. The hatred is reserved for the Mongrels, Fuskies, purple splotch on humanity, up north, though recently, USC has been the target of our vitriol; in part of their actions, and of course because Washington hasn't really been worth the attention.
