  1. AGONY!!!!! With the score tied and the Ducks driving into UCLA territory with under three minutes to go, Droughns coughed up the ball. His frustration was evident as he smashed his helmet-less head into a metal bench on the Oregon sideline. On the very next play, Cade McNown hit Danny Farmer with an incredible 60-yard TD strike to put the Bruins ahead 38-31.
  2. Defending champ, Georgia, will play 5 of the top 6 teams.
  3. Please let that be, "It goes without saying."
  4. This would be a conference that OSU and WSU could compete in, maybe even win. Instead of hating on Oregon, Washington, UCLA, USC for "leaving them" they should be thankful they weren't laid off from the Pac-12 years ago.
  5. This is it, exactly. Ignorance was truly bliss for me. Every day now, along with covering the games, sports media is generating stories about contracts. NFL, NBA, MLB, not to mention, NIL. $30-60 million a year are what the stars are making, and I know I'll hear somebody tell me, "Now his family is secure." You think? The NFL does have problem internally. The big $$$ are going everywhere, except to the running backs. The best contracts are the second ones. By that time an NFL RB is worn down. He's not getting a new deal. The NBA is the worst. I cannot watch an NBA game anymore. Back in the 70's, Walt Frazier and the Knicks were my first favorite team. The' 77 Blazers, NBA Champs, started the next season, 50-10, before they were crippled by injuries. "Showtime" with Magic and the Lakers and Bird and the Celtics, in the *80's. Jordan and the Bulls in the 90's, with the Pistons and the Knicks. Now, it's Load Management. The Commissioner knows that interest is down for the regular season, so now there's a mid-season Playoff. Of course, with $$$ for the winning team. The NFL finally realized their All-Star game was a joke, so they replaced it with NFL players playing Dodge Ball. The NBA is still playing the game, kind of. The average score now is 240-239. The Slam Dunk Contest, used to be something. Jordan, Domonique Wilkins, Clyde Drexler, Vince Carter. Now it's players nobody ever heard of. There isn't enough money in it for the stars to compete and none want to be embarrassed by not winning. I will always be a fan of the Ducks and college sports I still watch the NFL, it hasn't eroded like the NBA has. The WNBA isn't really much better. Sabrina and the New York Liberty advanced to the 2nd round last night, I didn't watch.
  6. He could win the Heisman and match Johnny Football's NFL career.
  7. 1995-98 were good times for UCLA. Their quarterback was Cade McNown, from West Linn High School. The Bruins went 3-1 against the Ducks during that span, and McNown to WR, Danny Farmer is a constant nightmare!
  8. Wouldn't that be a Code violation?
  9. Mario, "taking his talents to Miami" has actually been a great thing for Oregon and its fans. No matter who the coach was they'd have the record they have now and it's ridiculous they're being praised for it and are heading towards the Playoffs.
  10. The Hills are Alive with the Sound of it.
  11. Playing Purdue as soon as possible is a good thing.
  12. Don't know I missed this the first time. Priceless.
  13. There is definitely something to be sad about patience for a QB. Of course, the Portal usually works against it in college, when a QB will jump if he isn't starting. Hurrah for Dante Moore, who probably would be starting for UCLA this Saturday, but instead, is thinking of the future ahead of him starting next season at Oregon.
  14. Two other basketball schools trying to crash the football party, what's keeping Indiana from being highly ranked, despite those stats and a 4-0 record is their SOS is actually weaker than Miami's, 3-11.
  15. Uniform reveal at the bottom of the thread... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I want this one.
  16. I thought a slight change to the title of the article made more sense. One of the things Lanning has learned early on as a head coach is Coach Speak. It's a necessary skill, not as important as clock management, but it's up there. I did like what he said here: "I'm excited, obviously, for our first Big Ten matchup. Getting the opportunity to travel to the Rose Bowl, always an iconic place to play, and certainly a team that we're excited to go out there and play against." Of course they're excited to play the Bruins. 17. Exactly. So, I don't see it as being snookered, instead it's a huge, backhanded compliment to the Oregon Brand. Especially, since this game and later with Washington shouldn't be competitive, but the Oregon Brand will get viewers.
  18. Absolutely agree. Alabama doesn't play games @ Southern Alabama. I actually think most Beaver fans don't want to play Oregon again, they probably grimaced, while Oregon fans grinned at Bray's post game comments. The coaches, admin are responsible for what happened to the Conference of Champions. Oregon State & Washington State didn't attract the B1G or the 12, Cal & Stanford had to go across the country and join the ACC. Oregon State has nothing to fear but fear itself, but I'm afraid that it's their fault.
  19. Oregon State should join the conference that Northwest Christian is in, their basketball team is coached by Luke Jackson.
  20. Hey, we can see this one!!!!
  21. Just to clarify, the B1G is the most "overrated" because everybody knows what the ACC is, except for Clemson and media darling Miami, though Cal did beat Auburn, and the Big 10 is bigger than the Big 12.
  22. Mark Harmon, star of "NCIS", until LeRoy Jethro Gibbs retired, is who I think of when it comes to UCLA football.
